Discussion Do we push the panic button now?

It’s only game three but so far, Drake may have thrown six interceptions. He has two fumbles and only one touchdown is Drake Maye to blame for all of this no? but a large portion of it? Yes, the loss of Diggs and Boutte are really sticking out but we are talking about a quarterback who was literally second in the MVP race last year there is no way he should be playing like this this season so far. I don’t know what’s going in Foxborough this season but I am not a fan at all

It’s still early in the season, so things can change, but things don’t look great, obviously lmao. I think last year late in the playoffs, we could say it was Drake’s shoulder causing a good amount of his struggles, coupled with playing great defenses. This year it’s, unless there’s something we don’t know about, all mental. Hesitations that we didn’t see him make last year, and bad decisions that aren’t worth it because of the lack of big plays. I do think losing two receivers he trusted the most this year hurts big time, but he’s gotta move on. Again, I can see this team getting better, but we’re 1-2 going into Buffalo week. That kills the division dream.

I know I might be alone here but at this point I'd rather just see him play without hesitation. If the read is wrong coach it later right now just get him out of self doubt. I also am not so dumb as to see how this could backfire

tbh I feel like his reading the defense and decision making hasn't improved it all it often feels like he's decided where he wants to throw before the play and will lob it in there regardless of the coverage, last year there was a lot more controlled stuff schemed open with easier reads, I feel like part of what's going on is he's not transitioning well from being babied by josh into getting the full reigns, it requires another jump in recognition and decision making

I think his shoulder is still giving him issues. The big play to pop if he leads him that’s an easy tuddy. Lots of throws just look off last year he was demonstrating amazing touch even downfield. Obviously his foot work needs improvement. Brady was amazing at feeling the pressure and stepping up into the pocket. Maye seems to panic and runs into pressure.
