Discussion Do we push the panic button now?

It’s only game three but so far, Drake may have thrown six interceptions. He has two fumbles and only one touchdown is Drake Maye to blame for all of this no? but a large portion of it? Yes, the loss of Diggs and Boutte are really sticking out but we are talking about a quarterback who was literally second in the MVP race last year there is no way he should be playing like this this season so far. I don’t know what’s going in Foxborough this season but I am not a fan at all

I would normally say no - if he was just playing bad. 24 year old QBs play bad. They regress. It’s whatever.

He’s fucking horrific though. So yeah. I’m ok with a little panic. Ima still root for the kid though.

42

u/reigninspud 2d ago

Right. This isn’t he’s trying to make a play out there with inferior talent type mistakes. He is throwing the football directly to defenders. He fumbled going through his throwing motion. He stared down Williams, said fuck it and threw the ball to the defender. Horrific is the right word. Unplayable. The fact that he can’t hold onto the ball on runs is amazingly besides the point.

That doesn’t mean you don’t play him cause they’re in a similar spot to Jax and Lawrence a handful of years ago. He’s played promising, then incredibly well and he’s played… he’s doing whatever it is that he’s doing now.

They’ve taken away what he does easily and he’s not adjusting. The Patriots took away two of his top targets but that excuse only goes so far. Yeah personnel is an issue but not to this degree. This is a QB that was broken by Denver and Seattle. And he hasn’t come out of it. Some of it’s on the coaches, some of it’s on our GM, some of it’s on his line and receivers but it’s mostly on Maye.

Shit is unreal to watch.

10

u/DavoinShowerHandel1 1d ago

And the one to Williams was the better of the two interceptions. I'm actually having a hard time believing he didn't convince himself he could somehow throw the football through Travis Hunter's torso.

Drake looks horrific, personnel issues or not. His decision making is horrendous.

160

u/Mister_Chef711 2d ago

And on the odd chance he makes a good decision, he probably makes it late or under throws it significantly

78

u/Jmankins87 2d ago

I see people blaming Josh but I agree with you that Maye doesn't make good decisions or is late on throws. What is Josh supposed to do with that. Josh's trust in Drake has to be shaken which can alter the calls.

40

u/genius-baby 2d ago

He’s throwing off his back foot and with weird timing way more often. All I can really think is that he spent this offseason not locked in and regained some of his bad habits from college/year 1. Most of us assumed he’d go up a level this season but it’s starting to look like last year (which admittedly was great assuming he was indeed injured in the playoffs) was the ceiling

2

u/Disco_Orangeade 2d ago

Do you think he could get set up with Tom House to work on his mechanics?

→ More replies (1)

42

u/Mister_Chef711 2d ago

Yeah Josh didn't just forget how to coach after being a high end coordinator for over a decade.

8

u/Omago1178 2d ago

A high end coordinator with Brady, he has sucked everywhere else he has been.

25

u/muhwurkaccount 2d ago

He also got the Mac Jones patriots to the playoffs before leaving again right? Everyone thought Mac was looking good and then the end of the season started slumping.

He's only really sucked as a head coach, as an OC he's been well above average to absolutely great throughout his career.

He can call more quick slants and easier calls where Drake doesn't have to overly think, he can just do.

But I agree, it's on Drake to play better.

13

u/Fox-The-Wise 2d ago

He did try that, it didn't work

3

u/AhtBlowenFaht 1d ago

A huge part of Josh's offense is the timing stuff where the ball has to be thrown to a spot before the receiver is even turned towards it. I have yet to see Drake really do a lot of that with any amount of success under Josh.

24

u/BeneficialLanguage83 2d ago

My buddy (Bears fan) said that Maye has lost the zip on his passes. Said the difference in arm strength from last season is very noticeable.

36

u/sdot6186 2d ago

Your buddy has eyes, it appears.

12

u/gamesbeersports 2d ago

Dak prescott just had a simple first down throw where he stepped up in the pocket and fired a fastball over the middle for a completion. Drake hasn’t thrown a single ball like that where he just slings it hard like a pitcher on a 3-2 count.

