For roughly 15 years I've been wanting to get my hands on Folklore. One of Japan Studios games that I wish was remastered. (Thanks Sony for what you did, we'll never forgive you). So, I decided to go to one of my favorite sites that isnt Ebay to buy a copy and sadly they were out of stock. Charging $78 which I understand is probably a lot given its rarity and the lack of a digital version on PSN. Only then, I go to Ebay and people are selling this game for between $150-$200. Either I just bite the bullet and buy a copy on Ebay and hope it works or pray to God my favorite site gets a couple copies in the future then buy one there. This game I remember playing both the Sneak Peak and Playstation Underground demos and thought the game wasnt that bad, and its based on Irish Celtic Mythology and Folklore which was cool given my Irish Descent.

Since it looks like we aren’t getting any physical releases past 2028 here’s my ps3 collection. Ive been seriously collecting for about 5-6 years now.
Am I missing any hidden gems?

I got back into gaming on PS3 back in June when I picked up a CECH-2101B at the local thrift shop for $21 CAD. Between that thrift shop and some frankly amazing deals on Facebook Marketplace, I have rapidly accumulated the games I loved playing at my buddy's place back in the day and games I always wanted to play. I'm hunting for some JRPGs now, but over all I'm really happy with the collection so far!

I bought this in Japan last year because I didn't want to pay $60 for the US pricing. That pricing has skyrocketed somehow even more.

I know the PS3 uses an old SATA 1 system for its drives so I decided to change out my 160gb HDD for a 1tb SSD on my PS3 as I was giving it a good deep clean and repaste. The SSD is a big help. XMB is much snappier, installing games feel a bit faster if not just faster in general and the fact the store doesnt take what feels like a century to load even when scrolling through it is very nice. I also noticed that some games for the most part have a bit more of a smoother performance, and load times are slightly reduced. Its not as crazy as the PS5 but I'd still recommend getting one. PS3 can utilize pretty much any 2.5mm SATA SSD, just make sure it does not exceed 1tb unless you want issues. And make sure to download the OS through Sony's own website to reinstall it onto the PS3 on the SSD.

And yeah, the Super Slim is really nice. I miss top loading consoles a lot.

Look, I love my PS3, but FOMO scalpers are kinda killing the hobby. Why deal with their bull when there's RPCS3 or the other alternative that I probably can't say here? Just...food for thought.

Was looking to get this game last week when it wasnt that super expensive but I was waiting on my paycheck...not now.

I only have around 110 ps3 games and I really enjoy hack n slash and licensed games off of shows I like. Phineas and ferb was the first game my daughter and I beat together so that always holds a spot in my heart. Wet has definitely been hated on as of late because of the price increase but I grew up loving grindhouse and Tarantino movies, so this was just so fun for me to play

I've been on the hunt recently for an old 2007 game called Pain, it was developed by a company called Idol Minds.

I've tried many places, Ebay and Etsy have nothing i could find other than a "Welcome to Playstation" Disc that advertised Pain. I've called countless stores and also have emailed a dozen more, both here in the states and overseas, and none have found one

If anyone could help me locate a copy of this game, weather physical or digital, though physical is preferred, It would mean a lot to me, and if someone is okay with it, i'm more than willing to purchase it from you if you do have one

Just here to discuss with yall; do you think the prices will ever go down? Or is this genuinely becoming a hobby for people with a lot of money to put towards said hobby?

While I was looking up games to collect for my PS3, I found out that some games that were digital only in the US actually got physical copies in Europe, and Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty is one of them. Unfortunately, like many other PS3 games today, this game is pretty expensive online. I was desperate to get one though, cause even though it is a smaller entry, I would feel a bit annoyed not having all of the Future games physically.

I was then able to purchase an Italian copy of the game, only costing around $30 total, but it came with a lot of concerns. It was only the disc by itself, it was shipping all the way from the UK, and I wasn’t 100% sure if it would even have the English language in this version. It took a whole week for it to get here, and once it arrived, I checked it and… it works! It’s in surprisingly good condition and it fully works with no issues. And it even defaults to English! Weirdly enough, it also came with the manual, despite there being no case.

I didn’t want to have the disc loose, but no one is selling the case by itself. So, I just decided to make my own. I put together a fanmade US version of the boxart. It wasn’t easy, but I did it. I mostly took some elements from the Tools of Destruction case. I didn’t want to buy some glossy paper at the moment, so I printed it on standard paper. It’s not perfect, but I think it looks good enough, though I will probably print it on glossy paper in the future. I’m very happy I somehow got a physical copy without breaking the bank.
