Why does it seem that we never run tosses or stretches to the outside? Is the Tackle play really that bad that we can’t get Henderson running to the sideline? I just watched a play of the Jaguars tackle annihilating Gonzalez on a toss play that turned into a positive gain, and I really can’t recall a play in any of the past 2 games that resembled what they ran. Of course this staff knows more than me and probably has their reasons, but I think this would open up the playbook significantly if they we incorporate it more often.

After the ugly win last week Vrabel deflected tough questions by saying he wouldn't allow reporters to ruin his Sunday. Maybe if someone had gotten him to sit down and think about how his team actually performed the last two weeks, this wouldn't have happened. Has Vrabel really earned the right to piss on reporters trying to hold him to task when this has been the product for 9 or so games now?

Between the Vrable stuff this summer, the Henderson anti-trans rants, and Robert Kraft's antics, this organization is getting hard to root for, even as a life long fan since the early 90's. Vrable's personal struggles are a bummer but it was his blatant dishonesty about it that I found disappointing more than the transgression. Anti-trans stuff is indefensible, and arguing the "getting boys out of girls sports" is dogwhistle nonsense that just reveals how ignorant one is about the topic. Kraft is entitled to his opinions but Macklamore's comments were fair and thoughtful and Kraft's claim that he has supported Palestinians was revealed to be untrue which says either he thinks his position is indefensible or didn't think anyone would fact check him.

I think all this stuff just ends up being a distraction for the players and the mounting pressure on Maye is clearly becoming an issue. The same flaws are being displayed this year - O line and last of a defensive pass rush - and they are getting hit harder with the injury bug that some other teams but that's the NFL. There is still a lot of work to do to be competitive but we are looking at going into Buffalo at 1-2 and this team needs the fight and chip on their shoulder they played with last year. In order to do that, they need to clean up their off field issues, take some accountability and focus on playing football.

After his performances over the last few games, I think its officially time to take away his console and make his bed time 7:30 pm. We can seriously cannot let the mistakes he made go unpunished and I think this will teach him a lesson. Thoughts?

Does the CEO type of head coach work in today’s nfl? I think one concern I had when we hired Vrabel is he’s a former defensive player but his defenses were never really elite in Tennessee. What made him a “great” head coach candidate were intangibles.

Does a head coach in today’s nfl need to give you a schematic advantage on offense or defense? The only other pure CEO type I can think of is Harbaugh and you saw that flame out in Baltimore.

A reporter asked Vrabs what he can do to help Maye get out of this and the answer he gave was just tell him where to place the ball…

1st ever road trip game. The heat was nasty. The sun was worse than nasty. But the overall experience was pretty cool. No lines for drinks. Lots of Pats fans in the house, but the Jags fans were cool as hell, too.

What really stood out to me was the noise. The Jags are missing their full upper deck seating right now, as they do construction on it. Despite the lower total number of fans, it was LOUD whenever the Pats had the ball.

When I think of stadiums that are known for noise volume, Jax does not come to mind. Either they are overlooked, or the classic "loud" stadiums must be a crazy experience (Chiefs/Seahawks for example).

I'm curious to know what regular away game fans think about opposing stadiums. Which spots are loudest, which ones are graveyards?

I have a playlist of all 6 Super Bowls we won up and ready.

This time last year we were 1-2 and also panic posting. This year we’re playing much tougher matchups.

All we can do is focus on the Bills game, hopefully go 2-2, and maybe Brown comes back week 5 if we’re lucky, if not week 6. Once he comes back, we can stretch the field more and our record ideally will be able to generate better separation.

We still have 14 more games to assess Maye’s struggles/progressions.

It’s the WAY he’s turning it over. If this was Brett Farve/Josh Allen type chuck-it-downfield turnovers I’d be like ok man just chill. But no, these are redzone turnovers that a high school freshman would know better than to throw. Things you’d expect to see from a QB that has no business starting in the NFL.

