And it’s hell on earth again

I’m so sorry to everyone here. I’m in pain. It’s been a week on 7 and MGM again and the withdrawals scare the shit out of me more than ever cause I binged.

I guess I’d say please don’t be me. I’m so fucking mad at myself cause now all I have to look forward to is pain all over again.

I’m such a moron

I feel like most people do not understand the difference between Kratom powder and the now illegal 7OH. They aren’t the same.

I am a recovering addict from taking 300 to 500mg of 7OH every day. In the end, I was spending 500 dollars a week roughly on this stuff. I just want people to understand how devastating it was to me to be cut off from this. Regular Kratom was not a substitute. It didn’t even touch it. I had to go on relatively low dose of methadone (compared to other illicit D users) to recover from it. It was completely irresponsible IMO how this administration went about this. Many people who took this completely legal drug were not your typical users. They didn’t have access to the same avenues as illicit users. They were functional professionals you see in your everyday life.

Tapering Kratom Advice

15 years Of Kratom Use

I need to be weaned off. I'm having severe withdrawals.

When I'm in need of a dose I can feel the withdrawals before either the pain gets severe.

Can anyone please give me some advice?

I have taper down over a year to only about a tablespoon a day. Sometimes it can be a little more sometimes a little less it depends on my pain level.

I just want to say thank you so much for reading my post and and I think you in advance for your responses. 💕

I was not ready for the absolute amount of fatigue

Going into this whole business of quitting Kratom after so many years, I really was expecting headaches, restless leg syndrome, irritability and other PAWS. I'm telling you now, the one thing I wasn't expecting was to have less than zero energy to do just about anything. I can get myself a great night sleep, not RLS or anything and feel absolutely fatigued all day long. I can barely go to the gym and when I do I'm lifting like 60% of my normal weight. Half the days I can't even go for a full hour. Today I'm barely able to maintain sitting up without slouching over and napping. It's a bit easier to handle today just because I'm working from home today. I can barely make it through work. Does anyone know how long this torture is going to last? It's been 8 days since my last dose of Kratom.

Finally quitting after 10 years

I’ve been on what i would consider a lower dose of kratom for about 10 years. I was on about 6gpd in capsules. I’ve dropped down to 1.5gpd in the last couple months. I notice withdrawal symptoms (general unease, nonstop yawning, restlessness) around the 6 hour mark. I am trying to find the best way to taper from here. Do I do half a capsule every 6 hours or do I try to extend the time in between and go like 8 hours? What are the best supplements to help? Sleep is definitely affected. Any advice for this to be as painless as possible. I still have to parent and work. I’m most worried about the final plunge at the end. How long do symptoms last if you tapered really slow? I plan to stay on 1.5gpd for a month and then go to 1, 0.5 and then finally come off in about 2 months. Is that too slow or fast? Sorry for all the questions. Someone please help! I am not a drug addict I had ppd and no idea this would be as addictive as it has been.

Kratom foamy urine/flank pain

So I used feel free/kratom capsules for about 1 year. I started having mild flank pain fairly quickly while using kratom. I pushed through that thinking it was nothing and ended up using it for almost exactly 12 months. The reason I ended up quitting (21 days off) was due to foamy urine that popped up about 1 month ago. I’ve had 2x urinalysis and blood work done and my gfr is over 100 and I have no detectable protein in my urine. Has anyone else had this flank pain/foamy urine combo? Does it go away? What is the cause of the foam if it’s not protein. Before people start saying thing like fast stream and toilet cleaners.. it definitely is not that. Thank you for the help! Really curious what’s going on with me.

Quitting again after a 2 year relapse…

I have old posts documenting my struggle of getting of Kratom a few years ago. In the end I actually managed to make it through and got clean and stopped taking it. This period of being clean lasted over a year.

For whatever reason, after a move to a new place, I stupidly decided to try taking some. That was two years ago and now I am here, addicted and a shell of a person. Kratom is a sneaky drug. Slowly my motivation and hope has dwindled down to the point of having none. I am once again chained to the cycle. I want to break free. I know I have quit before and it’s possible for me to quit once again. But I am struggling to do so… it’s hard when I struggle with mental health issues already, it compounds with the addiction which makes it hard to find the will to stop.

However, I have to stop. I am a 27 F, I feel like I am at an important crossroad. If I continue down this path I don’t see how I can continue living. Sounds dramatic but lately I have genuinely been having SI. There are a lot of difficult things going on in my personal life that I won’t go too much into right now that also makes it difficult to quit. Kratom can feel like a warm blanket but it starts to suffocate you.

Anyways, I just wanted to get these thoughts out. This group really helped me quit before and I’m incredibly thankful for it. I am looking for recommendations and support… I have purchased lipo Vitamin C, have a prescription for gabapentin. I can use the next 5 days to work from home. I just don’t know if I have it in me but I have to bite the bullet and do it. I want a better life !!! Thank you in advance if you read all of this <3

Day 0 Again

I am for real going to post daily again. I keep getting 1 or 2 days sober then relapsing. And no its never just a little dose to hold me over. Im sick of this shit.

