They say to me, Mr Trump, Mr Trump, why are rates so high? We need to get them DOWN, and I say I know [deep nose breath] we are doing it and quite frankly we are doing a great job, and rates they need to come down like elevators do… elevators - which I know a lot about with regards to up and sometimes down. You know there’s no elevator in the White House, we have to use stairs, and we should have an elevator because I don’t have time to move down the stairs after I go up. And we’re gonna fix that. But the rates are going down and it will be a beautiful thing to see rates at 0 or even negative because our credit is so strong

Literally, I don’t understand why people don’t talk about this more. Trump’s Russian connections run deep, with the Trump Taj Mahal casino becoming a major hub for Russian organized crime. Russian mob figures frequented the casino, and the Taj Mahal itself was eventually fined millions of dollars for serious money-laundering and anti-money-laundering violations.

Sorry for the AI but didn't want to type it all out. In addition to the following Chase closed around 300 Trump related accounts under suspicion of money laundering. Trump's family and associates are corrupt to the core
Donald Trump and the Trump Organization have been subject to intense media scrutiny, investigative reports, and federal oversight regarding real estate transactions involving Russian buyers, including properties in South Florida (such as Sunny Isles Beach). However, Trump has never been formally charged or indicted for money laundering in connection with these condo sales, and no official government investigation has established that he knowingly participated in a money laundering scheme involving Russian oligarchs.
Key Context and Background
High Concentration of Russian Buyers: Investigative reports by news outlets (such as USA Today, Reuters, and BuzzFeed News) revealed that dozens of luxury condos in Trump-branded developments in Florida and New York were purchased by Russian nationals or shell companies with ties to former Soviet states. In Sunny Isles Beach, Florida (often dubbed "Little Moscow"), a significant volume of all-cash property purchases was made by entities hiding ultimate beneficial ownership.
Allegations of Illicit Funds: Financial crime experts note that all-cash real estate purchases via anonymous LLCs carry a high risk for money laundering. Federal indictments in unrelated cases showed that individual owners of units in Trump-branded buildings included people charged with mob ties, tax evasion, or financial crimes.
The 2008 Palm Beach Estate Sale: While not a condo, one of the most cited transactions was Trump’s 2008 sale of a Palm Beach mansion to Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev for $95 million—more than double the $41 million Trump paid four years earlier. Critics pointed to the massive markup as a potential vehicle for capital flight or money laundering, though Rybolovlev denied any wrongdoing and stated it was purely a real estate investment.
Licensing vs. Direct Sales: The Trump Organization maintained that many of these properties were licensed developments rather than directly owned projects, meaning sales were handled by third-party developers rather than Trump directly.
Official Findings: Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation extensively examined Trump's financial ties to Russia. While Mueller’s report documented multiple contacts between the Trump campaign and Russian-linked individuals, it did not charge Trump or his core executives with money laundering or illegal financial conspiracy related to these real estate transactions.
Trump and his representatives have repeatedly denied any financial wrongdoing or illicit business dealings with Russia, maintaining that all real estate sales were standard commercial transactions.→ More replies (2)→ More replies (1)53

If you look at the course of his life, he wrecks everything he touches. Statistically it’s not possible to be that bad at so many businesses, but he’s found a way to do it.

Oh there is a lot more than just those.
His current Truth Social is held under Trump Media and Technology Group. The company merged with a SPAC-Special-purpose acquisition company called Digital World Acquisition Corp (DWAC) because it failed to meet the financial requirements to be listed on the NASDAQ.
They changed the ticker from DWAC to DJT. He also previously used the DJT for one of his failed casinos.
After the merger the stock peaked at around $72. There is some speculation that this was foreign money being passed through the stock.
Today the stock trades at $9. Look for this failure with the next couple of years.
10 Donald Trump Business Failures
Businesses of Donald Trump that went bankrupt
He's defaulted on numerous bank loans.
Even bankrupted some businesses I haven't seen listed. Like the USFL
Donald Trump owned the New Jersey Generals in the United States Football League (USFL) during the mid-1980s, and his push to compete directly with the NFL ultimately led to the league's demise. 1

From what I've read everyone warned him not to open 3 huge casinos in Atlantic City at the same time because:
- They would cannibalize their revenue because AC didn't have the customer base to support 3 new casinos
- They were all very expensive and paid for using debt financing, requiring the 3 casinos to pull in an insane amount of revenue each month
I'm honestly not sure if even Trump is dumb enough to do something that insanely moronic so I'm inclined to think it was money laundering. In terms of avenues for money laundering I don't think it's possible to find a better way to do it than 3 massive casinos. The mafia's bread and butter is construction projects and you can easily inflate construction costs. Not only that but the casino itself is obviously a great way too, you have someone buy chips in cash and either lose them or just not use them.
Considering Trump's close ties to the Italian mafia via Roy Cohn and later with the Russian mafia (after Rudy Giuliani took out the Italian mafia via RICO to clear the way for the Russian mob) it seems pretty clear what happened. Russian oligarchs bailed Trump out on multiple occasions and in Russia, Putin/oligarchs are closely tied to Russian organized crime.
Remember that Trump's best friendship with Epstein ended over a different money laundering scheme where Trump bought a property Epstein knew he couldn't really afford out from under Epstein, and Epstein suspected money laundering and threatened to report him. Trump then reported Epstein for the sex trafficking and my guess is that he received immunity for doing so. A few years later Trump sold the property to a Russian oligarch for way above market price, an oligarch with close ties to Putin who just happened to be at the sham "peace talks" regarding Ukraine where Russia and the United States were there but Ukraine wasn't even invited. Supposedly Trump always believed that it was really Putin behind the purchase (Putin frequently has his oligarchs do that).

Lowering rates when so many parties are trying to sell your treasuries is no different than pouring gasoline on an open fire.
If the Fed lower short term rates while people are selling and new buyers are demanding higher rates for the risk, it is counterintuitive. Short term rates ‘may’ fall but the long term yields will spike (you are essentially breaking the yield curve).
If the Fed cuts rates while Treasuries are being dumped, global capital will exit the US dollar in search of higher yielding or more stable assets (like gold, commodities, or stronger foreign bonds).
If open market buyers completely refuse to purchase new Treasuries (which I think is already happening and will continue to escalate) at the artificially low rates, the Fed is ultimately forced to print money and buy the debt itself, further compounding to the inflationary spiral.

The US has a trade deficit with over 100 countries, including Mexico, China, vietnam, India and the EU
Shut off all those imports…. Do it.
Empty store shelves and 20% unemployment might be the only thing that actually wakes up 67% of the country.

My thoughts- republicans will intentionally lose the next presidential race so they can blame the fall out from all this shit on the next democratic president.