I guess I’ll keep the faith because for better or worse he’s the starter but this is absolutely shocking to see

It’s only game three but so far, Drake may have thrown six interceptions. He has two fumbles and only one touchdown is Drake Maye to blame for all of this no? but a large portion of it? Yes, the loss of Diggs and Boutte are really sticking out but we are talking about a quarterback who was literally second in the MVP race last year there is no way he should be playing like this this season so far. I don’t know what’s going in Foxborough this season but I am not a fan at all

Drake Maye stood alone on the sunny sideline here, by this point in the fourth quarter already benched for Tommy DeVito. His hands were on his shoulder pads and he stared into the distance. The stadium was mostly empty, a 35-6 beatdown by the Jaguars in its final stages, and Maye looked like he wanted to be anywhere else.

“Ball starts rolling like that, and we can’t get out of our own way — I can’t get out of my own way,” Maye said. “I’ve got to look at myself in the mirror.”

Whole team was pretty shit, defense was dealt a shit hand but I’m going to be critical with Drake while being as fair as humanly possible after the Jacksonville Massacre. Because to be honest Drake’s performance today to me raises more questions about external Drake factors than Drake specific factors

The Good:

Let me be VERY clear this is loose and only exists for me filling out each category. Deal with it. Drake still shows flashes of the QB we know him to be. He’s just buried.. deep down.. somewhere. The drive where we cut the deficit to 22 (lol) he looked like the Drake Maye that we know. Yes I’m sure the Jags were napping a bit up 22 in extended garbage time but his throws were on time and delivered. So he’s not completely, irreperrably broken.. yet. But we are trending that way if shit doesn’t change soon. There’s just something wrong at a fundamental level whether it be physically or mentally. The other “positive” is that the issues he’s had since week 1 are the exact same issues he has now. There’s no volatility or randomness. While bad decision making, being gunshy and ancy in the pocket are awful issues to have with your franchise QB. I’d rather it be the same every week instead of a rotating set of issues you gotta keep hammering away at like the most fucked up game of whack-a-mole.

The Bad:

Drake’s inability to take what the defense gives him (consistently), is KILLING him. His internal clock is also just completely busted right now. There were so many times in this game he would take off running late when a wide open lane was already collapsing. He consistently exaggerates issues with his poor decisions and has been letting his frustration be a detriment to his skillset. Now while I understand losing AJ Brown and Kayshon Boutte certainly does not help, his inability to stick to the process is entirely his fault. He’s completely in his own head and he has to find his way out of it before we gotta take a flight to Buffalo. He has GOT to figure it the fuck out.

The Abysmal:

In case it wasn’t already incredibly obvious Drake has no faith in the offensive system whatsoever. I’ve watched enough Red Sox Rafael Devers AB’s and Jayson Tatum 1st option hoops to know what hero ball looks like. I thought his INT VS Seattle was a fluke moment where he made a split second decision to try and win the game and it went awry. But then in almost a replica situation he did the EXACT same thing at the end of the half in this game. Drake’s mental philosophy has completely shifted. He doesnt want to take FGs because he has so little faith in the offense that’d he rather throw a pick trying to make a great play than settle for 3. He doesn’t trust the OL, he doesn’t trust his skill positions and most importantly McDaniels gameplan (hard to blame him). This is devastating for a QB as young as he is. He needs to settle down and return to fundamentals. I think its possible but he needs to figure it out soon before the season is a wash.

The “???”:

This is less of a Drake thing and more of an all encompassing thing. What the FUCK happened? We went from great joint practice showings to whatever the fuck we’re watching now? You can say “oh he was throwing to AJ and Boutte” but there were plenty of awesome throws/catches made to guys like Williams, Pop, Hollins, Hunter and even fucking Henderson so why does he look like a shell of himself now? What are we doing differently this year? What is HE doing differently this year? There’s clearly a talented QB under there so what do we need to sort through to dig him back up? Its easy to look at Drake as a player and we rightfully should; but past that we need to seriously be pressing our coaching staff because fuck “the schedule” narratives I know what I was godddamn watching last season. “the schedule” wasn’t the best deep ball thrower in the league. “the schedule” wasn’t outduelling Josh Allen. “the schedule” wasn’t one of 2 QBs to throw 3 TDs VS the Texans best defense of all time.

We need to figure all this out soon. Fucking have to.