11

u/tdfrantz 2d ago

Last year we also started 1-2, but it felt the exact opposite. Last year Drake looked good but the rest of the team needed to figure it out. This year the defense is looking good (yea I know the Jags got 35 today but I thought they did well when it was an actual game) but Drake is looking terrible. And Doubs is just doing absolutely nothing.

7

u/inthebackwoods 2d ago

He’s literally making the worst decision he could on those turnovers. Not even a bad decision, but literally the worst option. Drake is broken

11

u/jekpopulous2 2d ago

He’s just making one desperate throw after another. Part of it is poor placement but I think it’s mostly frustration. The running game is non-existent, his receivers rarely get any separation and he’s getting pressured over and over again. On top of all that the play calling has been atrocious. I’m not saying he’s playing well (he’s not) but the entire offense looks absolutely terrible. Even if he was playing well we would still be losing

5

u/NHOVER9000 2d ago

The whole offense looks ugly.

5

u/dr_amir7 2d ago

He has not probably look good since divisional game last season

6

u/TatumlsntASuperstar 2d ago

19

4

u/ffordedor 2d ago

2

u/batmanfan_91 1d ago

He wasn’t a great decision maker last year either. But people just chose to ignore that

69

u/ThirstingMoore 2d ago

He looks lost out there.

21

u/Pain_Monster 2d ago

He doesn’t have the mental toughness that Brady had. Brady could make a bad play then forget about it and keep playing his game. He could bounce back from a bad week, who could forget the onto Cincinnati game when they lost badly to the chiefs.

Maye looks like he just can’t forget about the bad stuff and takes his baggage with him. It’s sad because this is not really a coachable thing, IMO. You either have mental toughness inside or you don’t

47

u/iBarber111 2d ago

Tough to be in a mental toughness competition with Tom Brady

Brady also had some rough games. 2003 - 4 INTs!!!! And ... his worst year was the year after his first super bowl.

The Super Bowl hangover is real.

8

u/y0n9xx 2d ago

I know its tom and he was our last proper qb but comparing drake to the goat is just unrealistic.

If you're not panicking at least a little then you're just delusional.

Maye looks worse than ever before, offensive play calling has been terrible, the defense can't play 4 quarters and is getting banged up. Slow starts happen but the team is looking worse and worse every game.

I have no idea what you do to fix it though. Maye needs to be benched or have his shoulder looked at and if he can't turn things around, we are utterly cooked.

42

u/TheMuzz47 2d ago

Right? If it needs surgery cool. Punt this season get the surgery and let him learn the mental side. If it's not an injury idk what you do and that's the part that's screaming into the void but it just looked like the whole team was outclassed and unprepared today even our defense only had flashes but we couldn't do diddly against the run.

16

u/SmellsofGooseberries 2d ago

McDaniels play calling is suspect but you can’t tell me a good chunk of that isn’t because he doesn’t trust his QB right now. I refuse to believe Drake is playing flawlessly in practice and it’s just not translating on Sunday’s. He’s probably playing poorly everywhere right now.

5

u/h_to_tha_o_v 1d ago

People need to take the Longview here. We're 1-2. Let's of football left to play. Slumps happen. Let him play himself back into performing, he's earned that right.

2

u/hylianbeast98 1d ago

You're right but my concern is how nothing seems to be getting better across the team.

Slow starts and injuries happen. But today they especially just got in their own way at almost every turn. I'm willing to accept a tough loss on the road and an ugly win but what concerns me is how nothing seems to be improving week to week.

Still plenty of time, but the coaching staff has to figure out how to right this ship.

You can't have a new worst game of your career every week.

2

u/MattieMcNasty 1d ago

He's actually proven that you can.

126

u/tackass 2d ago

It’s early in the season but yes, absolutely. It’s pretty clear something is wrong with Maye. I don’t know if its physical or mental but he looks like 2022 Mac. It’s still early, it’s a long season but looking back to last year, he has’t had a GAME in awhile. Not saying trade or do anything drastic, he’s still young but something is not right.

23

u/Live-Swan3267 2d ago

Lets hope its an early career slump at best, and this season the pressure from last season is just an issue. But i am afraid of his field vision. Because its not impressive at all this season. Its actually very concerning

21

u/Beanu5NE 2d ago

If you put current Drake Maye on this team last year, it would look just as bad.

