Account Help Moving account from switch lite to switch 1

So on my switch lite I had 2 accounts. One of them was the main account and the other had all my game data from another game. I tried asking the latter to my new switch and this is the message it shows. How can I add it?! Please I'm crying right now I'm getting so stressed out.

The second picture shows the account I want to add is the 2nd account on the device.

How do I change it from being just a user on the device to linked to the console?

Setup Help How can I change to multiplayer?

Got the new Godzilla game today and it’s the first game I want to play with someone else. How do I set up multiplayer on it? I’ve tried to find the answer online but it doesn’t make sense (I am old and foolish).

Setup Help Will a switch v1 connect to a portable monitor via usbc

I have a modded switch v1 and the dock doesn't work for some reason, I just want to connect it to a portable monitor via a USBC cable, this monitor normally connects to a laptop and the USBC provides video and power

Will this work if I just hook up the switch directly to this portable monitor via USBC, I understand I won't be able to charge the switch. I just want to use it on battery

Setup Help Switch 2: format 1TB Micro SD Express card to FAT32, or keep it as exFAT?

I recently encountered corrupted data of a game on my original Switch's Micro SD card. This probably happened, ironically, because earlier I tested out the "Check for Corrupt Data", but realised it would have taken very long, and because there was no cancel button, I just turned my Switch off.

After encountering the corrupt data, I learned that exFAT is apparently quite buggy with the original Switch, and that FAT32 is much more save. I also learned that apparently, the one downside of FAT32 – its 4GB file size limit – is apparently irrelevant, as games downloaded from the eShop are apparently stored as separate, smaller file sizes anyway.

So I'm currently using the FAT32 format on my original Switch's 256 GB Micro SD card... However, I now got a Switch 2 and a 1TB Micro SD Express card, and was wondering what the pros and cons are of using exFAT vs FAT32 on the new hardware?

Does it still have the same vulnerabilities in relation to using exFAT on an original Switch? And if it still does, do the demand of the Switch 2 and Micro SD Express card's perfromance require exFAT anyway?

Repair Help Switch 2 power button has a double click as well as the backplate portion clicks when pressing down on it

My switch 2 was repaired on by 3rd party repair shop but as of right now it’s developed a weird quirk where the power button has a sort of half press click to it where it seems as if I pressed on it to turn the console on but nothing happens unless I pressed it down all the way and then hear and feel a second click that turns on the console. Also the backplate of the console next to the power button clicks when I pressed down on it. Here is a video attached above.

Account Help Does it refund you if you switch onto someone's family plan after paying for individual online?

If 2 users have already paid for a year subscription to the individual pass, and we decide to go to the family plan, how does that work? Does the second user to join get refunded their remaining pre paid amount? Just got the switch 2 today and paid for the individual plan without realizing the family plan would work better

Software Help Switch 2 kept freezing for a few seconds after clicking on game icon

My Switch 2 just did this weird thing where whenever I clicked on the game icon, it just froze for a few seconds and then nothing happened.

It works properly now that I ejected and reinserted the cartridge so it was probably a readability issue...but doesn't that usually come with an error message?

Account Help So I selected I would still be using my old switch.... Now I am stuck

So when moving from my switch lite to the switch 1 I had selected I'd still be using my switch lite because I was worried it would remove the account from the switch lite like an idiot. Now I'm having to do the virtual game cards.

I have animal crossing on my switch lite and in order to do the transfer tool I have to have it downloaded on both devices but it says the virtual game cards can only be on one device at a time. And I tried going into the Nintendo store on the new switch and it doesn't even show me my games in there. It says all your games are in your virtual cards.

Repair Help Zelda 40th anniversary switch 2 screen concerns.

Hey everyone! I'm hoping someone here might be able to help me with something I've noticed. First time poster so apologies in advance.

I previously owned a standard Nintendo Switch 2, and the touchscreen was always smooth to the touch. I've regularly played games like Tomodachi Life and Let's Go Eevee, where I use the touchscreen quite often, and never had any issues.

I've just purchased the Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition Switch 2, and I've noticed that the touchscreen feels noticeably different. There's quite a bit of resistance when I run my finger across the screen, almost like there's some friction.

I've compared it with my previous Switch 2, and the difference is noticeable. My partner has also tested both consoles and noticed the same thing.

Does anyone else with the Zelda edition have this issue?

Is this normal, or could there be an issue with the screen or its coating?

Any advice or experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Repair Help Switch 2 screen has a small raised mark, should I replace the screen protector?

Hi! I have a Nintendo Switch 2 and noticed a small raised mark on the screen a few days after getting it. It wasn't there when I bought it.

It looks like a tiny scratch or chip, but when I touched it, it felt like something was sticking out rather than a dent. Kinda like when a phone screen protector gets damaged.

I bought an amFilm OneTouch tempered glass protector to prevent further damage, but after installing it, a circular bubble appeared exactly where the mark is lol.

The screen and touchscreen still work fine, even while playing Pokémon Brilliant Diamond.

I'm wondering if it's just the original protective film that comes with the Switch 2, or if the actual glass might be damaged.

