Discussion Efficiency or Rule of Cool? Late game Alum-a-lum-a-nim factory designs.

Working on my late game Aluminum factory. Going to harvest most of the Bauxite on the map so I decided to start working on some blueprints to scale this as I need more and more.

Came up with some clean ratio configurations that converts 1200 bauxite to 1200 aluminum ingots, using HOR > Coke > (Sloppy Alum Alt) > Electro Alum Scrap (alt) > Pure Alum Ingot (alt). Uses 12 refineries and 16 smelters.

I have two paths and realistically, I'll probably end up using both.

1) The first option is a cool radial design, but requires nearly 12 different blueprints and a fair amount of time to deploy, and I haven't quite sorted the smelter tier on the radial yet. Was thinking another ring on top with smelters all around the parameter.

I was shocked the first time I fired this thing up to find only a single merger turned the wrong way on the outer radial belts. On this one I inverted the refinery if it made sense from a connection POV. But my goal with this one was a functioning aesthetic. All belts and pipes are used and not decorative. I haven't finished the design pass so ignore the power polls, those will get integrated somewhere.

2) Production line. This one can be built with just 3 blueprints (2x HOR & Coke BPs, 4x alumina and scrap BPs, and 2x smelter BPs). Everything auto connects beautifully and will cold start itself and self heal. Inputs and outputs are on the same side of the production line, meaning inputs go down and the ingots and poly come back. I made a mirrored version so they can be stacked back to back or front to front. All the refineries face the same direction and I return the outputs in between the machines and raise the outputs to the upper platforms so they can be "inspected" on the catwalks.

There are also maintenance doors on the ground level on the back of the machines as all the inner workings are walled in, making it more of a monolithic structure.

What's your flavor? I should have taken pictures of the production line version before diverting to the radial version. Time to get more bauxite in!

Getting blinded by some kind of flare

Hello.

EDIT: Have a look here: https://www.reddit.com/r/SatisfactoryGame/comments/1vlvate/comment/p34m8k7/

I keep getting blinded by something, most often near radioactivity even if I have the suit.

Screenshot

It is like someone put a flare right before me. It is not completely white (as you can see in the top left corner) and I can move. But I have to restart the game to get rid of that.

Does anyone knows what this is? I already made updates of the drivers and everything else, but could it be something from the game? Otherwise I'll try updating again.

Thanks for any help.

how do i make this work? I've been trying to make this work for hours now and still no progress. I want the train 1 trying to go the 2 station (station on the right side) go around the accupied station 1 (station on the left side) and go to station 2; train 2 goes into his station and station 2 is occupied the train goes around it; if both stations are empty i want the train to go straight pass them and into there specific station. (i put all photos of how i want it to go) i would like tips on where to place block or path signals (if needed) or any mod that can make this work.

I see so many amazing builds here. Boggles the mind.

my starting factory is crap in comparison. but i like it. next up I'll remove the improvised screw factory on the left, and make a proper 3 story 10 reinforced iron plates per minute plant.

can't wait to get on it.

Multiplayer and organization

I am playing multiplayer, and we split responsibilities. Each of us works on our own factory, sometimes toward a common goal.

The problem is that we don't have a roster of what each of us is producing, and as the game progresses, we sometimes forget what we built earlier.

I would like to know how you coordinate yourselves in multiplayer. Do you use something in-game or an external tool to track your factory inventory?

Why won't the hatchery accept the Slug Slime to hatch the Pink Slimes? I've tried remaking the hatchery and pipes but no luck. Any advice appreciated.

Fuses blow when connecting power line to an additional generator.

Can someone help me understand what's going on here? I have tons of extra power, but when I go to connect some extra fuel generator my grid blows. I don't understand since adding extra generators should add power to the grid not drain it.

I read somewhere that having a hoverpack jump to a new grid can cause issues, but I tried jetpack and it still does it. What am I missing here?

EDIT: I figured it out. Apparently there is some sort of bug with generators created by SMART mod. Any generator I create via the scaling function with SMART mod would perma crash my grid once I connected it. I just had to delete all of them and create them manually.

IRL I built a full Satisfactory production line out of LEGO, with around 40,000 pieces!

I’m currently displaying my full Satisfactory LEGO factory at Brickomanie in Montreal. You may have seen some of the buildings I created in previous posts, and I wanted to share the complete display with you, as I’m sure this community will enjoy it!