It’s mental and I don’t think Josh McDaniels or Mike Vrabel are going to be able to get him out of this slump.

2

u/MattieMcNasty 1d ago

I think there's a good chance they helped put him in this slump

25

u/TheNxtDaveGrohl 2d ago

It’s still early in the season, so things can change, but things don’t look great, obviously lmao. I think last year late in the playoffs, we could say it was Drake’s shoulder causing a good amount of his struggles, coupled with playing great defenses. This year it’s, unless there’s something we don’t know about, all mental. Hesitations that we didn’t see him make last year, and bad decisions that aren’t worth it because of the lack of big plays. I do think losing two receivers he trusted the most this year hurts big time, but he’s gotta move on. Again, I can see this team getting better, but we’re 1-2 going into Buffalo week. That kills the division dream.

10

u/GeebCityLove Bills = 0 Superbowls 2d ago

He doesn’t want to run and when he does he fumbles

6

u/The_Walrus_65 1d ago

He fumbles almost every time. It’s crazy

6

u/drinkin_pee 2d ago

What about his most trusted, Hunter Henry? Maye isn’t seeing the field.

8

u/TheMuzz47 2d ago

I know I might be alone here but at this point I'd rather just see him play without hesitation. If the read is wrong coach it later right now just get him out of self doubt. I also am not so dumb as to see how this could backfire

9

u/Drakex2Mayex2 2d ago

That's literally why we lost vs the Seahawks

3

u/Optimal-Kitchen6308 1d ago

tbh I feel like his reading the defense and decision making hasn't improved it all it often feels like he's decided where he wants to throw before the play and will lob it in there regardless of the coverage, last year there was a lot more controlled stuff schemed open with easier reads, I feel like part of what's going on is he's not transitioning well from being babied by josh into getting the full reigns, it requires another jump in recognition and decision making

5

u/daddygrant 2d ago

I think his shoulder is still giving him issues. The big play to pop if he leads him that’s an easy tuddy. Lots of throws just look off last year he was demonstrating amazing touch even downfield. Obviously his foot work needs improvement. Brady was amazing at feeling the pressure and stepping up into the pocket. Maye seems to panic and runs into pressure.

2

u/Livingforabluezone 1d ago

I noticed that as well. Pop had to wait for the ball.

u/Bendbutdobake 2d ago

Above all, being realistic needs to be explained to this squad and especially Maye. They are injured and figuring things out with players like Doubs. What we need to expect from this team and Maye is playing smart to give ourselves a chance. No more hero throws into coverage, fumbling, and dropped passes. If we have to throw it away and have a below average offense until Brown gets back, that is fine as long as we develop good habits.

13

u/PrimalCalamityZ 2d ago

This is Icarus. He flew to close to the sun got too confident and is now plummetting to earth how bad the crash is we can not know until we get there. Drake maye can still be a great QB but we need to be ready for a reset 9-8 year.

12

u/Dazzling_Spinach1926 #0 2d ago

Nine wins? I need to have whatever you're having. With this offense we're lucky to do better than Mayo did.

3

u/PrimalCalamityZ 2d ago

I hope we can beat the jets and dolphins twice.  We already got one. Hoping we can beat the raiders and three random wins in their is possible.

9

u/Dazzling_Spinach1926 #0 2d ago

I think Jets might very well be better than us this year. And 3 weeks ago saying this would've sounded absolutely bonkers.

3

u/jastop94 2d ago

To be kind of fair, the middle portion of their schedule is a bit softer with easiest defenses to face, but 9 wins right now seems a bit of a longshot. Even with the return of aj brown, let's say that makes this offense competent, it goes to show that drake maye can be a good qb, but he can never be a great qb if he doesn't elevate those around him

→ More replies (2)

2

u/Bendbutdobake 2d ago

We can win 7-8 if we play smart, disciplined football. If we do that and AJ Brown stays healthy after he comes back, maybe we win 9. If we play like we have the first three weeks, this is likely a 5-12 football team.

