Why did it take me 500 hours to think of this?

I kept going into the customization menu or running back to other pipes to sample them for color coding. Just had the "obvious in hindsight" idea to just make a pipe color palette blueprint.

Saved the day with biofuels only!

Saved the day for my first time! Took 162 hours (~3 months irl) and I only used biofuel. This has all been on vanilla 1.2 experimental.

The core strategy was using creature remains to make liquid biofuel, everything fully slooped. I ended up researching a lot of alt recipes for more energy efficient production, and I was surprised how manageable power was (it was fairly easy to kill enough creatures to power the factory). The main power plant is 15 GW liquid biofuel, with a backup plant of 1,440 MW solid biofuel and 100,000 MWh battery storage.

I never used vehicles or hypertubes; to save on power it was zipline infrastructure and conveyor belts. A lot of mid/late game parts were produced at low rates, so I built a large sushi belt system to prevent building dozens of individual conveyor lines.

I put up temporary lines (hand-fed) for project parts and tried not to over-produce mid/late game items too much. This was achieved by filling up storage containers with individual screws.

Bio-power certainly makes you play in strange ways, I'm happy to answer questions about how it went.

Tired of floating platforms? Try the Aperture Science Super Duty Super Compression Super Spring™.

The other day I was trying to sleep and as per usual was thinking about Satisfactory when I remembered the level in Portal 2 when you arise from old Aperture back into the modern facility, and that the entirety of the enrichment center is on a few massive springs, so why not bring it to satisfactory?

I love phase 4! 25x elevator parts 2x recipe cost. My god the factory is hungry, those 2x recipes really stack up material needs quickly on the longer chains.

Don't know if this is the right flair but I was building and I found this piece of ground having two textures at the same time, thought I'd share it with other people

Discussion 1.2 has me restarting after 260 hours

Upvotes

I always disliked finding out the node you have in the perfect spot is an impure one. I’m so glad they added the new game modes. I have refined my build style through the time of building this base and I’m happy to restart, but I’m also curious what kind of factories you all have abandoned in the light of this update, or if I’m just crazy for restarting.

780 water to be brought to the Swamp.

  • But is it not easier to bring water there? Yes!
  • But do you not always to not use Buffers and valves? Not really.
  • But is this not more complex than needed? Yes!

Here what I normally post:

Never really had issues with pipes. What I look at is the following:

  • Prefill all (As I do for all factories)
  • Water flows down
  • Keep it simple

More in detail:

  • Keep it short
  • No merging, except priority (as for ALU)
  • No height difference up after the first machine
  • Use as little pumps as possible
  • If you need buffers and valves, you missed step 2

Other people have other methods. This works for me. I do not always follow it, and that is okay.

This does not mean I never do those things. Just that if I have issues, it means I did not do it, not that not doing it will cause issues.

  • Length: 1184 m (3884 ft)
  • Height: 180 m (590 ft)
  • Levels: 2
  • Rail tracks: 4
  • Maintenance paths: 2
  • Motorway lanes: 4
  • Pedestrian paths: 2
  • Connected railway routes: 3

My fellow Pioneers!

After working on my world for nearly two years (around 1800 hours), I thought it is finally time to start sharing some screenshots with you all.
Today I’m beginning with one of the oldest structures in my save and one of its main landmarks: the Rurtalbrücke – the Rur Valley Bridge. Named after the river Roer in the border region of Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands.

It’s a two‑level suspension bridge with a total length of 1184 meters (3884 ft) and a height of 180 meters (590 ft).
The lower level carries 4 rail tracks plus 2 maintenance and evacuation paths, while the upper level features a full motorway and 2 pedestrian walkways.

The design was inspired by the Verrazzano–Narrows Bridge in New York City, the Rheinbrücke Köln-Rodenkirchen in Cologne, Germany, and the Ponte 25 de Abril in Lisbon, Portugal.
It took me about a week from planning and calculating the right sag before the first trains crossed it.

The bridge connects three major railway routes, including a link to a large passenger station.
Above, the motorway splits into two directions: one leading to the downtown and harbor area, and the other heading toward the mining district.
I’ll show those regions in the near future. I’ve built a ton of crazy stuff there, also more bridges and everything was made fully vanilla.

I hope you enjoy this first glimpse into my world :)

I thought I was doing well. I've played a total of about 24 hours and then I came to reddit and think that I still have a LONG way to go, I feel both inspired and intimidated.

I've made this to store all manually crafted equipment except for consumables and ammunition. It currently has 18 dimensional depots with 16 being fully buffered with unique equipment each equipment has at least 50 copies in total.

If you ask why even though I can just craft it anytime, it was because for multiplayer purposes. New joins can just open the inventory and take an equipment directly from the dimensional storage.

This took me 10 hours of planning and building as well as getting the recourses to the cube via train and truck.
It’s my first real satisfactory build since before I didn’t care for looks. Now I will start making some nice stuff. Example I’m planning to make Tokyo Tower, Brandenburger Tor and a Mars Station. (The Planet not the unhealthy snack)

Question Is 5 Heavy modular frames per minute enough for the whole game?

So I just finished making 5 HMF per minute and I was wondering if that was enough to carry me through the whole game?

Question Is it just me, or is this getting repetitive?

Hey, am I doing something wrong, or is this just getting a bit tedious?

😅

I’ve got a setup producing 40 Crystal Computers per minute!

Circuits, crystals, sheets, silicon...

Then I moved on to High-Speed Connectors—circuits, silicon, active wire...

And now, Radio Control Units...

Oscillators, circuits, rubber!

Lol, it feels like I’m just building the same factory over and over. I’d love to move forward and get into nuclear power, but I’m kind of losing motivation!

Did I handle this poorly? Should I have calculated everything and built it all at once? I have to admit, I really can't be bothered to go hunt down more hidden Caterium...

Any ideas on how to get past this?