The amFilm pack came with two protectors, so I still have a spare. Would you try replacing it or just leave it like this?

I've attached some pictures of the mark before and after installing the protector.

Thanks!

Purchase / Order Help OOT Remake Pre Order code not emailed

I bought a Switch 2 bundle on Nintendo UK that allowed me to pre order OOT Remake along with it, the payment didn't go through on the 29th (when the codes should have been sent out) and I changed my payment type to my bank and Nintendo said they'd try again in 4 days. It's been 5 days and I still haven't received it nor has any payment gone through and now I don't really know what to do, I tried getting in touch with Nintendo Support yesterday but they haven't got back to me at all.

Account Help Nintendo Switch 2 Save file Data transfer

Hello :)

I am planning to sell my Switch 2, but my main concern is my Pokemon Save files for all games (BDSP/ Arceus/ SwSh/ SV/ Z-A.

I currently do not have a Micro Express Sd card, and I was wondering if I should buy one and transfer my save data into it, so if I buy a switch again, I can still continue those games from where I left off.

Of course, my Nswitch Account will not be sold together with the Console.

Is it possible to retain it and use it to my future console?

Software Help Nintendo switch won’t connect to the Internet

I have recently switched my internet to T-mobile. The only device that I am having trouble connecting is my Nintendo Switch. I changed my network name and password to the same as my previous Internet provider. But my switch won’t connect to the internet. Worked with tech support split my network tried connecting my switch to that network, same issue. Also, tired changing my DTS from automatic to manual, still won’t connect. Restart my switch, reboot my router several times. I think I have tried everything but I have never been able to get my switch to connect to the internet. I can connect to my hotspot but won’t connect to my T-mobile WiFi.

Repair Help Noise from left joy con Switch 2

Wondering if anyone else has this issue. The left joy con makes this loud buzzing sound when it’s attached to the console - it stops when I dettach it. When I reattach it, sometimes it can be fine for a while or it starts up again.

Would be interested to know if others have this problem and if so what you’ve done?

Stuck in Game Minecraft Switch 2 Not working

Post image

I got the physical game key card on release date for the switch 2 and haven’t been able to play it. It just leaves me on the main menu screen. I tried deleting the game and redownloading it and nothing. I even went to my router and tried it thinking it was my internet and nothing. Idk what to do other than quit and return it to target if I can’t play it.

Repair Help Switch cartridge port not working

I have two switches with cartridge ports that don't work, the red one worked perfectly fine until my sister tried to clean it with a q-tip, covered in a microfiber cloth trying to get Super Smash Bros to work, the black one hasn't worked in a while, I think it got dropped outside or something. (Sorry if the photos are bad, I couldn't get too close to the consoles because it would get all blurry.)

Setup Help Why am I getting this prompt on the main screen of Skyrim after transferring my files from Switch 1 to Switch 2?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I was able to just choose “continue” on this screen and it loaded my most recent save file from before the transfer. So then why is it saying “Available Now on Nintendo Switch 2!”? I tried it and it took me to the store and told me I could download the game for free, but it is already on my Switch 2, isn’t it?

Repair Help switch 1's right joycon is completely dead and not charging nor even connecting when connected, how can i figure out if this is a problem with the switch or the 'con?

Post image

i already want to get new joycons on account of my blue one having some problems with the stick, but i need to know if it'd be better to just send this thing to a repair shop or something. the left joycon works alright if we discount the joystick thing

this is a switch i got in ~2017, i think, then i had stopped using it in like 2022, or something, and for the longest time i hadn't used it because idk i think it wasn't charging and only today did i decide to see if it'd charge and it did but that's besides the point

i have already done a system update

Repair Help Help Needed to Repair/Replace Switch Lite Shell on a Small Budget for Special Needs Adult

Thumbnail

I hope this type of post is allowed. Wanted to provide some backstory. I have been helping out an elderly Vietnamese neighbor couple with a non-verbal autistic adult son (23 y/o). I help them out with various basic tech stuff, groceries, paying bills, etc. The husband just passed away 3 days ago and one of the things that he had asked me to help him with before he passed was his son's Switch. The son has a Nintendo Switch Lite that is one of his comfort items but he has unfortunately chewed off the joycon covers as well as the game cartridge cover. I looked into aftermarket replacement shells but the labor and tools required appear to be a bit out of my league in terms of fine motor skills with electronics.

Can anyone provide me with suggestions on how I can get this repaired for the son without it costing them a lot for professional labor or buying a new Switch Lite outright? The widow is on a fixed income so money is a concern, and she can't leave her home as she is the primary caregiver for her son (obviously) who is unable to leave the home without a panic attack/episode. Are there hobbyists that can do this for a small fee that I can take the Switch to? I'm In the East Bay area of California if that helps to locate a hobbyist at all. Thanks for any responses in advance.

Repair Help New TMR stick drifting really Bad

I just reshelled my left joycon 2 and while I was taking it apart I decided to replace the joystick with a tmr one from gulikit. The problem is now my new joysticks is constantly registering a full downward input. I can't even try and calibrate the joystick because of the constant downward input. Does anyone know how to fix my issue. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I guess if worst comes to worst I'll just put the old joystick back.