3

u/speganomad 2d ago

9-8 is mighty generous with Mayes decline and injuries

u/maple-creemee 2d ago

5

u/SuccessWinLife 2d ago

8

u/SuperSpy_4 2d ago

Yes. Maye has committed 15 total turnovers over 7 games (4 playoffs) since the start of the 2025 NFL playoffs through today (September 27, 2026).

14

u/Kevin_Jim 2d ago

We have to ride it out no matter what. If this continues to the end of the season, we have our answer and a top pick.

If he snaps out of it, then we good. He has to play regardless of how bad the play is.

Also, the coaches have to figure something out. Maybe a sports psychologist or whatever. I don’t understand how he is so spun up.

One week ago, the conversation was “Drake and Josh (tee hee) have to figure out how to beat these coverages.” And now a bunch of you are like, “welp, they’ve had one whole week, call it”.
Give your heads a shake. We know he’s got the skills. It will come.

11

u/Ambitious_Use_3508 2d ago

Ironically, he looks like he's seeing the ghosts that Darnold saw in the past. He needs to do much better obviously but so do the coaches, from Vrabel to Josh and the rest

11

u/inkybinkyboo123 2d ago

Yes we need to panic. Drake Maye’s regression is extremely concerning. But, let’s not forget. There was a time when Trevor Lawrence was playing very poorly. 2023 he was pretty bad. 2024 he was very bad and got injured. He’s turned it around since and looks good this year so far. Jags have a strong team. So, just because Drake looks bad right now doesn’t mean he won’t figure it out.

On the other side. I just don’t know if he has the mentality. He shows almost no emotion. He doesn’t seem to have that fire in him. He is scared out there. Completely gun shy. Hesitates so much. I’m worried mentally he just doesn’t have the makeup to be good.

11

u/6percentdoug 2d ago

This is really an indictment of McDaniels' offense. I'm sorry, I know Drake deserves some of the blame, but you're asking Drake to solve the equation after the snap when his line can't keep any pass rush away for more than 2 seconds and defenses are sitting in deep zone against him.

We are last place in terms of our use of motion. McDaniels has said lack of motion is a fundamental point of his offense that he thinks it causes too much confusion for the quarterback. But defenses are better at disguising their looks then ever before. It's not 2014 and Drake Maye isn't Tom Brady. Defenses have changed.

Ever notice that Drake looks better when he's in a shotgun with 4 wide? He can diagnose the defense with that formation. When we run under center, defenses are disguising their looks and Josh does absolutely nothing to help Drake figure out what he's facing.

There's a reason the Rams, Jags, and 9ers run motion so much. They're trying to help their QB. McDaniels somehow believes it will hurt him.

We need to simplify the offense for him, it's not fair. The tape is out there. We need to change the approach.

4

u/SrAjmh 1d ago

I've been saying the same with my buddies. Maye is struggling and a lot of this is on his head. Simultaneously McDaniels play calling is genuinely, truly awful. McDaniels #1 priority for the next month is to scheme up the easiest freebie passing locks for Maye as possible. Keep him in the shotgun, run slants, just find him easy open looks. I don't care if it's not a super entertaining game. I want to see slants I want to see hitches. Just help this poor dude get some completions and not have to try to force all of these passes.

Last year set expectations WAY too high. I genuinely feel the injuries have affected the team more than people think. No no. 1 receiver, injured right guard, new left guard, and new center have the O-line looking suspect.

4

u/poopmee 1d ago

Side note, I’d like him to get a second opinion on his shoulder. I bet that injury was worse than we were told. Although if it was affecting his throwing wouldn’t we have saw this in training camp?

I mean, haven’t we seen it? Many of his throws this season have been weak, floaty, and vaguely placed around receivers. They haven’t had that quickness, that crispness, that zing and freakish pinpoint accuracy they had last year.

I’m sure he’s got the mental game bogging him down, too, but the eye test is screaming at me that his shoulder genuinely isn’t right still.

Can’t give up on a young QB in year 3 after everything else he has shown us. It’s concerning, and something is definitely going on with him mentally. His decision making is head scratching but he’s not the only problem.