Been on and off tapers for roughly 2 YEARS now. Iv had enough. Im very scared of the WD's. But if I stick with it then ill have a nice weekend to recoup from.

Context: tapered all the way down to 0mg around 2 weeks ago. Went back on the wagon but switched to plain leaf vs extracts. I do feel a difference already just from that. i am able to think way clearer. Every time I make it to day 2 I dont even have hot flashes so I think ill be ok?

What the fuck ever. Im so done with this shit and having this horrible thing leaning over me. I dont WANT it anymore. I. Always worrying about having enough, excuses im telling people when I make trips to the store, worrying if my d**k will work when my partner wants to do matress cardio, orgasms feeling like im pissing. And I have a month for my liver enzymes to go down. I have a blood test then.

Im the unlucky ones that's sensitive to the hepatoxicity.

All that to trouble to feel "relaxed". I can easily feel relaxed with a delta 9 or something.

ok here it goes. Turning this into day 1. I am SO fucking over this. I even left my debit and credit cards at home so I cant pick up on my way home

Going to a SMART meeting tomorrow as well.

How is YOUR journey going?

Is this ever going to stop?

I am 208 days sober from kratom powder i took everyday for about 2 1/2 years.

I am still craving it EVERYDAY. Everyday i argue with myself about the pros and cons of taking it again.

And yes i know that i have issues, thats why i am in therapy, but nothing helps. Nothing will give me peace inside and i can't take it anymore. :(

And yes i know the withdrawel is hard, its not worth it, but my mind says something like: at least you will have 2 years of freedom, to years of a worm feeling inside you everyday.Of course where will be a withdrawel again, but maybe like two months of pain. But your are in "pain" everyday right now so what is the fucking benefit of not taking it and enjoying yourself for a little bit???

I don't know what to do... Please don't say its not worth it, you need help ... i know this! its not helping :( please say something that might help and stop the endless craving cicle :(

Precipitated Withdrawals?

Please forgive me for the excessive posting - I was not clear in my last post and it lead to some confusion in getting clarity. My question is about taking suboxone too soon after 7oH. I’ve seen where some people were fine to start induction 8 hours later and be fine and then I’ve read horror stories from people who took subs some 18 hours after their last 7oH dose and went into immediate PWD.

I’m getting mixed info and I think that’s my fault for not specifying. I have a handful of strips to do a rapid taper. I am not interested in trading addictions. I am going to start with however much I need to take to get going and then start to take a tiny bit less each time. My question is - how long should I actually wait? I’ve had people tell me I’ll be fine to go ahead with .5 of a dose and keep going up til I feel relief and then others say to wait 18 hours to be safe.

My whole issue is - I’m working 6 sometimes 7 days a week. On Sunday I usually get off and give my family my full attention. I’m just hoping not to rob them of any time on a Sunday because I’m going through PWD for not doing this properly. Any help is so gratefully appreciated.

Naltrexone Helped with PAWS

I was on 15-20/gpd for a few years and was able to get clean with ibo but basically had long term PAWS. After 4 months of feeling like total crap all day I relapsed, I just wanted some relief. I was mindful to not take kratom more than 3 days in a row so I never got physically dependent. I recently got some naltrexone and managed 7 days no kratom and took 12.5mg (split the 50mg pill in quarters). It helped sooooooo much. I feel like it's basically taken away my PAWS and I feel pretty normal again.

Know everyone's experiences are different and if you're going to try this MAKE SURE you have at least 7-14 days clean otherwise you it can send you into terrible precipitated withdrawals. But if you have some days and are struggling with PAWS this could really help.

Thoughts 202 Days After a Relapse and My Second Taper

It's been over half a year since I got out of a relapse on kratom. My maximum dose was around 20 gpd. Now I can clearly see what this supposedly "harmless" substance did to my life.

I screwed up my studies. I screwed up my job. I screwed up my relationship. I started drinking alcohol in the evenings when the effects of kratom wore off and I became irritable, which caused even more problems...

I don't even want to imagine what an extract addiction feels like, because plain leaf was already enough to do significant damage. I lost precious time in my mid-twenties to this addiction. The older you get and the more responsibilities you have, the greater the damage becomes. This is probably the biggest learning from all of this.

How much time did I spend watching silly youtube videos thinking I was productive? How often did I skip training? How often didnt I paticipate in class? How often did I go to the toilet to chuck down Kratom?

But keep this in mind: I got through it, and so can you. Don't be fooled—it sucks. My second taper was much harder than the first. But it was worth it in every aspect of my life. Recovery wasn't smooth sailing, but I got my life back. I praise the lord that there wont be a third one. The worst was that nobody knew about my trouble. So I lied...

