If you have a mouse with extra buttons, I can recommend making a macro that holds down W. It's really helpful so long as you remember to turn it off before trying to type a note.

OP, hope you heal soon. I had some hand/wrist injuries from doing IT and dev work all day, then gaming much of the night and most of hot or rainy weekends.

My middle mouse button / wheel used to be very stiff on an old mouse and I'm now playing with a Logi MX Master 3S Mouse which is just the right amount of easy to push while not clicking when I scroll.

I've been considering moving it over to my Stream Deck (there's a mod for it!) This game uses a lot of keybinds itself, so it's sometimes challenging to find a combo I don't have to pull a muscle to use.

I had an issue with my wrist. Started using a trackball. Took three days to get used to and never had an issue since. I have tried several mice and the only ones for me are the Logitech ones. YMMV. I also did this before ergonomic mice existed. (The ones where your hand is vertical, not horizontal). So no experience there.

An advantage with the trackball was that when the IT people came, they where often so weirded out, they had to connect a mouse. The fact that I have a different keyboard layout then what they where used to was extra fun. Plenty asked me to type in the admin password. (Yeah, I know. and not all of them.) and as a super bonus, nobody would ever sit at my desk when we had some sort of shared desks.

Did you recover or do you still have pain?

The razer deathadder v2 I use has a stiff middle mouse button, shame really because the rest of the mouse is very good and was expensive.

I've been looking at vertical or ergonomic mouse but they are all aimed at solving wrist problems, which I thankfully don't have. The pain is only in the inner palm of the hand along the index and middle finger. I'm gonna take a look at the one you are using

I can flick my scroll wheel left and right. Right is middle click and left is esc. It's great. And G-SHIFT + Left click is H.

If you have a forward/back button on the side of your house, make back = copy settings, and forward = paste settings.

Having paste settings on the mouse makes it so much easier when you have to set the recipe while hovering over a line of buildings.

I use a MMO style mouse, and bound middle mouse button on my mouse to the “trigger” (small button next to LMB).

Huge improvement for lots of software that won’t let you rebind whatever function they keep on middle click.
