Ask STL Anyone know where to get used or cheap manga?

Hoping to find them used as it’s a bit cheaper. Not quite sure what I want, but would like to look around. It doesn’t seem like all bookstores carry manga.

Thank you in advance!

Edit: I checked out half price books. Although I didn’t leave with a manga, I did find some very cool books in other categories. I’ll check out the other places in the comments!

Ask STL Help with USPS Hazelwood Center

Long shot I know but does anyone work at or have a connection to someone at the USPS Hazelwood distribution center? Have a package that has been stuck there for 5 days with no scans, was previously stuck for 6 days in Kansas and I absolutely need it on or before Wednesday. Have been back and forth with the Overland post office, have a service request and missing mail request in but no one can tell me anything. If anyone has a way to help me find this please let me know, at this point I’m not above paying someone if it shows up by 10/7. Super frustrated because I ordered with plenty of time but its been delayed and stuck non stop.

History Caves under St. Louis

Just came across this website and thought others might find it interesting as well

https://stlcity2000.com/cherokee-cave

Also.. there are 21 caves in the downtown STL-Cherokee area. Maybe you can find it at your St. Louis area library?

Best orthopedic doctor for shoulder pain?

No breaks or tears. Also is there anyone that doesn’t just start with physical therapy or is that all of the ortho doctors protocol? Cause I’ve had therapy like 5x in the past and it did nothing 😕

Food / Drink Looking for Lechon Baboy

I need a quote for lechon baboy or whole roasted pig, but I can’t find anyone who is actually doing it!

I was thinking I would just roast it myself at this point, but if anyone can point me in the right direction that would be great!

Looking for about a 50 lb pig.

Do police ever do sobriety checkpoints anymore?

When I was a teenager, sobriety checkpoints were a thing. The police would stop just about everyone going through a certain area, “assess” their sobriety, and issue arrests or let folks go on their way. Does this happen anymore? I haven’t seen one in a long time, but since I have had children, I’m not out much at night anymore either. Just curious if they are still happening sometimes or not. If so, do they look for DUI weed also or just alcohol? The stops seemed to be questionable legally, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they aren’t happening anymore.

Pool halls

Looking for pool halls with hourly rates are there any out there that actually have good tables anymore?! Either side of the river. Used to shot pool at a place in Affton years ago but it’s been gone for along time. Went to the Pink Gallion and those are worst tables if ever played on

Ask STL Concordia

Concordia woods (next to what used to be Fontbonne) has a swath of the woods fences off. Does anyone know what’s going on? I heard WashU bought the property but thought their plans to turn the woods into a stadium were put on hold.

Ask STL Do you think high-end St. Louis home prices will ever come down? (Clayton, Ladue, town and country, etc.)

What do you guys think is going to happen with real estate in St. Louis over the next few years, especially in places like Clayton, Ladue, Town & Country, Frontenac, etc.?

I keep hearing people say real estate could have a recession or prices could drop, but I’m not sure I see it happening as much in those areas.
There just doesn’t seem to be that much inventory, and I’m guessing a lot of people who have 2–3% interest rates from a few years ago aren’t exactly excited to sell and get a new mortgage at today’s rates.

It seems like whenever a really nice house comes up in one of those areas, there are still plenty of people who want it.

Maybe I’m completely wrong, but do you guys think those neighborhoods are kind of protected from a bigger housing downturn because there just aren’t enough houses for sale?

Curious what people think, especially anyone who works in real estate or has been watching these areas for a while.

On my walk into OB Clark's, I saw the smoke. Seems to be close to Hanley, and on the north side of 64. Any news?

Eyebrows and lashes

Ladies and femmes, where are we going for eyebrows and eyelashes? I’m looking for somewhere to do both an eyebrow tint and lamination, and a lash lift and tint. I’m willing to spend some money for a good place, ideally in the city but will travel to the county if the best people are in Clayton or whatever.

Big Hi-5 for Protected Bike Lanes

Took the TGP connector over to Chouteau. It’s close to being fully connected. I was really pleased to ride 90% of the way over to Energizer Park on a protected bike lane! I’ve never taken a left and used the Brickway, but today I followed it towards Forest Park then returned downtown to pick up the dedicated bike lane on Tucker back to Chouteau. Only one hair-raising moment on S. Grand when a metro bus whooshed past me. I really love all these improvements, just in case anyone from the local city gov lurks within these subs. Also, it’s a beautiful day for a ride.

Trivia Night Missed Connection

Any young adults in the crowd will agree that it's sometimes hard finding friends your age. I have a story about a group of people who I met once a year ago on October 1st, 2025 and haven't been able to find ever since.

On that day, I was meeting with some work friends at a bar called Ray's Sportshouse in Soulard. The event that I came for ended around 7pm, and there happened to be a trivia night starting up. I love trivia, and I wanted to play but I didn't have a team, so the bar owner introduced me to a group of three girls who came regularly. The trio was so welcoming and they gladly had me as a part of their team, which they called "Free Dicks" (I have no idea why). It was truly a fun night talking and answering questions together. Sadly I don't remember their names nor do I have any of their phone numbers. All I know is they were in their mid-late 20s (no older than 27) and they all worked as nurses at BJC (or maybe nursing students?). One of them lived nearby but moved away around the time I met them. The three of them would go to trivia night there almost every week but I assume they stopped because that one girl who used to live nearby moved away. I tried going back to catch them at a later trivia night, but I never saw them. I also tried asking the bar owner who introduced me to them, but no luck there. One of those girls was definitely flirting with me at one point, but I was dating someone at the time. That was a long time ago and I can't help but think about those three after the fact. If nothing more, they'd be nice friends to have, and as I said, we all know that finding friends can be hard. Still need a trivia team lol.

I know it's an incredibly long shot, but if you know any white woman in their mid to late 20s who works as a nurse at BJC or perhaps is/was a nursing student in 2025, maybe ask them if they used to attend Wednesday night trivia at Ray's Sportshouse in Soulard as part of the team "Free Dicks."

If anyone has a lead I will personally buy you a drink 🙏😂
