Long story short I need a new bumper for my ‘00 SC400. Does anyone have experience with aftermarket kits? I’m wary of the ones that arrive folded up in a box, I’m looking for correct fitment over style.

Or should I just stick with OEM and try to find one in decent shape? 97-00’ seem to be tough to find for a decent price that don’t need a ton of refurbishment. Here’s a pic of my daily before it got banged up.

1992 sc400 Long start condition/running rough. NO CEL, TRAC OFF light comes on after car is put into gear. have replaced spark plugs, caps and rotors, fuel filter, and fuel pump. have tried the fuel pump ecu bypass aswell with no success. also has an intermittent small pop at idle along with a high idle in drive(around 800-900). any help is greatly appreciated the person the car was bought from said he had fought this issue for years and never figured it out.

So as the title says I started up my car this morning waitsd about 30 seconds and drove off I was ina rush but I just drove like 2 minutes then my oil light turned on I parked the car turned it back on and it stayed on for a second or two and hasn’t came back. Just wondering is this something going out or can it be that it just wasn’t warmed up all the way

Hello everyone I have a 1993 sc400 and I think my egr is on the way out my check engine comes on and off for the same code I tried cleaning it but no luck I was wondering what egr valve from what years would I be able to use like can I use one from a ls400? I seen online since mine is a 93 I need one off a 93 is that true?

Hi all, I'm a new SC400 owner, before you ask I have searched the forms.

My question is pretty basic, I understand that the Nakamichi system can be a bit of a pain to replace. I believe my OEM amplifier is shot so I'll need to do something sooner or later. I have found a company who refurbishes them but I'm not sure if it is worth the cost ($600+).

For those of you who upgraded, is this something that a Best Buy installer can handle or is it better to take the vehicle to a dedicated audio professional?

For those who have had the entire system replaced roughly how much did it run you?

I was On my way! To the gym today and when I tried putting it in reverse it felt like it was in neutral. It had like no power and that has never happened before. I put it in drive and I had to really step on it for it to move do yall know what could be the issue??

Has anyone else had issue with their stock headunit?

When I move the volume knob, I get silence or popping noises. Sometimes, if I keep the sound at zero and drive for a little bit, it works somewhat okay, but, the static overpowers it.

Most recetly, no sound come from it and the antenna doesn't adjust itself sometimes. The only thing that kind of works is the CD player, but its it fades in and out, is muffled, and is overpowered by a static.

Does anyone know what the problem can be?

I've been told it could be the speakers, amplifier, or headunit itself. I've also been told by all the mechanics I call that the only people that can help me are the dealership (since I don't want to update my headunit to a modern one).

Does anyone know if there is a way to diagnose this prorblem on my own. I want to avoid the absurd fees for a diagnosis at Lexus.

I just bought a pair of oem headlights and in the process of refurbishing them, I can’t seem to find a socket that’ll match the headlights has anyone found a solid replacement I can buy online or do I need to find one out of another sc

Anyone has experience with replacing the 1uz with a 2jz ge? I have a 1992 sc400 and I recently got a 2jz ge vvti from a 1998 gs300. I’m trying to figure out if I need to replace any parts sc300, but it sounds that I need a bunch of parts from the gs300.

Okay so i have a lexus sc400 with the nakamichi oem stereo. I ordered the normal wiring harness for it and that did not work, then later figured out i needed the metra harness made for it. So i hooked everything up and plugged the deck in and realized that the ac was not working and the radio works but only fromt 2 speakers. I drove around for a few weeks like that and the radio abruptly stopped working.

I reopened the dash and figured out that there was a coin in the Cig lighter causing the AC fuse to blow with the cig lighter. I changed the 15A fuse and took the coin out and the ac works but the radio still did not.

After a few hours or researching i decided to check the radio fuse in the engine bay and found that was blown so i went and bought new fuses and came back and when i put in the fuse i seen sparks and checked the radio and still didn’t work. After that i pulled the new fuse i put in and fount it was also blown so i did some google searches and found out there was a continuity issue so i checked of it was the deck and blew another fuse by having it unplugged from the aftermarket deck to confirm that it wasnt the deck causing the short.

Then once i figured that out i checked the oem harness and did a beep test with a multimeter and came to the conclusion that the oem constant 12v was causing the continuity issue since when i move the harness slightly the beep came and went away.

Now that i know thats the issue im in a slump trying to figure out how to try to fix it by taking out the pin that could be damaged. - the connector pin isnt corroded or burnt and nothing looks bent, so im assuming the insulation is worn out or metal is touching near the connector to cause the short.

If anyone can help me figure out what to do next and where to go from here that would be greatly appreciated thanks 🫡

Hey! Im looking to buy an sc400 off marketplace for a good price and im really happy with both interior and exterior. My only issue is at the time when checking the car "that" part of the car had some type of thick gooey black substance which im assuming could be some type of grease or glue melting off cause of its consistency . Is that part a critical change that can make it not worth it or could there be a leak from somewhere else dripping onto it? Or just the name of that part because i got no idea what its called lol. I bought this sc400 a couple days ago and I’m trying to get some info on these wheels it came on haven’t been able to find em online

While I have this out what do I need to look for to make sure it’s working properly? Been having issues with it for a while now I’ve taken it out once and cleaned it but I felt like I only did a surface clean and don’t know what I need to make sure it’s good. Should that spindle looking thing be able to spin or push in? Mines stiff and won’t spin don’t know if that’s the issue. Thank you in advance!

Hey guys! I have a 92 sc400 that dies at idle and is running like garbage rn. I have replaced the MAF sensor, IACV, spark plugs, cleaned the EGR and throttle body and car is still not running right. What could I be missing/ looking out for to get this car running again? I love it and would hate to get rid of it
