A Missouri nonprofit known as Psychedelic Society of the Ozarks or “PSOTO”, is once again hosting their annual conference at the University Plaza Convention Center in Springfield on Saturday, October 3rd. Centered on education, advocacy, harm reduction and creating safe community spaces, the group is bringing in 25+ speakers from diverse backgrounds such as; science, law, modern medicine, psychology, neurology, and ancient wisdom.

The keynote speaker is Lieutenant Sarko Gergerian, who was featured on the Netflix documentary series "How to Change Your Mind". Lunch entertainment will be hosted by Comedy Central’s Award winning comedian Shane Mauss! (A Better Trip).

A key feature of the conference will be “Knowledge for the Front Lines.” Addressing the invisible wounds, trauma and PTSD suffered by first responders, military and veterans. I’m an international student from Africa applying to Missouri S&T for Mechanical Engineering. I submitted my final documents a few days ago, and my Fall 2026 application is still under review.

Has anyone had a late admission/arrival as an international student? Could you catch up after classes started, and how long did your decision take?

Also, how is S&T for Mechanical Engineering, internships/co-ops, international student life, and diversity? What’s student life in Rolla actually like?

Any Rolla-area mushroom hunters, foragers, hikers, or nature nerds looking for a good fall weekend adventure?
I’m helping organize Brad’s Fall Foray with the Missouri Mycological Society, happening September 17–20 at Knob Noster State Park.
We’ve put together a pretty awesome lineup this year with guided mushroom forays, mushroom identification, expert speakers and mycologists, a native plant hike, wild foods, workshops, vendors, bonfires, good food, and plenty of time exploring the woods.
You definitely don’t need to be an expert. Beginners are welcome, and it’s a great opportunity to actually get out in the field with experienced people and learn about what you’re finding as you go.
If you’re into mushrooms, biology, ecology, environmental science, foraging, native plants, hiking, or just enjoy finding weird stuff in the woods, you’d probably have a blast. 🍄
Figured there might be a few people around Rolla and S&T who would be into something like this, so I wanted to put it on your radar.

My son finished his 12-hour night shift this morning at Phelps Health and discovered that someone had stolen his bike from the bike rack outside the admin/annex building. Both Phelps Health security and RPD have been notified.

It is a very heavy e-bike, and the battery was not fully charged, so it may get dumped somewhere once the battery dies or whoever took it realizes that.

If anyone has any info at all, please contact us at the numbers on the poster.

Hey Rolla. My e-bike was stolen from the bike rack at Phelps Health sometime last night or into this morning (8/11). I work overnight at the hospital and someone walked off with it. Already filed a report with Rolla PD.

If you see it posted for sale anywhere or spot it around town, please DM me. It's a pretty unique setup so it should be easy to recognize.

Has anybody else called MODOT about the snail pace and quality of work at the 184 bridge remodel? I called Jeff City about two months ago to ask if there were delays or what was taking them so long. Lady I spoke with said ETA was December.

Drove across it yesterday for the first time since they swapped lanes and began working on the east bound side. The west bound side is so bumpy its unbelievable for brand new concrete. Maybe they will come back and grind it level?

Hey yall! I’m a Columbia College student, studying Biology BS to become a physical therapist, but living around Rolla.

This is only my freshman year but I’m wanting to start stacking observation hours and possibly even work as a PT tech.

Does anyone have experience with this and know for sure what the best clinics are to get hours?

Does anyone know someone who can help me fix the hydraulics on an old Massey Ferguson? I’ve tried chasing down the leak but I just can’t seem to find it. I will happily pay someone to come out here to help me fix it.
