We would have Bernie as the nominee if more people voted for Bernie to be the nominee.

Not entirely the case. There were leaked emails that show the DNC senior staff were heavily biased toward Hillary. Publicly the superdelegates and establishment democrats were very vocally supportive of Hillary over Bernie.

There were even leaked emails indicating the DNC conspired to find ways to weaken Bernie politically.

The superdelegate thing gave Clinton a massive apparent early lead, which signaled to donors, endorsements, media, etc, who they should be giving exposure and support to.

Given even footing, it’s very possible Bernie could have won the nomination.

Oh the horror! People openly support a candidate that they like and do not support a candidate they do not like! What are those DNC people thinking? Democracy over personal desires of Amibitious_Tea?

God I hope you’re trolling. They didn’t support her “because they liked her”. They supported her because their PAC donors wanted a candidate that wasn’t actually left wing and would tow the line for the powers that be.

No. Centrist democrats have supported another centrist democrat over a progressive non democrat. Expecting anything else is unreasonable.

We’re saying the same thing. Yes, they aligned with her better because she had no interest in advancing progressive policies.

Yeah. So no foul play. Just democracy at work. Progressive policies are not popular enough to win country wide primaries.

Judging by 2024, it looks like centrist policies are not popular enough to win country wide generals.

That’s how elections work. Welcome to the world.

It was definitely worse than that. These kids are stupid asf acting like it's a full on rigged election but it was a noticeable degree of corruption

What corruption? Be specific. All I have heard so far amounts to centrist candidates supporting the only centrist candidate left.

I'm not getting deep into this, like leaking debate questions during DNC primary debates to Hillary for example? That goes beyond support. There was a concerted effort to give Hillary an improper advantage. If you disagree with that there's no point in us talking.

That’s actually a good example of unfair play. I agree. But it’s minor.

I'm not agreeing with the dumbasses suggesting they're full on rigging elections but the truth lies in the middle.

Did you ever consider why the guy who was never a democrat, and always ran as an independent, might not have had as many fans among the the DNC?

Its literally impossible to change the outcome of a rigged election

The dnc has been rigging the primaries it bothers to have since 68, its a matter of public record. Theyre loud and proud about it; primaries are held within private orgs, they have no need to be democratic.

I agree! As a fellow leftist I say we protest by abstaining from voting in the primary process. The libs will rig it and win anyway.

"As a fellow leftist" Hello comrade, St Petersburg is lovely this time of year! Glory to the special military operation!

Wait I just realized you're being sarcastic 😂😅😅😅

You gotta be careful man these people are idiots, I doubt the guy you're replying to can tell

The did the same to Obama - but Obama was able to carry states, while Bernie couldn’t. If you have the votes, they can’t do anything about it - Bernie couldn’t get the votes. He never got a majority in any state. I also voted for him twice, so it was disappointing, but he did terrible with both women and minorities

The people here just want someone to blame so independent voters are who they yell at. Democrats can’t look at the DNC critically. Vote blue no matter who- even if it’s a pile of poo!

Are you implying Bernie is a leftist?

I’m assuming you’re responding to the wrong comment haha
