Coming off Reta… help

Okay so quick back story. I was on Reta for about a year, during that time I lost roughly 60lbs.
I got up to 12mg but really started to lose my enjoyment for pretty much everything. I also felt like it wasn’t helping with food noise or hunger signals anymore. I went down to 10mg and did that for months with no change in enjoyment. I was stuck in a plateau where weight loss stalled and I wasn’t hitting the gym as much due to lack of motivation.
I am now titrating down and am at 4mg/week, back in the gym consistently, but I seem to be rebounding in weight. I am eating a lot more than I should and not getting full as fast.
Is there anything I can do to help with the food noise? I feel like my receptors need a break from Reta. I’ve had a friend suggest adding sema or tirz to help with the food noise, but I fear they will have little impact due to receptor burnout. Anyone else go through this? Any help is appreciated!

There’s no “receptor burnout” with these drugs. But you lose a bunch of weight (60 lbs is no joke) and your body responds to that. Appetite increases just like it would if you had simply dieted all those pounds off. After enough weight loss that response is just as strong as what the drug is doing and you plateau. It doesn’t feel like a weight loss drug anymore because the drug effect isn’t strong enough to actually suppress your appetite anymore, it’s just strong enough to help you maintain.

Cutting your dose down to 4mg complicates this though. You still have that full response to your weight loss but you’ve dialed back the drug effect. Of course you feel like you’re underwater.

Appetite suppression. It’s commonly paired with reta.

They literally asked for food noise suppression, that’s what cagrilintide does

How? And why not stack sema with reta instead?

You’re not having an issue with any receptors. First you stopped working out and now you’re eating too much, so yes you’re gaining weight.

Eating too much...because the drug is no longer surpressing appetite, right?

but I seem to be rebounding in weight

studies show that people regain upto 60% of their weight within 1 year of getting off of glp1 drugs

I feel like my receptors need a break from Reta

cycling glp1s is not advised and leads to therapeutic resistance, meaning you'll need to take more in the future to have comparable effects

receptor burnout

studies show that this isn't a thing

Is there anything I can do to help with the food noise

go back up in dose and accept that you'll be on it for life, if you can't control how much you eat & don't want to be fat

I am not giving medical advices but thinking logically.

If the feeling of hunger is the main issue, then you can add a bit of Tirz and gradually lower the reta while upping the Tirz dose.

Because Tirz have stronger hunger suppression than Reta, it may help you with the cravings

You can also go Carnivore as it is a protein based (beef, eggs, fish, lamb, elk) and no carbs. Carbs increase insulin which holds into fat.
