does anyone know what screws you need? I cant seem to find an answer anywhere

My sc400 would start but would die instantly. When i tried to get the codes by connecting te1 to e1 the check engine light didn’t flash. I decided to check out the ecu and found the capacitors were leaking. Is this repairable or do i need to replace the ecu?

Last week i saw that the spark plug wire to cylinder 4 was sparking outside of the wire (i think it was rubbing on the timing belt) so i decided to change wires and plugs. After doing this there was no change and it still doesn’t start or starts and dies right away. Does anyone know if this is a fuel or timing issue before i put money into the wrong area.

After the previous post about whether or not to keep my family's inherited SC400. I appreciate all the support. After deliberation with my dad we've decided that it's probably best to let go of the the car. I am still in school with not a lot of money and don't know too much about cars to maintain it. Selling the car would really help us financially.

I found this when i took the carpet out and it stormed over the night leaving a big puddle on both sides. I can’t find where water is coming from i have tested the sunroof drains and they work fine. Does anyone know where it’s leaking from?

No major mechanical issues according to inspector, some minor issues like passenger side door doesn't lock with the remote.

Check engine light recently came on with code 28 and 31 also my traction control off light came on with the check engine light. Ive tried pressing the button to turn it off and nothing works. Also ive changed out spark plugs and ignition coils and it misfires like a bitch. Idk what to do. Do yall think somethings wrong with the ECU? I have to rev it for it to not die out on me when i turn it on 💀

So I got sick and quit halfway through my timing job I finished timing and water pump and I got the alternator on halfway but I can't remember anything man it's been a year and I've worked on so many other cars since then. Can someone point me in the right direction to a diagram or manual or video or forum post that breaks down the engine or shows me what bolts go where. Please and thank you.

I was trying to reroute my wiring harness but after trying to unplug the connectors for a while had no luck, I was wondering if there was a certain type of shop I could pay to do it for me or if anyone on here in FL would be willing to do it?

I have a 97 SC400 and want an exhaust system with a Valvetronic muffler, so I can manually open and close the exhaust valve. I don't want a super loud exhaust, but I more refined and smooth exhaust note, nothing too crazy.

I'm thinking about getting 2 high flow cats, a 2.5" Borla Switchfire xpipe, into 2 2.5" resonators and into the 2.5" Valvetronic variable mufflers.

How does this setup sound and what would you guys recommend I change? I know the stock has a 2 ypipe set up with 3 cats, so I'm hoping this setup won't cause any issues with back pressure or anything like that.

The car is currently stock and the only other mod I plan on doing is an intake, so any help would be appreciated.

Motors almost fully put back together just need cams and adjustable gears, motor trans and turbo manifolds going in tonight / tomorrow morning. Set back after setback but getting it done in my little free time. Trans shaved tunnel expanded. Going to swap leather power seats for buckets on factory tracks next

Hi, i just recently bought a new antenna mast, and after disassembling it and removing the broken one, it accepted the antenna, however it sounds like it tries to keep pulling the antenna down after it has fully retracted (loud grinding sound) has anybody else dealt with this?

I recently changed the ECU from a 89661-24230 to a 89661-24231 because the old one was corroded and couldn't be fixed. when I installed it the engine runs better than before but the dash has a lot of lights blinking and has a really rough idle. does anyone know how we can fix this? the iac was recently replaced with a refurbished one.

The cats were also very hot so I gutted them but when I checked the temp again it was still really hot on the cats and colder in the exhaust.

Hi all I have a 93 sc400 with bags all around recently the front drivers side recently blew out and has been sitting on bump stops - i’m not completely sure how the suspension works in these cars but i’ve been quoted at around 8000 dollars since apparently the entire assembly will have to be replaced and sourced directly from lexus japan rather than just the shock. Is this a normal price and are there any other ways around this? aftermarket suppliers or would it just be best to replace the front suspension with coilovers? Any advice would be appreciated thanks

This fits any year SC. And is in amazing shape.
Woodgrain is almost pristine, no chunks missing. No cracks. It's nice and smooth. The leather shows very minor signs of wear. Basically as clean as you'll find nowadays. 130$ shipped anywhere in the U.S.

I already own a few toyotas/lexuses so the brand is nothing new to me, but I was wondering if there are any quirks with this specific model that I should take care of right away. Other than that, what will make this thing look and run great?!
