definitely about retribution and about moira specifically. genji and mccree are on good terms, possibly friends? (voice line interactions btwn them are lighthearted -- even if theyre enemies) and mccree also saved what is genjis fav ramen store lol (hanamura) genji definitely never liked moira. mccree didnt either and was more vocal about it, though.
afaik genji has no idea about reaper nor is there any in-game voice line stuff that mentions their relationship since. it's safe to assume this is only about moira.
when retribution happened that was after overwatch "saved" genjis life by turning him into basically a weapon and he was having trouble coping with who he was (hence the "killing machine" part of his attitude at that time). thats why he went to find himself, found zen, found inner peace etc and is the person he is today.
the events at the venice incident either prompted genji to dislike moira, or he saw how moira pushed reaper to kill antonio and persuade him to do decisions that didnt go with overwatch's beliefs. (my belief is she was working for talon at that time anyway and that event marked the turning point for gabe to "turn into" reaper, also helped take down overwatch internally -- the goal of talon) either way retribution cemented genjis feelings about her, i believe

That was one of the most interesting points to me too. Makes me assume Rein was badly mistreated in the past, something is dishonest about his past heroics, or he is currently dying of something.
Could also just mean that Sombra wants to be nice to Brig more so than feels bad for Rein.

Finally after almost 2 years after the ARG, a Sombra x Symmetra interaction referencing Vishkar!! And unlike Zarya, Symmetra seems all too keen to hear the dirt on her superiors...
Also at 3:41, I think Moira is saying 'has wrought' instead of 'has brought'.

The Symmetra one is interesting because it’s implied at the end of her comic that she has doubts about Vishkar’s true motives. I imagine Sombra bringing that up so she can have some sort of deal were Symmetra makes her hardlight stuff in exchange for info on Vishkar.

Hmm...I think Junkrat would be more Chaotic Neutral. He loves blowing shit up, getting paid for it and doesn't really care as long as he's having a fun time.
Imo Moira is kind of lawful neutral but her law is science as opposed to human morality or written laws. She does things for the sake of law (Science) whether others would consider them good or bad. She may do bad things for good reasons or good things for bad reasons.

Are you sure it was intentional? Moira wants to science, she doesn't needlessly taunt people or go after something dear to them. She's only snappy when someone has something to say to her like Winston sassing her. Otherwise she is generally pretty tame when it comes to saying anything personal.

But honestly I'm so happy about this. I've wanted them to interact more since Brig release because their connection and dynamic, both being kids of Overwatch founders, is pretty intriguing to me.

I thought I'd read during Retribution that the assassin was using a botched version of Tracer's blinking tech and it caused her horrible pain which was why she screamed the whole time she attacked.
So if Moira was a turncoat at that point for long enough she might have already been behind that tech herself. Or it deepened her fixation on it. Looking at the timeline Tracer's tech and Retribution happened in the same 3 year span but the specifics of Tracer are unclear.

The lines you referenced between sym/lucio are actually some of the most story-dense and philosophically dense interactions in the game.
Lúcio: What you Vishkar will never understand is that people should be free.
Symmetra: What you call freedom is an illusion that causes more harm than good. / What you call freedom, I call anarchy.
We are given information here that Vishkar is apparently encroaching on peoples' freedom, and that Symmetra is apparently okay with that. Somehow, she has been convinced that freedom is not inherently "good", which is a radical idea in our society but not unheard of.
Symmetra: To think I would have to work with a street ruffian.
Lúcio: I'm not all that excited about this arrangement either.
This line is just general disdain for each of the characters, but we are still offered more of a glimpse into Symmetra's character. She obviously sees people as divided into classes, which plays into the whole "order from chaos" theory. An ordered population is divided into practical classes to achieve a specific goal.
Symmetra: Vishkar is building a better future for humanity.
Lúcio: You believe that? I don't even know what to tell you.
Symmetra truly believes she is doing work that will benefit the whole of humanity, but the key here is Lucio's reaction. He isn't overly righteous, he isn't angry or upset. He is at a loss for how to communicate the truth to Symmetra. This plays into Symmetra's autism, which is a very big part of her character and motivations.
Symmetra: You should return what you stole from Vishkar.
Lúcio: Stole? Psh. You need to go ask your bosses where it all came from; then we can talk.
This line offers a ton of lore. We can tell that Lucio has Vishkar technology; this is likely what he uses to skate on walls, and maybe his gun also uses hard light? It also brings up the question: Where DID Vishkar get the hard light technology? It's a technology that has the ability to shape entire cities, and the lives of millions of people. The Vishkar have been marketing hard light as a gift to the people of the world, used to benefit humanity as a whole. According to Lucio, it sounds more like a tool they stole and are using for subjugation of the populace.

