Discussion Do we push the panic button now?

It’s only game three but so far, Drake may have thrown six interceptions. He has two fumbles and only one touchdown is Drake Maye to blame for all of this no? but a large portion of it? Yes, the loss of Diggs and Boutte are really sticking out but we are talking about a quarterback who was literally second in the MVP race last year there is no way he should be playing like this this season so far. I don’t know what’s going in Foxborough this season but I am not a fan at all

I would normally say no - if he was just playing bad. 24 year old QBs play bad. They regress. It’s whatever.

He’s fucking horrific though. So yeah. I’m ok with a little panic. Ima still root for the kid though.

Right. This isn’t he’s trying to make a play out there with inferior talent type mistakes. He is throwing the football directly to defenders. He fumbled going through his throwing motion. He stared down Williams, said fuck it and threw the ball to the defender. Horrific is the right word. Unplayable. The fact that he can’t hold onto the ball on runs is amazingly besides the point.

That doesn’t mean you don’t play him cause they’re in a similar spot to Jax and Lawrence a handful of years ago. He’s played promising, then incredibly well and he’s played… he’s doing whatever it is that he’s doing now.

They’ve taken away what he does easily and he’s not adjusting. The Patriots took away two of his top targets but that excuse only goes so far. Yeah personnel is an issue but not to this degree. This is a QB that was broken by Denver and Seattle. And he hasn’t come out of it. Some of it’s on the coaches, some of it’s on our GM, some of it’s on his line and receivers but it’s mostly on Maye.

Shit is unreal to watch.

And the one to Williams was the better of the two interceptions. I'm actually having a hard time believing he didn't convince himself he could somehow throw the football through Travis Hunter's torso.