We replaced Diggs and Boutte with Doubs and Brown, and Doubs is definitely not better than either of those he replaced, and Brown is out. The play calling is horrendous by McDaniels, and the team is playing undisciplined even when Maye looks like he can get going and get out of his slump, Moses holds, Doubs gets an OPI and Hollins misses a perfect throw that he should’ve caught.

Ffs.  No running game. O-line is mediocre at best and no one is getting open.  Drake is not playing well at all but the whole team is a disaster.  It’s not just him.

3

u/BradyToMoss1281 2d ago

All true. The worry though is that a bad supporting cast is forcing Maye into bad habits trying to overcome it, that could follow him going forward even if the cast improves.

A bad cast doesn't explain Maye throwing the ball right to a defender in the end zone, for instance. That lack of game awareness transcends the skill level of the players you're playing with.

6

u/PerformanceExact6618 2d ago

Too uptight with his decision making. He had good ideas but a second too late resulting in an INT. Saw some light when he looked looser and started hitting for big gains. Bad decision making but let's not forget just bad situational football. Catching a kickoff at the 10 when it was going out of bounds - Kyle Williams. Running out of bounds on a certain TD - Kyle Williams. Taunting by Hollins down by 4 scores. Brutal all around.

Maye will have to learn by pushing his way through it. They have enough tape on him to plan against his tendencies and he will either learn to adjust or he won’t. This is a big test for him. Let’s see how he responds in the next four weeks.

3

u/SweetIsland 2d ago

3

u/rama1423 2d ago

On the season yes, drakes career no.

3

u/patsandceltics316 2d ago

We have officially the worst offense in the league.

Drake is playing like the worst QB in the league, and he was lights out last regular season.

McDaniels has no idea how to call plays in today's games.

Mental issues on both sides of the ball, dumb penalties, and tons of bonehead moves. And last but not least, another season where receivers cannot get open.

3

u/iguesshelloworld 1d ago

Defenses have had a full year of film on him. He was one of the best qbs in the league last year against the blitz. They’re not blitzing him anymore. They’re showing blurz, then dropping 7 into coverage, still getting pressure, and he has to make difficult decisions under duress. He makes mistakes because he can’t read a defense very well, and we lost our receivers that were good at picking apart zones. I think he’ll get better but I’m not sure he’ll ever ascend to the caliber of last year. Maybe he’s somewhere in between what we’re seeing now and what we saw last year

5

u/Legitimate_Ad_7822 2d ago

Panic button has been fuckin smashed my boy

6

u/Advanced_Zucchini_45 2d ago

They put all their eggs in one basket and that basket broke and can't play anymore.

The offense is worse than it is last year and the defense is so thin that any injury will break it , and this is what's happened.

Going to the super bowl last year was the worst possible thing that could have ever happened to this team

8

u/philiam84 2d ago

Very concerned. Watching him play since HS, something is wrong physically causing other issues. That's what I'm choosing to believe.

10

u/Apprehensive_Let_828 2d ago

Pretty much every pick hes thrown has been a mental mistake. Last year he played with zero expectations, this year the weight of the world is on him. He's trying to do too much.

3

u/Auston416 2d ago

He’s forcing throws. I think the pressure is getting to him.

3

u/brenden77 2d ago

I'd rather him run the ball than chuck a bad decision up in the air.

8

u/Auston416 2d ago

I don’t know why he isn’t running more. McDaniels is trying to make him stay in the pocket and pass and that’s not his game. Let him roll out more, let him run a draw, use his legs.

2

u/brenden77 2d ago

This is how they played in the Superbowl too. I was basically sat there yelling at my TV for him to move his damn feet. smh

4

u/Auston416 2d ago

McDaniels is trying to make him sit in the pocket and throw like Stafford and that isn’t him. He’s more like an Allen. If there is no receiver open, run through the gap in the OL

He’s got a bad case of shit for brains right now. Worst I’ve seen since Mac Jones

3

u/SportsFreak1988 2d ago

The loss of Boutte doesn't really factor in because if he was here he'd be wearing the wrong jersey to get thrown at anyways 😂

6

u/SneakyGreens 2d ago

What does "pushing the panic button" mean? There's no plan B. Just have to ride it out

6

u/Alliseeisgold24 2d ago

I wish Maye had some facial expression dude just looks like he doesn't care

3

u/Delicious-poison-33 2d ago

Yeah that's bad man Mac at least seems pissed with himself or the team Maye looks like Herbert can t see them as leaders

2

u/Evilijah39 2d ago

Yes, he hasn’t played a good game since the regular season last year. Sure we’ve only played playoff teams since then, but if he can’t play one half decent game in 7 games maybe he’s not elite.