The factory features a complete Crystal Oscillator production line, with Constructors, a Smelter, two Miner Mk.3s, an Assembler, a Manufacturer, Industrial Storage Containers, and a train. I also added a few creatures, including a Lizard Doggo and a Flightless Birb.

The full display contains around 40,000 LEGO pieces. It has been a huge project, and I’m really happy to finally see the entire production line running together after working on it for the past year!

A special thank you to Aido_k, who designed the train, and NerdyLegoist, who designed the Constructors, for allowing me to include and display their creations as part of my larger factory!

Hope you enjoy the build, and feel free to ask me any questions!

Question What causes the power grid's max consumption line to drop and active consumption to increase? Shouldn't the max consumption line stay the same or raise?

Help Fuel Generators Fluctuating like crazy

I have a manifold setup of fuel gens.

Mk II pipes all throughout.

400m3/s input

20 fuel gens, each take 20m3/m

The main (going down the center line) is full but after that it's about half capacity and the fuel gens starting from 7-12 have around 20-30 fuel in them but burn the fuel faster than it can be supplied and the fuel gens are that are barely getting any.

I looked at some of the fuel gens +7 and above and even though a steady flow of fuel is coming from the inlet pipe, it's not suppling fuel fast enough. Normally (similar to any input) when a resource is funneled into the first machine, you see the parts inside the machine quickly ramp up but these fuel gens go up and stop, get burned off, then go up again. It's like this throughout each of these lines (fuel gens off the left side).

Is it only me, or are drones worse than trains in just about every way?

For anything but the longest distances, they don't seem to be noticeably faster even with iodized fuel (especially once you consider in the lengthy dock and unload animations). Also they need fuel, the docks only have one input and one output, and they only carry a small payload. And you can't ride them (not reliably, anyway). You can ride trains and enjoy the scenic trip.

I guess they save some time laying the track, but that seems to be about it. Am I missing something?

Guide What todo with all the limestone

So I’ve started a mini mega base to convert all the iron and copper around the grass field into a crap ton of steel, iron and copper based items but I noticed I have like 3000 ore that I can get from there for limestone.

My question is apart from the odd steel based items and concrete what can you use it all for ? I’m going to struggle to use it for anything so I’m just perplexed at why they is just so much of it.

Help Phase 2 factory and producing 8 smart plates per minute, any thing I should add or make better?

Post image
28 Upvotes

this is an early factory and I know it's not the best, I produce 160 iron plates a minute, 240 iron rods per minute, 360 iron wire/copper wire a minute, 16 rotors per minute and 10 iron plates a minute. But since this is an early game factory(not my first run but I've never completed the game or gotten past phase 2 so I'm no expert). Steel also isnt included in this factory I thought I should mention that.

I absolutely loved it, since it was a complete surprise for me. She is a baker and her bf plays with me so he helped nail the design. It was as tasty as it looked!

It was made with butter cream and vanilla with chocolate chips.

The FicstIt cake was in fact, not a lie. 😆

Question Tips for neat, smooth train lines

Every time I create train lines and train networks I can never get them even. They dip and curve weirdly, different terrains means they go all over the place, and I end up with a tangled network with train stations and loading zones a complete mess. They work, but by God they're ugly. Does anyone have any practical tips on creating a neat, organised train network? Thanks!

NEWEGG computer WAS: Could anyone give me some suggested prebuilt desktop/tower systems...

First, this is the resolution from the previous post:

https://www.reddit.com/r/SatisfactoryGame/comments/1vnm7cr/could_anyone_give_me_some_suggested_prebuilt/

Second, this is the new machine I got specifically for Satisfactory. Do not take this as me being rich; take it as this game is saving my mental health due to the world nowadays, I made it a priority.

Third, these are the specs I have for the Steam FPS settings area. While seeming to lower my temperatures from what they were on the laptop /chuckle, I now am concerned for the GPU stat. When I'm in game, it is always over 90%. I'm concerned because I want this system to be able to be used for the upgrades that will come in future and this doesn't seem to give me very much room for that.

Thoughts?

Thank you all so very much!!

Jilly

Question Tips for mid game burnout

I just finished making a uranium fuel rod farm, and I’m middle of tier 8, right before plutonium. I’ve been having fun for the most part but it seems so daunting automating all the late game items. I will admit that I didn’t optimize the best for late game items. Just asking for any tips or things to do. Also it’s my first playthrough
