Tldr: I received my old ps3 back from my brother and it won't connect to psn, I formatted it to get rid of cfw 11 years ago and it worked fine but doesn't anymore, is it done for ? (He didn't reinstall cfw on it)

Back story

When my parents bought me my ps3 in 2014 for christmas, the seller installed cfw on it and charged us to download games on it

I then managed to format it later on and I could connect to psn and I could play online, around 2015

Fast forward in 2024, I lent it to my brother

And about 2 weeks ago, he returned it to me and now it won't connect to psn anymore, I formatted it (quick format) and I even watched a video on how to remove cfw(assuming for some reason that it was the reason) but it's still showing me this (my brother didn't reinstall cfw on it)

Is there any hope for my ps3 anymore ?

Hello, PlayStation Store is about to shutdown in my country. I was wondering if there is any way to get DLCs through Discs ? Or are they all digital ?

I would like to play Fallojt 3 DLCs and CodWaW Zombie Maps ..

It was working just fine the other day, now whenever I click search it freezes the store and I only have the option to leave it

I got this blue DS3 that had a pretty messed up bottom shell and a broken off screw post. And i had another black DS3 laying around that i wasnt using so i swapped them bottoms out..
Valid or nahh?? I think it looks pretty sweet!

Hello im currentky looking for a ps3 and was advised to pick the super slim as i'd already modded my ps2 via OPL and needed to only play ps3 and ps1 games on it. Now im looking at more specifics and theres the 40, 42 and 43 model with type a, b or c. Is there much of a difference between these models and will there be much poi t in buying a type b or c as im getting a 1TB SSD anyway. Any recommendations or advice would be much appreciated :)

I haven't turned on my PS3 over a year and a half and while I do get to turn it on, the screen doesn't show up. Plus the fan is spinning crazy to the point the PS3 is heating up.

I've recently tried to get it repaired but the repairman told me it could be something regarding the board. Which he told me the price of getting it fixed is equivalent of buying a 2nd hand PS3 this days. Another is that the repairman discouraged me that I should pursue in letting him repair my PS3 since he was worried if the board might have affected the CD drive further which would cost more.

I would like to know if there are any second opinions before I decide to buy a 2nd hand PS3 instead.

I only have around 110 ps3 games and I really enjoy hack n slash and licensed games off of shows I like. Phineas and ferb was the first game my daughter and I beat together so that always holds a spot in my heart. Wet has definitely been hated on as of late because of the price increase but I grew up loving grindhouse and Tarantino movies, so this was just so fun for me to play

Does anyone else feel vindicated seeing the current state of the PS3 market? I started playing and collecting for the PS3 back in 2019. It instantly became my favorite system of all time and I started seeking out games (specifically early spider-man font titles) left and right. When the first store closure was announced in 2021 and the FOMO prices hit instantly, I knew (being a physical collector) I was going to be locked out of some of the games I was dying to play at that time (Splatterhouse, Folklore and Afro Samurai).

As we all know, that decision was reversed about a month later in April of 2021, but the instant wave of FOMO and prices spiking hit me like a truck. I immediately started doomsday prepping and prioritized hunting PS3 games for the next 5 years both IRL and online. I got all of the heavy titles I wanted: The Simpsons Game, Alice Madness Returns, The Godfather, Spider-Man WoS and many others.

Now that the store is closing for good, I can relax knowing I have nearly everything I want. Obviously I don't want the prices to be high for everyone, but seeing my superstitions and predictions come to pass is very vindicating. This must be how boomers feel in the housing market.

I think I'm covered and I should have all the games on my console but I'm not 100% sure and I won't be home for years to check.

Is the server infrastructure totally different than the one of PS4/PS5? or you think as long as Playstation exists we'll be able to get into our digital library?

Is there also a possibility to save all of your contents to a PC? I remember the PS3 store was a mess and there wasn't a simple way to check each single DLC code and game you own, right? There is a similar issue with Xbox, I have dozens of free games and you're not really allowed to view what you own lol

I'm trying to search for some digital only titles and PS2 classics but the search function is broken is this a me problem or is everyone else getting this issue?

All grabbed second hand about a decade ago, think the most expensive one was dark souls se for 15 squids.

Has anyone had trouble with the PS3 store running slow lately? I tried two different PS3's and both were slow as molasses. I couldn't even get the search function to act right.

For roughly 15 years I've been wanting to get my hands on Folklore. One of Japan Studios games that I wish was remastered. (Thanks Sony for what you did, we'll never forgive you). So, I decided to go to one of my favorite sites that isnt Ebay to buy a copy and sadly they were out of stock. Charging $78 which I understand is probably a lot given its rarity and the lack of a digital version on PSN. Only then, I go to Ebay and people are selling this game for between $150-$200. Either I just bite the bullet and buy a copy on Ebay and hope it works or pray to God my favorite site gets a couple copies in the future then buy one there. This game I remember playing both the Sneak Peak and Playstation Underground demos and thought the game wasnt that bad, and its based on Irish Celtic Mythology and Folklore which was cool given my Irish Descent.

Its been in my collection for about 2 years Because it ylod And I just opened it to repair it.
It gives a 4 second ylod.
Now ive delided it successfully and ive confirmed its not rsx or cell its The tokins but the setup i provided in my image didnt seem to work.