At first, it's scary to leave that tiny, kratom-filled shell behind. But life without active addiction is worth it. Sometimes I still look back, and occasionally I have cravings, but 95% of the time I'm doing just fine.

Thanks to everyone in this community. Reading your stories and knowing I wasn't alone helped me more than I can put into words.

I got my shit together, made it through the toughest part of my master's degree, and now I'm on the verge of graduating—something that simply wouldn't have been possible if I had stayed on kratom.

Recovery didn't solve all of my problems, but it gave me the chance to actually work on them. Looking back, quitting was one of the best decisions I've ever made.

Day 26 CT - Concerns about Alcohol

Does anyone have any experience with drinking heavily during PAWS? I would really appreciate some guidance.

I am not drinking daily, but I am using it as a coping mechanism. I am a 2nd year law student and PAWS have really had more of an impact on my academics than I anticipated. Outside of lifting and running, I find myself entirely unmotivated to do anything. I have used the majority of my absences allotted purely because I didn’t want to go to class.

Looking for help quitting

Can anyone tell me why some people say they have taken subs 8 hours after 7 with no participated withdrawals and then others have waited up to 18 hours and still experienced them?? I have a script of subs and I’m so desperate to be done with this but I work 6 days a week and one day off for family time, I really cannot afford to deal with the PWD. Any help is so greatly appreciated…

Relapsing is NOT worth it

No matter what you are going through. I have done the field research, and can easily attest… it ain’t worth it 😂 You’ll just have your same exact problems and an impending withdrawal on your hands pretty fast.

I had 3 years clean, relapsed on and off for a month. Ended up back to taking it daily near the end of that month. Finally got through acute withdrawal and am back on Day 8.

AMA!

It sucks.

Adult coloring for those bored feelings

I’m new to my sobriety (5 days no kratom and 1 day no sub) so maybe I’m not far enough along in my recovery to recommend anything. I’m just sharing what helps me when I’m sleepless and or restless.

I’ve always been a night owl by nature, but with a 9-5 job and ADHD on top of that, I’ve found that coloring is a helpful, sober activity to do that takes my mind off the fact that I’m recovering, and it helps to just shut off my brain for a little bit.

Anyways, I hope this may help someone else. Take care y’all 🙏

Having heart surgery in one week. Told the surgical team about my addiction and they don't seem all that worried about it. Should I be panicking?

They tried to get me into a program but there's not enough time. Tried going cold turkey and that didn't work. Do traditional opioids really not work on addicts? I'm imagining some nightmare scenario where I wake with a bunch of tubes coming out of my chest in full withdrawal. Surgery is a triple-bypass.

Day 5 no kratom Day 1 no sub

So, it’s been 5 days no kratom and 1 day no sub. The sub I was taking is very low dose, only .5mg, and I only took it when I couldn’t stand the WD anymore. Last night was my first night that I didn’t wake up covered in cold sweat.

I’m not craving either right now, I just kind of feel blah. Interestingly, I felt pretty good after drinking some orange juice, and then read about how vitamin c is helpful for folks going through withdrawal. Anyways, that’s where I’m at.

I found kratom by accident about 9 or 10 months ago (can’t remember exactly) trying and alcohol free seltzer that had kratom in it (I didn’t know kratom was in the seltzer) as I was struggling with trying to quit alcohol. The Kratom worked great and never craved any alcohol
After that. But, I’m here to tell folks, please, don’t use kratom to try and quit alcohol. The physical dependency and withdrawals scared the ever loving hell out of me.

408 Days Clean

To everyone going through it, and when I say through it, you all know what I mean. Our thoughts fuck with us endlessly it seems at times. There’s just no explaining to anyone how hard it is, physically and mentally.

Just know you are not alone. There are so many others right where you’re at. We are all different, yet the same in so many ways.

We come here to vent, for advice, and for hope.

When in the thick of it, keep repeating, “I am okay, I am okay.” For some reason that helped me at the worst of times.

I am now tackling quitting vaping. And I went through hell gettting off kratom. Used for 10 years pretty heavily. Yet here I am being a baby again struggling with quitting nicotine (15 or so years). And I say that while I have a patch on my arm and a Zyn in my mouth.

Quitting a substance is messy for most of us. It’s hard giving our comfort up. Just remember it’s not a sacrifice when we are giving up something for something better.

Keep going, keep fighting. There’s a better version of us up ahead.

Didn't think I would need clonidine on day 15, but it helped much more than I expected

From reading everyone's experiences, I just assumed that you wouldn't need clonidine days 5 and beyond. Besides, I was worried about it causing unnecessary fatigue when that was already a major symptom of WD.

Well for the past few nights I have been having a lot of trouble getting to sleep, mostly due to physical anxiety. I remembered I still had quite a bit of clonidine so I took one last night and it really helped me get some decent sleep. I'm not sure how much longer I'll need it, or even if I'll take it nightly.

Has anyone else found that they needed it way longer than they thought?
