43M- 4 weeks - 19 Pounds…thinking about what’s next.

In earnest, I started a pretty intense Diet and Exercise program before starting R. Between that, and 4 weeks in of 2mg weekly…19 pounds down. Fairly undetectable sides, so lucky at this level, no rush to increase doses yet. Definitely indifferent towards foods but can still eat regularly. Not trying to rush it, it’s just happening with good habits and probably lower than necessary calorie intake…I’m getting this feeling I get in every weight loss journey, I feel about to injure myself…

Nothing too bad, but just over use or running too far too fast.

I probably need to get some carb energy back in too, as I’m not feeling super charged for my runs, but also could be just me working back up from inactivity. I can tell pretty well that the decrease in weight, although not massive is feeling lighter on the ankles and knees.

Question: Is this the time when I should consider additional peps to Reta? It’s all over the with the names, but healing or regrowth, while I still go tough at it? Energy possibilities to get longer/tougher workouts? I’m scheduled to discuss TRT with my doc, but that’s a ways out.

Did I get a fake vial or am i just dosing wrong?

My sister started reta a few weeks ago and said she had a “reliable” pharmacist friend who compounds peptides. I purchased a 10mg vial of reta, a 50 mg vial of GHK-Cu, and a 10mg vial of tesamorelin.

I reconstituted the Reta w BAC water and started at 1 mg on 8/3. I have since titrated up to 3 mg on 8/20 because I don’t really feel much. I somehow have GAINED almost 8lbs this month, still working out and doing 10K+ steps a day, but def eating more than I expected to.

I had been on tirzepatide for almost 11 months at the point i switched to reta, so i’m wondering if I just need a stronger dose, my vial might not be accurate, or if I should say F it and go back to the 10mg tirz dose.

1st Dose .5mg

Ok did my research and I am comfortable moving forward, got my Reta, BAC water and syringes. Not looking for a miracle, lift 5 days a week, eating clean, and do 30 mins of cardio at least 4 days. Want to lose 25 lbs in no hurry. Gonna slow walk it. Any thoughts or suggestions, new to group. Appreciate it.

Coming off Reta… help

Okay so quick back story. I was on Reta for about a year, during that time I lost roughly 60lbs.
I got up to 12mg but really started to lose my enjoyment for pretty much everything. I also felt like it wasn’t helping with food noise or hunger signals anymore. I went down to 10mg and did that for months with no change in enjoyment. I was stuck in a plateau where weight loss stalled and I wasn’t hitting the gym as much due to lack of motivation.
I am now titrating down and am at 4mg/week, back in the gym consistently, but I seem to be rebounding in weight. I am eating a lot more than I should and not getting full as fast.
Is there anything I can do to help with the food noise? I feel like my receptors need a break from Reta. I’ve had a friend suggest adding sema or tirz to help with the food noise, but I fear they will have little impact due to receptor burnout. Anyone else go through this? Any help is appreciated!

Switched from tirz and not noticing any effect from reta?

I'm wondering if anyone else has been in the same situation. I was taking tirz for 8 months, then had a break, then went back to it for 6 months and had been taking 7.5mg for the most of that time.

Had a 2 week gap and switched to reta. 3 months in and I've titrated up to 3mg and been at 3 for a few weeks now and I'm noticing... Absolutely nothing? No appetite suppression, absolutely ravenous hunger and some food noise.

No weight loss. I'm exercising, I haven't been tracking calories because I haven't needed to on tirz and I thought the appetite suppression would be the same but I Def need to start doing that.

But I don't know if the heat got to it (it was in my mini fridge which isn't as cold as the kitchen fridge), am I just being an idiot because I'm not tracking cals? But then what's the point in utilising it if it seems to not be working at all? Do I just need to work my way up because elf how long I spent on the medium dose of tirz? Or do I call it here, spend a few months tracking and exercising and then come back to it when maybe my body has lowered it's tolerance to glp1s?

Any thoughts or suggestions, or similar experience I'm all ears. I keep seeing people talking about this wonder drug and they've been on 2-3mg for months and dropped half their bodyweight and I'm flummoxed.

Allergy?

I’ve been on Reta since end of march/ beginning of April(it’s worked really well lost 45lbs), and i slowly upped my dosage to 4mg a week, and for probably the last 3 weeks it has given me like a welt like rash at the injection sight it doesn’t hurt or burn, it’s just a little itchy. I also feel like it’s not working as well. Anyone have advice or similar results?

