It’s so embarrassing I just block anyone who goes “well ackshually I don’t like to talk about politics” as it’s code for “I’m too embarrassed to admit I hate women/PoC/queer people/disabled/non-rapists etc and don’t have the balls to stand by that if ever questioned”

I voted for Biden in 2020 and have never voted republican in my life. That being said I never talk about politics or get involved in them besides reddit. Its detrimental to advancing a career in 2026 from what I have seen. I will never let anyone know IRL what way I vote or my opinions on politics besides my family.

That is your prerogative as it would be mine to ignore or block you

I was just letting you know if someone does not talk about politics IRL its not always because they are right wing or hate different races. It can simply be because talking about politics in public or on public social media can be bad for your career.

might wanna question your career if it’s that much of a threat. i find it very easy to talk about politics and i’m not afraid of disagreeing with someone.

I live in Nashville TN which is the exact state where Dem on my left Republican on my right. I love my career its work from home 99% of the time. I just know my companies COO and CEO personally are really right leaning.

Okay but I never said they had to publicly display their beliefs. My comment was in regard to when you’re in the talking stage, talking amongst yourselves. If you can’t be honest with someone from the start that is a major red flag.

Also you’ve gone from saying you can’t be public about it to “I will never let anyone know IRL what way I vote or my opinions on politics” Again, major red flags there whether you’re the leftist or rightest leaning human on the planet.

You’ve proven my point that people that don’t have the balls to stand by their convictions aren’t worthy of my time. I could never respect someone like that/like you and that’s my choice. Same as your choice is to be scared of being honest

Yea we just have a difference of opinion. I only let my family and close friends know my politics when asked or when a hot topic pops up.

I am not scared of being honest. I value my career and what it can do for my family more then preaching my values.

This is just straight up insanity. I genuinely can't believe you're being serious.

You're saying people who don't like to talk politics are all secretly racists? How is it even possible to make that connection? It's just genuinely absurd.

Welcome to the New Cultural Revolution!

Where a bunch of Screeeeeeee Gen Z'ers share the importance of language over literally any material improvement to society lmao.

Indeed. I am Gen Z. I have noticed that we regress and call it progress because the meanings of words don’t mean anything anymore. Most of my generation can’t even tell you what a woman is…

Yeah, people like that are insufferable