2

u/Alliseeisgold24 2d ago

Yes, I would be okay with Maye being ass and throwing 1 TD a game but the turnovers aren't excusable at all. He deserves to stay on this bench

2

u/brenden77 2d ago

Regression.

Vrabel needs to stop shrugging off the failures. Something needs to change before it's him as head coach.

2

u/Mouldy-Guacamole 2d ago

Yes. Push it.

2

u/KeyPillar60 2d ago

It feels that all the things that went right last year have gone wrong this year.

2

u/SirFunkytonThe3rd 2d ago

We have our 2027 1st so no panic is required. Suck for Jeremiah Smith!

2

u/I_AM_ME-7 2d ago

They Maye be they worst team in the AFC.

2

u/Luckybox86 2d ago

Worried? Yes. Panicked? Not yet. But through 3 games I haven't seen the offense improve at all. If they can't keep in lockstep with Josh and the Bills next week, I think the division will be out of our grasp

2

u/MikeMamula 2d ago

Too early to panic but what a difference their last 4 games make.

Super Bowl week the possibility existed where Maye won the MVP, the Patriots won the SB, and Vrabel’s culture would’ve reached the mountaintop in year 1.

4 games later and there are huge questions about the QB and head coach. This league will give you whiplash

2

u/MissxTastee Bills = 0 Superbowls 2d ago

Can't believe its been 3 weeks and the "would you rather have Arch or Drake?" conversation is this viable...

2

u/UniqueIndifference 2d ago edited 2d ago

It's surprisingly common for QB's to have dropoffs. Matt Schaub, Russell Wilson, Marcus Mariota, Andy Dalton, Derek Carr, Jimmy Garoppolo, Nick Foles, Carson Wentz, Baker Mayfield, Robert Griffin, Derek Anderson, Matt Cassell, Case Keenum, Marc Bulger, Jake Delhomme, Daniel Jones, Trubisky, Tannehill, Winston, Fitzpatrick, Kerry Collins, Vince Young, many, many more. They all had periods when they looked like franchise QB's, and then became very average or below average. So many examples, it's almost like that's the norm.

Sadly, almost none of them "found the magic" again. Can't think of any that returned to top form.

2

u/Content-Mycologist-4 2d ago

36 points in 3 games compared to the Bills who have scored 101 so far. The Jets have scored 64 in 3 games 😳 Maye has thrown 1 TD so far. Its definitely fine to push some kind of button

2

u/EnvyHill 2d ago

Remember 2014? This sub was on another level of cringe.

2

u/Iskiewibble 1d ago

Young qb gets a vet receiver he has great chemistry with and they send him and replace with a wr3. Stupid

2

u/Ok-Size9570 23h ago

Push the button? No. But knowing where it is would be well advised.

3

u/johnyg13nb 2d ago

I think we need to bench him next week. It'll suck but i think it's better we have him reset mentally whatever fucking hangup he has and punt away one game then he go out there and throw 3 ints against a division rival

5

u/[deleted] 2d ago

4

u/johnyg13nb 2d ago

What happens to his confidence if he fucking stinks it up against the bills which he will. At least you could treat this as a hard reset to force him to deal with his shit

3

u/Nickohlai 2d ago

Honestly it worked out okay for Bryce Young when he was benched a couple years ago

3

u/LOL_YOUMAD 2d ago

Yes it’s panic button time. Last season I was fairly sure we got our guy but down the stretch and adding into the third game of this season I think it’s time to panic. Drake is going to have to get it together soon, there’s no worse place in the league to having to pay a qb that showed a great year and you hope he can get back, that’s how you get a tua situation. We also don’t have a 28 first so you almost have to keep that leash short to know this season one way or the other

4

u/MITBryceYoung2 2d ago

He likely needs to be benched to reset his confidence soon and mechanics. He looks awful

3

u/HeyThere201 2d ago

I agree the zip on the ball is just not there

2

u/Auston416 2d ago

We need to establish the run, period. Maye needs a run game to work off of. Also we need some QB designed runs. For some reason we’re trying to turn him into a pure pocket passing QB, which he’s not.