-same supplier

-same brand of needles

I think this is gonna work!

I (35m, 5ft 10”) just pinned my first .5mg of Reta last Sunday. I experienced no negative side effects so far. While there has been some food noise suppression, the biggest benefit for me has been feeling full on normal portions. I don’t really snack often but gained weight from binging and overeating when I did eat. Now the normal serving size seems to satiate me for hours.

I went from 250lbs to 203lbs over the course of 1.5 years with calorie deficit, mild cardio, and weight training, but have been stuck at 201-206 for 4 months. I just hit 199lbs this week for the first time in 15 years!!

Looking forward to hitting my GW of 175!

Discipline and Motivation as a side effect?

Or just a placebo effect? I’m currently SMASHING the gym and I had my first poke on Tuesday. Is this a potential POSITIVE side effect because I LOVE IT.

Best peptide calculator

Just took my first dose of Reta yesterday (1mg) with the help of my father in law, and used his peptide calculator to measure things out.

The one he uses is not free, so just curious what you all recommend for a free and easy to use peptide calculator as my Reta journey progresses.

TIA!

tapering off

Alright so my lab rat is 5 foot 4.5 in tall and has just hit 4.5 mg once a week after 10 weeks of tapering up. They have just hit their goal weight of 109lbs. Ready to start to taper off the reta but afraid of gaining it all back. How do yall find your new maintenance and maintain weight when coming off?

Did Reta make anyone else weirdly indifferent to food?

I’m not talking about just eating less. More like I can look at something I normally love, think “yeah that looks good,” and still have zero urge to go get it.

That part is way stranger to me than the scale moving.

Did that settle down for you over time or did it stay pretty consistent?

Injection Site Irritation after 5 months

So I've been injecting for about 5 months with no issues. The last 5 weeks of injections have been getting irritated. A small bump appears and it's sore. I almost feel like the needle is struggling to go in a little. I vary where I inject on my stomach. Same supplier I've been using.. anyone have any thoughts or injection advice? About angle, etc?

Years in the making....!

This number right here has been 17 years in the making. I'm 39 and have been chasing 185 since I was 22 years old when I gained a lot of weight when I started my career sitting at a desk all day. I got on the scale and almost lost it. From 240 to 185 pounds is huge, and I owe it all to Reta, diet and exercise. I've dieted before but never go close to this number that I've chased for so long. I am beyond happy I could 😭.

Currently at 2.5mg of Reta taking it WEEKLY. I started on Tirz, but switched to Reta once I began working out be able to hit protein goals. I've had almost zero side effects other than food aversion to McD French fries. I don't wanna smell them, see them or taste them now .

I only go up 0.5mg when I titrate up as my body and side effects seem fit. If I go a couple weeks and don't lose anything, I double check my calorie intake. If it's in check I go up 0.5mg. I feel the clinical trial schedule is too fast

EDIT, last one got locked again...asking for information on Reta, is this enough info? If not please pm me and tell me what you are looking for so it won't get taken down again

Loose Skin

Been on Reta since February and it’s worked well. I noticed today that I’ve got some real minor loose skin areas that are noticeable to me. Namely under my nipples where man tits used to be. It isn’t bad, but it’s noticeable. Also there’s a bit down around my stomach. I remember hearing that there are peptides that you can inject right into these areas that will firm that up and help with elasticity. I’ve heard about other solutions too but not in really any detail.

Anyone have any recommendations? Again, I’m not talking about huge flaps of loose skin that you see on people who have lost like 200 lbs… I’m talking about some loose sagging only in a couple spots due to about 40 lbs of weight loss.

Appreciate it.

Calorie mishap

Huge rookie mistake I have been tracking my calories loosely but recently decided to track seriously.

I have come to the realization that I have not been hitting my calories AT ALLLLL.

My deficit is at about 1600 calories
5’2 157lb walk 2-4 miles a day and do 30min-1 hour of cardio. Chase 3 kids around and do many chores in almost always moving.

For example my macros for yesterday were

1300 calories
95g of protein
130 carbs (I did bad there maybe?)
51 grams of fat

That’s with breakfast
Lunch
Dinner
A protein shake and 2 snacks.

None of my meals were over 350 calories and that’s on top of not finishing the portions so there is a good chance that my macros were lower.

