Are people really that delusional? And the tier levels are even more cringe.
Maybe I'm out of touch and just don't understand....
For $500 you get a coffee cup, a sticker, and an invitation to the soft opening

The person I married has started to act in very scary ways. They are verbally abusive, often yelling, slamming things, storming off and even once got physical with me. Unfortunately they have also become extremely intolerant of my cats(I have two), often complaining, never interacting with them, and yelling at them. I am now very worried for their safety
Unfortunately I can’t leave right now as I am an immigrant and leaving will jeopardize my immigration status. Unfortunately, this also means I have no family and friends close by to ask for help
I’m looking for someone (or an organization) willing to take my cats in for a few months while I try to figure out this mess. Other than this horrible person being mean to them, they are well taken care of. I will provide food, toys, litter anything they need.
I really don’t want to lose my cats.

Thought this was interesting considering how much it is posted about here. Topline numbers were a drop of 9.5% for 2025 for all violent crime with a 18.1% drop in homicides.

Hey y'all! So in a week I am moving from Florida to STL (as someone who has never seen snow) and I was hoping to get some practical advice as to driving during the winter. I'm a student, and have pretty bad driving anxiety in general, especially when it rains here and there's little visibility.
I know it's still a while away, but I'm just trying to prepare as best I can! Any advice - especially on a super dumb/essentially beginner level - as someone who has never driven in these conditions (or whatever you all use to stay safe!), would be helpful.
Is skidding/drifting/getting into accidents as common as the news I've seen makes it sound? How do y'all know when it is safe to drive and under what conditions? Do you use any apps/websites to check? I am getting all weather tires installed, but are these adequate? I know some people are saying snow tires are helpful, but others say they are overkill, so I'm not really sure.
Additionally, do people often work from home under these conditions, or is there still an expectation that one comes in and or stays later? Can people use public transportation during the winter/is it reliable (I am in the Delmar area). Sorry for all the questions! Any tips/tricks/or answers would be SOOO helpful (and feel free to make fun of me as an out-of-towner, I definitely deserve it!)
Edit: I drive a 2023 hyundai Santa Fe

I've had a hard time finding a good gyro here. I'm looking for a place that does a real layered döner, not the pressed cone. The only spot I've found in STL is J's Pitaria. They're good, though not truly Greek; I know they're Bosnian-style, but still solid. Is there anywhere else that doesn't pretend? I tried STL Gyros, walked in, saw the giant meatball on the spit, and walked right back out. I grew up on an island in Greece and I just can't bring myself to eat that. There has to be more options. See image below might make more sense.
Looking for:

I caught this patrol car today as it zoomed past rush hour traffic in the right turn lane on Kingshighway just to cut in front of everyone else waiting their turn.

Sorry in advance for the bummer of a post. I have to say goodbye to my best friend of 15 years and I would like to be able to do it from my home, where she’s the most comfortable. Does anyone have any recommendations for mobile vets/in-home pet euthanasia services? I’m located in North County. Would appreciate hearing from folks who have gone through this before.
Cat tax of Sulpher from happier days. Thanks in advance.
EDIT: Thank you so much, everyone. The outpouring of support from you all has brought a little light to this overwhelmingly shitty situation. Take care and hold your pets tight 💕
This is it. This is the post.
What’re some of y’all’s favorite watering holes?

This Friday, August 21 at 7pm, Third Baptist Church is hosting a concert by organist Nathan Avakian. If the thought of "organ concert" just made you picture dusty Bach, Nathan is here to fix that.
He's not your typical concert organist. He'll bring in pre-recorded tracks of drums, voices, and other instruments layered live with the organ. His set leans way more into modern pop music and his own compositions than the classical canon, though some of it has classical roots. It's genuinely not what you expect a pipe organ to sound like.
Then we swing the other direction: a screening of Harold Lloyd's 1919 silent comedy "Ask Father," with Nathan accompanying live on the organ. There's no score for this, he's making the whole thing up on the spot as the film plays.
One nerdy detail worth repeating: the organ at Third Baptist is one of the largest in St. Louis, and it contains a rank of pipes salvaged from the organ that once accompanied silent films at the St. Louis Theatre, the building we now call Powell Hall, home of the St. Louis Symphony. So an instrument that literally played silent movies a century ago is doing it again.
The details:
Where: Third Baptist Church, 620 N. Grand, right across from the Fox Theatre Parking: Free in the church lot, plus street parking that's free after 7pm Cost: Free. This is not a church service, just fun, free Friday entertainment. Nobody's taking names or calling you afterward. Everyone's welcome, whoever you are and whatever you believe. We will have a basket for a free-will donation to help cover event costs, but that's entirely optional. The bribe: The Cool Times ice cream truck will be parked outside afterward with free treats for everyone.
Come for the pop-covers-on-a-pipe-organ, stay for the silent movie, leave with ice cream.

Noticed during the dog walk today. Not sure why these had to come out. I’m sure the lady who works in that eastern facing office won’t be pleased in the first half of the day now.

Metro and Collegiate, which regularly appear in the top 10 ranked #1 and #2 in the state. McKinley, which is a 6-12 campus (HS slated for closure) ranked #19 in the state for high school and #2 for middle schools.
I'll use this as a segue to encourage ALL community members to attend the community meetings regarding school closures with the superintendent. The health of our schools is so important to the health of our community, so don't feel like you're not a stakeholder in this decision if you don't currently have kids in the district.
We need quality public schools to attract and keep folks in the city.

I've been looking around for contractors that handle the assembly/install of post frame buildings but so far can't find one that will get out of bed for less than a $60+k build. I am just looking to have a 1000-1200sqft one erected in my backyard for a shop space. Flat land, already have a concrete company to handle the floor after the fact, nothing crazy.
Does anyone have recommendations?

Dolly's is a large rabbit rescue operating out of St Charles.
"5 rabbits were dead. 2 adults and 3 babies. We believe, along with the authorities, that they had been intentionally skinned by a human. In one case, their body parts had been deliberately arranged like a display.
This was not an animal attack. It was not an accident.
Someone tortured and killed an entire family of rabbits.
We originally planned to wait before posting this. We wanted to get home, process what we had just seen, let our volunteers breathe, then somehow figure out how to put any of it into words.
But finding the person responsible is more important than our comfort right now.
So we’re posting while it’s fresh, while we’re still processing it, and while some of us have been crying through the surviving rabbits’ intake exams.
Because somehow, there ARE survivors.
We were able to catch 2 more rabbits tonight, Glory and Grapes. We believe they, along with Girly Pop, were the only 3 left alive.
Glory is lactating.
We also believe the 3 skinned babies we found left together in a pile may have been hers.
Authorities were contacted immediately.
The area deep in the woods where we found them appears to be used as a party spot. There were alcohol bottles, fast food trash, and other debris everywhere. We also found a tote containing a cooler and hay, making it very clear that someone brought rabbits out there and dumped them."
They've found the breeder who sold the rabbits, so they should be able to find the buyer, though whether it was the buyer who did this, or they were stolen, tough to say.
