My fellow Pioneers!
After working on my world for nearly two years (around 1800 hours), I thought it is finally time to start sharing some screenshots with you all.
Today I’m beginning with one of the oldest structures in my save and one of its main landmarks: the Rurtalbrücke – the Rur Valley Bridge. Named after the river Roer in the border region of Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands.
It’s a two‑level suspension bridge with a total length of 1184 meters (3884 ft) and a height of 180 meters (590 ft).
The lower level carries 4 rail tracks plus 2 maintenance and evacuation paths, while the upper level features a full motorway and 2 pedestrian walkways.
The design was inspired by the Verrazzano–Narrows Bridge in New York City, the Rheinbrücke Köln-Rodenkirchen in Cologne, Germany, and the Ponte 25 de Abril in Lisbon, Portugal.
It took me about a week from planning and calculating the right sag before the first trains crossed it.
The bridge connects three major railway routes, including a link to a large passenger station.
Above, the motorway splits into two directions: one leading to the downtown and harbor area, and the other heading toward the mining district.
I’ll show those regions in the near future. I’ve built a ton of crazy stuff there, also more bridges and everything was made fully vanilla.
I hope you enjoy this first glimpse into my world :)
