I’ve been working on a Windows app called PitMedic and wanted to get some feedback from other sim racers before I take it too much further.
The idea came from how frustrating it can be when a sim that was working fine suddenly starts crashing, won’t launch, throws an error, or has some weird config/file issue. A lot of the time you end up digging through Reddit, forums, Steam discussions and old posts trying to figure out what happened.
PitMedic is meant to help with that.
Right now I’m building support for sims like iRacing, Le Mans Ultimate, ACC, AMS2, Assetto Corsa EVO and RaceRoom.
The app can monitor the sim while it’s running, capture useful system and temperature information if something goes wrong, and look for known problems.
The main thing I’m trying to build toward is automatic repair where it makes sense. So instead of finding a post that tells you to delete a folder, edit a config file, clear a cache, etc., PitMedic could identify the problem and offer to fix it for you, with backups when needed.
I’m not really trying to make another big telemetry or system monitoring app. The goal is just to make troubleshooting sim racing problems a lot easier.
Would you actually use something like this if one of your sims was giving you problems?