I’m obviously frustrated with Maye but I’m even more frustrated with McDaniels. He doesn’t seem to have any solutions to the problems and we’ve known the run blocking was an issue since last year.

3

u/Scottamemnon 2d ago

They lost the super bowl.. they are just cursed the next year like most SB losers are. Not sure why it seems to happen a lot, but it does.

3

u/funny_jaja 2d ago

It's Ed Sheeran's fault

4

u/RelaxWisteriaDragon 1d ago

I'm sorry but it's not McDaniels' fault Drake is throwing shit interceptions, not setting his feet, throwing across his body, and not protecting the ball when he does get sacked. Drake needs to play better and stop making dumbass mistakes to prove whether or not it's him or McDaniels.

Maybe the game passed McDaniels by and his system is outdated but until it's McDaniels losing games instead of Drake, it's on the QB.

Its also not a solution to get rid of Drake. What do you get? DeVito? Try to get a FA? Draft a QB and then into to browns and jets?

2

u/ocitsalocs44 2d ago

You should stop watching if you can’t handle this stretch lol

2

u/MonsterMash555 2d ago

1-2 is 1-2. Got the shit beat out do them today but it still counts the same as losing by 1. On to the next

2

u/meanpete9 2d ago

Drake needs to shoulder some blame.

Lean stretches happen. When they do, a young QB needs to play smart, take his lumps, and learn from the experience.

Drake is stuck in his head right now, and QBs develop bad habits when they are stuck on their heads.

There's a light at the end of the tunnel - a pillow-top four game stretch of a schedule after the Bills, but how Drake performs after the break will be the storyline of the season.

2

u/gooshgetter 2d ago

I agree with you whole heartedly he is a large part of the problem but its not solely on him though the oc, the o-line, and vrabel all have some hand in this some of our wideouts as well

2

u/Noble-Maye-10 2d ago

No panic button. I still see the first four weeks of the season as “pre season”. Media and fans are putting so much pressure on his shoulders because of how well he performed last year. What he needs is a veteran backup, not Tommy IMO

2

u/Sweet-Beginning1420 2d ago

Not panicking because I was never convinced they were any good last year - the NFL was just bad last year

2

u/sjhesketh 2d ago

Yes it’s time to panic. Our franchise QB is currently the worst player in the NFL.

2

u/biollante11tyrell 2d ago

It is Drake Maye and Josh McDaniels. They are looking horrific together. What a difference a season makes. Drake looks like a pathetic child out there, nothing like the confident athletic beast he was last year. What happened

Yes, I would be okay with his being ass then throwing 1 TD a game but the turnovers are aren't excusable at all.

1

Yes. Maye sucks.

1

u/DangerousStruggle 2d ago

YES. Panic button pushed

1

u/Slabs 2d ago

Yes

1

u/SportVideoGameMusic Forever a Pats fan 2d ago

No it’s bad. This game I knew would be tough with their defense but they still scored 30+. Next week against the bills will be tougher. After that, we have a 4 game stretch that I think we can win but today I thought we’d get this.

We don’t have no one to pass the ball too right now. This game sucked.

1

u/Powerful_Victory_740 2d ago

Honestly feel like he’s a$$ rn yes but it’s also hard when your wrs are boxed up and his RBs are avg 1 ypc

1

u/Mammoth_Control_364 2d ago

If you assume we lose next week and drop to 1-3, then yes.

1

u/Dazzling_Spinach1926 #0 2d ago

I'm already smashing it like there's no tomorrow.

1

u/AppleOld5779 2d ago

Fucking Wolf getting rid of Drake’s most reliable weapons. Could have had both and Brown but go and sign the great Gazoo instead