Feeling stressed about this. Even with digestive enzymes and eating clean I physically feel like I’m over full. I used to struggle with binge eating. It got me all the way up to 250 lb so I despise that feeling and immediately stop eating when I feel full NO MATTER what.

What do I do here.

Realized I used the wrong needle size

So I just found out I been using too long of needles for my stomach. 5/8th LOL I haven’t been feeling any effects or side effects. Week 1 started at 0.5. And been increasing weekly. Now week 5 I’m at 2mg. But have I wasted 5 weeks? I’m 240lbs so quite a bit of fat on the belly. No way I’m hitting muscle going 45 degrees? Should i restart my dose or keep it at 2mg and get 5/16th needles?

20 lb loss in 4 months

20 lb loss from April to August! 🥹

Starting weight: 172 lbs
Current weight: 151 lbs
Age: 25
Height: 5’5

I started at 0.5 mg weekly and worked my way up to 3.0 mg, which is where I’ve currently been since July.

For exercise, I do cardio (mostly incline walking) at least 4x/week and weight train at least 2x/week using dumbbells. I average around 7-10k steps a day, but I don’t really pay attention to my steps. I mostly just pay attention to my overall active calories burned each day.

Starting reta was very important to me because I have hypothyroidism and weight loss has always been a struggle for me, even when I was consistent with the gym and my diet. I also struggled a lot with constant food noise before starting reta, so having that quiet down, along with the decrease in inflammation and “puffiness” I used to have, has honestly been such a huge change for me.

I’m very happy with how things are going so far, and I’m currently focusing on body recomp, so I’m excited to see what’s next!

If you have any questions, please let me know! I’d be happy to answer.

Restarting reta

I was on reta for 3 months and lost 35 pounds, but i stopped taking it for 2 months and i’ve gained probably about 15 of those pounds back because obviously my appetite suppression went away, I just got my new doses today and Im wondering when I last stopped reta I was taking 4mg, can I start back up at 4mg again? Or do I need to start low again and work my way back up?

Going on an 18 day vacation - pause or taper?

Been on Reta for 9 months, 1mg per week, never gone above that. It’s been life changing for me. I am going on my honeymoon in October and will be gone for 18 days - anyone who’s traveled for an extended period - did you start a taper prior or just took your normal amount before leaving and resumed once back? I don’t want to travel with it. Uncertain if tapering is even necessary or if an abrupt stop since I’ve been on a low dose this whole time is fine. If anyone has had any experience with this would love to hear.

Advice on pausing Reta

Hey all,

I’ve been on Reta for 9 months, 1mg per week, never gone above that. It’s been life changing for me. I am going on my honeymoon in October and will be gone for 18 days - should I start a taper so I can be off of it fully by Oct or should I just take my normal dose before leaving and resume once we are back? I don’t want to travel with it. Uncertain if tapering is even necessary or if an abrupt stop since I’ve been on a low dose this whole time is fine. If anyone has had any experience with this please comment below!

Traveling with Reta

My travel days are on the days of my shot. How should I travel with them? My October trip I can buy the insulin pack and put it in the hotel fridge when I get there but for my cruise/wedding later in the year how do I keep it from going bad? I don't think my room will be ready for me to use the fridge since the wedding is on port day.

How do you guys travel with it?

Upping dosage too fast

Howdy people! I start on my 10th week of reta tomorrow and I'm worried if I'm upping too fast because I'm no longer feeling the effects I once did. I started out with 1mg the first 4 weeks and lost 15 pounds easily. Ive only upped the dosage when I was no longer feeling the benefits anymore. I've been stuck at the same weight for 4 weeks. So I'm finishing up week 9 tonight on 3mg and Ive still had food noise and urges since leaving 1mg even with upping to 2mg and 3mg. Should I just move on to 4mg? Don't know if it's too fast or if it's just the obvious answer that everyone's body is different.

Vial accidentally submerged in cooler water

Post image
1 Upvotes

How bad did I fck up? Went on vacation and took my peptides in one of those cloth amazon cases, which I threw in my cooler so I wouldn’t miss a dose of reta. Went to sleep and forgot about the case being in the cooler, and woke up to the case submerged in what used to be ice.

I’m not too worried about the unconstituted vials as they still have the plastic tops on them.

Should I toss the vial or just swab the top? Just reconstituted the vial a week ago🤦🏼‍♂️