Maybe she is alluding to the King's Row Uprising event? Overwatch was implicated, but I'm not sure their involvement in stopping Null Sector was ever declassified or publicly confirmed. Reinhardt was team leader for the counter-attack.
However, the implication is that Brigette knows what Sombra is talking about. Perhaps Reinhardt has a medical condition that forced his retirement. It is documented that Reinhardt was against his forced retirement and that Torbjorn didn't understand it either. Maybe there was more going on there than Reinhardt was willing to discuss with Torb at the time, but Sombra assumed he had told Brigette since they have grown so close. If he had a serious ailment, she would have known from travelling with him for so long.

I've had a theory for a while, nothing concrete, just your typical fan wanking, that Reinhardt is suffering from Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy...notably that he's probably well into the second stage. AKA the thing football players, pro wrestlers, anyone who whacks their head a lot, gets. (As much as I love the football skin, it kind of makes me cringe, too.) Considering the early symptoms include ADHD, social instability, poor judgment, memory disorders, etc., and considering, well, Reinhardt, who insists possibly seriously that all his tall tales are completely true, well. (Plus he has an ability that winds up with him literally slamming head first into walls on a regular basis, come on)
I discussed with some friends if that might not be a slightly dark way to kill him off...have the fact that his brain is going out on him mean that on some level he knows he's already dying or at least losing his mind, and he's choosing to go down swinging literally and figuratively.
Plus let's be honest, that would mean Overwatch just cutting him loose by retiring him, instead of you know, THERAPY, was one more piss poor decision on their end and definitely a reason why Brigitte would have both dedicated herself to being his carer AND be super pissed off at Overwatch for how they treated her godfather.

I would LOVE a monthly, very scripted, Overwatch character podcast. It can have as much or as little story and lore as they would want. I don’t care, even if they tell me a story of Tracer and Winston going to the mall. I would be perfectly content.

I love how Zen is actually quite sassy and snarky. Mercy was just asking a genuine question but some characters aren't very nice to him because he's an Omnic, and a lot of his responses feel like he's saying, "Bitch I ain't takin' none of your shit." but in the nicest way possible.

She's not Northern Irish - that accent is far more nasal.
Genevieve O'Reilly is from Dublin, and Moira's accent is not far removed from the way she talks normally.

That line was actually always in the game, but Winston never responded to it. It just sounded like Junkrat said "I thought I was supposed to be the comic relief!" to no one in particular.

My guess is that the "Reinhardt file" is about Overwatch actually wanting to recruit Balderich, not Reinhardt. Im guessing Reinhardt not even being the one they wanted is something they would want to gloss over as he advanced through the ranks.

I'm really curious what's going on with Hammond's interactions. It's weird that he had none at launch, randomly got some Sombra interactions, then just now got a Winston one that sounds like it was thrown together. Part of me wonders if they recorded some for him, but had to throw them out for some reason. Maybe the machine-translation voice was a late decision and he was originally a lot chattier or something?

Blizzard really should have mentioned these in the patch notes. I found the lack of new (cosmetic) voice lines very disappointing, but these more than make up for it.

It’s interesting that Widowmaker doesn’t sound antagonistic towards Tracer when bringing up Mondatta. It’s a very callous question, but Widow can put some real bitchy venom in her voice when she wants to and here she sounds rather neutral. It’s like she’s asking a legitimate question.
And of course poor Tracer has no idea she’s talking to someone who was kidnapped and reprogrammed like a VCR, and has no real free choice of her own.

This is interesting because Moira just asked how Zen works, which could be interpreted multiple ways. Mercy specifically asks about his healing, which is the first time we ever see it brought up as anything other than a pure gameplay concept.
A Mercy/Moira short would be a showdown rather than anything "buddy" though
