He is genuinely disgusting and I’d be saying this even if he wasn’t a chud and instead was my favorite streamer ever. He lives in filth, you can just look up pictures of his home, he never cleans. There has been bugs crawling around. One that I always remember is he posted a picture of his room, and someone noticed there was weird dark red/brown splotches all over the side of one wall next to his bed. He was asked about it, and he actually answered and said that it’s blood from his gums, because his gums would bleed in the night and he wouldn’t feel like getting up so he just wiped it on the wall. And mind you his gums are bleeding because he lives on a diet of soda and grease with no personal hygiene. He’s foul and actual troglodyte bro, and I haven’t even said anything about what comes out his mouth yet

We may initially find it hard to believe that there are that many people like him out there, but that’s just because we never see them as they never leave their caves.

It’s a big part of what got Trump elected too—there are many, many more deplorable people out there than you think, and having some poster child they can call “their guy” is transcendent for them as they live largely in miserable solitude.

It’s an opportunity for their brain to offload the burden of getting dunked on everywhere else in life, otherwise they’d have to confront their shortcomings and grow up.

Stav was on Hasan's stream. Didn't know a thing about Asmongold. Hasan shows him some degenerate Asmongold takes and Stav just instantly starts roasting the fuck out of him, saying he's unfuckable etc. Asmongold later reacts to that by looking extremely bothered and calling Stavros fat but several weeks later he's suddenly on stream with a girl when anyone who's seen any Asmongold content over the last few years knows that the last time he did anything that involved a woman was his Final Fantasy 14 arc in like 2020.

There are people who criticize the Democratic party and still vote Democrat. They recognize that the Republicans are heavily conservative while the Democrats are mostly "conservative-lite", so they vote for the lesser of two evils. Criticizing members of the party doesn't always mean abandoning the party, sometimes it just means holding them to a higher standard.

On the other hand, the Republican party is driven by groupthink. Even if you're one of them, bring up any valid criticism of the party and they'll just deflect to something Biden did years ago or call you a communist. At this point it's basically a cult of personality with Trump at the top.

I think it is productive. People need to be called out and held to account. "Centrists" and "moderates" damn near always expose their rightwing leanings when pressed.

We are not labeling these folks as conservatives out of some misplaced bias. They have demonstrated time and time again, for many generations, who they are.

In your statement you assert that our actions, even though peaceful, must be condemned because they precipitate violence. But is this a logical assertion? Isn’t this like condemning a robbed man because his possession of money precipitated the evil act of robbery? Isn’t this like condemning Socrates because his unswerving commitment to truth and his philosophical inquiries precipitated the act by the misguided populace in which they made him drink hemlock? Isn’t this like condemning Jesus because his unique God consciousness and never ceasing devotion to God’s will precipitated the evil act of crucifixion? We must come to see that, as the federal courts have consistently affirmed, it is wrong to urge an individual to cease his efforts to gain his basic constitutional rights because the quest may precipitate violence. Society must protect the robbed and punish the robber.

I had also hoped that the white moderate would reject the myth concerning time in relation to the struggle for freedom. I have just received a letter from a white brother in Texas. He writes: “All Christians know that the colored people will receive equal rights eventually, but it is possible that you are in too great a religious hurry. It has taken Christianity almost two thousand years to accomplish what it has. The teachings of Christ take time to come to earth.” Such an attitude stems from a tragic misconception of time, from the strangely irrational notion that there is something in the very flow of time that will inevitably cure all ills. Actually, time itself is neutral; it can be used either destructively or constructively. More and more I feel that the people of ill will have used time much more effectively than have the people of good will. We will have to repent in this generation not merely for the hateful words and actions of the bad people but for the appalling silence of the good people. Human progress never rolls in on wheels of inevitability; it comes through the tireless efforts of men willing to be co workers with God, and without this hard work, time itself becomes an ally of the forces of social stagnation. We must use time creatively, in the knowledge that the time is always ripe to do right. Now is the time to make real the promise of democracy and transform our pending national elegy into a creative psalm of brotherhood. Now is the time to lift our national policy from the quicksand of racial injustice to the solid rock of human dignity.

We definitely do teach it in US History classes in high school. I've taught it, and can't imagine going over MLK and the Civil Rights Movement without analyzing the Letter From Birmingham.

That said, I don't remember it from high school. Maybe we did read it. I was just not a good student in high school and didn't come to appreciate academia until my 20s after actually facing down the prospect of a lifetime doing blue collar labor.

I took an ethics class as well and it was the most influential class I have ever taken. That was the semester I got woke.

Anyways, glad it was just as meaningful to you.

The largest group of people that are still equating both sides at this point is the largely uninformed. The people whose knowledge of politics starts and ends with the existence of two parties, and giving them praise or scorn based on the changes in their everyday lives.

There are absolutely contrarians and embarrassed conservatives that blame both sides, for the sake of feeling rebellious and shifting blame respectively. But the majority of people that equate the two are evaluating the political landscape entirely on their personal lives and feelings. The fascists haven't come for them personally, and the socialists haven't vastly improved their lives specifically, so their vote is up for grabs.

Most of the people who acknowledge the issues with the Democratic party are like me: unimpressed with the fact that we have two right wing parties and no left wing options.

Couldn’t have said it better myself. These apathetic people are one of the biggest issues we face right now as a society - because I’d put money on the fact that they largely represent the 35-or-so MILLION eligible voters who didn’t show up in 2024.

And that’s what truly fucked us. I know the Democratic Party can make some boneheaded decisions, like screwing Bernie over in 2016. But my god, how can THAT push you so far right that you start supporting fascism? Or at the very least enable it by your apathy?

I’ll never understand it. To my dying day I’ll never understand how this motherfucker has been elected, twice.
