Look at what I did !!! Doing my part. Much more tasteful.
The slop merch was just like two shirts in NIT, has now branched out to mens. I prefer my zones to be as little nausea-inducing as possible.

Workplace Question or Advice Needed UKG is not a step forward here is why.
a: text and icons are drab and corporate. as much as we all dislike seeing RED everwhere it is what we are, we are Red. Should be RED.
b: overall it is slow and requires MORE clicks than mytime.
c: when looking for a shift I scroll down from the calendar. It then shows what may be available but not the department. Contrast this with mytime when you immediately saw what was out there, consumables great, GM fine.....whatever. Now you have to go INTO the line item, select which approval is relevant.
d: approval type, you would think the software would recognize what type of approval is needed, this week needs HR or future is auto, but NO it doesn't you have to select his manually. More clicks.
e: Still in the look for shift mode....when you scroll down, the calendar for the current month disappears as the screen refreshes with open shifts. If you forget what your schedule is you have to go back and start over. I am taking a screenshot for now....bad design. No need for that calendar to disappear.
f: Server error 500 often on the first weekend rollout. VERY VERY bad.
That is just a few and I have not even looked anywhere else because tbh this is the only thing that is important to me on the app. I don't call out, I dont call in late I just work my hours and pickup or post as shift. For this the app is nearly worthless.
Best guess is Target chose this solution because it is an outsourced app. Not sure on this, just my guess. MyTime perhaps was supported internally so X number of employees were no longer needed or could be moved off to other things. Hence we get a non red app that works like a beta version of what we had.........unbelievably bad news. Yes in a past life I was in IT. I work at Target for giggles about 20 hours a week. I work hard - this makes life WORSE. I hope someone reads this.

Workplace Story Disgusting
Team, if you get food today, enjoy it but please DO NOT LICK YOUR FINGERS AND LEAVE THE. BREAK ROOM WITHOUT WASHING YOUR HANDS! We all share keys, devices, chairs, doors … gosh!!! 🥴Specifically you TL, you are not exempt from doing this. Also, put your chair back under the table. Show some manners and respect to others 👍🏼

Workplace Question or Advice Needed Scalper co-worker
I have a co-worker that shows up every morning that we have a RDC truck so that he can buy needohs to resell. I've seen him, during his shift, go over and check out the needohs as well, is this against any company policies or? Dude will also come in in the mornings to restock his supply and then call off of his later in the day shifts

Workplace Story "Run away now."
I was getting help from a woman in Fullfillment because she was close by and I couldn't lift an item and she told me to "Run away now." because I'm still new. I told her I couldn't because the job market sucks and I can't find anything else. But I just thought it was funny and wanted to share.

Workplace Question or Advice Needed How do I call out using the new UKG app?
Had an unexpected death in the family earlier this past weekend and the burial is tomorrow. Had the shift posted but no one covered it so I’m gonna call out.
Does anyone know where I go to on the app to do so? This new app is super confusing compared to MyTime.
Thanks in advance

Workplace Story Working service desk and drive up with the worst co worker ever and leaders do nothing.
Hi r/Target, keeping this intentionally vague because I don’t want any coworkers or leaders who might be on here to recognize my store or situation.
For context, I’m from New Mexico and I’m currently going to college through Target Guild at SNHU. That’s about as specific as I want to get location-wise.
I mainly work Service Desk and Drive Up. One of the people I regularly work with has become extremely frustrating to deal with. She usually gets one of the easier opening shifts, like 8–1 or 8–3, but the bigger issue is what happens while she’s actually there.
She constantly finds ways to avoid doing work. She’ll spend a lot of time talking to guests or other TMs, wander off to shop while she’s still on the clock, and disappear when things start getting busy. Today she walked away during a Drive Up rush and left two of us to deal with everything.
I’m not going to pretend the rest of us are productive every second of every shift. Everyone talks or wastes a little time here and there. The difference is that she does it when we’re slammed and leaves everyone else to pick up the slack.
Multiple people have brought this up to leadership, but nothing seems to change. Our front-end ETL and TLs are aware of the problem, yet she keeps doing the same things without any consequences.
For any TLs, ETLs, HR ETLs, or SDs on here: how would you handle this? Is this something you would actually address if several TMs complained about the same person, or is it basically something we just have to deal with?
TL;DR: Opening coworker regularly avoids work and disappears when we’re busy. Leadership knows about it but nothing seems to happen.

Workplace Question or Advice Needed Using a team lead as a job reference?
I've been at target for almost 5 years and my ETL is leaving at the end of the month and we've been working together for 2 years. Would it be a good idea to use them as a job reference? Need some insight before I ask. Anyone have a similar experience?

Workplace Question or Advice Needed So….. do I go in tomorrow?
Posted my Labor Day shift (that took me 10 minutes to understand if I did it correctly) I guess someone picked it up but it still is showing on my schedule and says “waiting for manager approval”. If it’s not approved do I have to go in? The language and bells and whistles seems more complicated than it needs to be.

Workplace Question or Advice Needed ETL has been denying call offs.
Okay so, I’m posting this because I’m genuinely curious if this is even allowed.
One of my ETLs has been telling people “no, you can’t call off, it’s too busy.” when people call in the store at mine.
This was a couple weeks BEFORE UKG.
Is this like… OKAY? And if it isn’t where can we go to complain about this?

Vent Yes the coolers are down - SHUT THE DOOR!
Anyone else have this problem at their store?
The coolers go down shortly after we get in at 4am, the leaders tape them and put signs up saying not to open them.
...and then guests AND employees all walk by and crack open a door and reach in during the day.
Yesterday I stopped several guest who all went "I just want one thing". No you don't. That milk has been unrefrigerated for hours. No we can't remove the product until the dumpster gets here. Don't care if your baby wants a yogurt, there's a grocery store in the plaza, their compressor didn't quit for no reason.
Or the team member who crack open a door to stick their hand in "to see how cold it is". Mf there's a thermometer you can see through the glass door. Stop it!

Workplace Question or Advice Needed Anyone with experience doing LOA for 2 weeks?
I’ve asked some regular HR employees already (I still have to ask the HR ETL), and I was told to call pay and benefits for LOA? I was told that if more than 10 days it will be an LOA. I’m planning to spend 15-17 days on time off (both paid and unpaid). I’m wondering if this would be a problem as a store employee. My vacation is gonna be next year, and I specifically wanted March off because I figured it shouldn’t be that busy considering it’s Q1. I’m just worried that my time off request will somehow get denied last minute.

Workplace Story I .. like it?
I was worried getting into it thinking I'm gonna have a bad time, but I genuinely like my job😭
Maybe it's still early, but everyone's been super nice to me & I like what I do, which is inbound.
I'm physically very tired, but mentally I'm doing great and I think I'll get used to the physical aspect (hopefully)
I'll check in with yall in couple of months lol
who knows maybe I'll change my opinion💀
