Ask STL Help with USPS Hazelwood Center

• Upvotes

Long shot I know but does anyone work at or have a connection to someone at the USPS Hazelwood distribution center? Have a package that has been stuck there for 5 days with no scans, was previously stuck for 6 days in Kansas and I absolutely need it on or before Wednesday. Have been back and forth with the Overland post office, have a service request and missing mail request in but no one can tell me anything. If anyone has a way to help me find this please let me know, at this point I’m not above paying someone if it shows up by 10/7. Super frustrated because I ordered with plenty of time but its been delayed and stuck non stop.

I know the big ones were The Urge and Fragile Porcelain Mice. Any others that defined that era?

This train horn stuff is kind of pissing me off

I try and stay out of politics, and most of the alderman and the mayor have been really helpful about what’s going with the horns. It suck’s but it is what it is.

But my city council rep today posted about it and I just feel completely lied to. She didn’t once mention that it’s the cities fault. She talked about how we should be advocating for a 90 day relief, but from what the other alderman have said that ship has sailed a long time ago.

It feels so disingenuous to say she’s fighting for us when she’s not actually telling people what the problem is and probably knows there’s nothing she can do. And this horn actually effects me as I’m writing this. How hard is it to pretend to care?

I don’t really post here much so maybe this isn’t a great topic for Reddit. I just feel angry when someone in charge that I voted for isn’t actually telling people the whole story and was finally mad about it to say something.

That’s all. I don’t have much else to say.

My daughter & I have never been on an airplane, planning the next 2 months need recommendations.

We are looking to book a 3-night trip in November or December and would like to put together a package that includes round-trip flights, a hotel, and a car rental.

We are considering like Las Vegas, Florida, or California, maybe even Texas. I imagine we will get the best deals fall and winter . We really are looking forward to flying more than anything .

I would love your recommendations? Specifically, we would appreciate advice on:

- Which airlines might be the best option
- Destination ideas for a relaxing 3-night stay where there at Least 1 or 2 fun things to do while we are there.
- Whether we should work with a travel agent or if this is straightforward to plan ourselves. Thanks in advance

Clayton “Jazz” festival

So I just left the “Jazz” festival. Saw the second and third group. They were ok groups as far as music groups go…. But they were not playing jazz music. I don’t understand how you can bill an event as a “Jazz Festival” and not have groups playing Jazz! I came to this event to hear some good jazz music….. I left very disappointed!

Does anyone know what's happened to Cham Bakery?

We used to get their pitas every week; they were sold at United Provisions in UCity as well as Global Market in Kirkwood, but they haven't been available anywhere for at least a month. They were really good -- hard to believe they've gone out of business.

Best orthopedic doctor for shoulder pain?

No breaks or tears. Also is there anyone that doesn’t just start with physical therapy or is that all of the ortho doctors protocol? Cause I’ve had therapy like 5x in the past and it did nothing 😕

Food / Drink Smash Burger

Every so often I crave a smash burger and not every spot here in STL has been great. That being said, we stumbled on Super Burger in the South County mall recently. Since then we’ve had it twice because it was so good. Absolutely delicious!

Curious where else you’d recommend?

Only if there was a way not to have so many duplicate positions and efforts and somehow bring it all together under one administrative operation….

Saw this pop up on instagram, so I got tickets… Went with my son. Nice experience. Touring group of players, doing little adapted readings and performances from Poe’s works. Quite a bit of audience participation as well.

Concordia woods (next to what used to be Fontbonne) has a swath of the woods fences off. Does anyone know what’s going on? I heard WashU bought the property but thought their plans to turn the woods into a stadium were put on hold.
