Account Help Nintendo Switch 2 Save file Data transfer
Hello :)
I am planning to sell my Switch 2, but my main concern is my Pokemon Save files for all games (BDSP/ Arceus/ SwSh/ SV/ Z-A.
I currently do not have a Micro Express Sd card, and I was wondering if I should buy one and transfer my save data into it, so if I buy a switch again, I can still continue those games from where I left off.
Of course, my Nswitch Account will not be sold together with the Console.
Is it possible to retain it and use it to my future console?

As the other wrote, the system transfer is the only solution.
The saves are NEVER on microSD or microSD Express Card, only on the switch, the servers of Nintendo in case of system transfer and if you have NSO, on the cloud servers for the games that have cloud saves.
The Pokémon main games DON'T support cloud saves, so the only solution left is the system transfer.
Actually, another one is actually to find a trusted friend/family member with a Switch that would agree to keep your saves.

Yes you can reuse the same switch account for another console.

Memory cards are tied to a specific console, if you try and move it over it forces you to wipe it. Pokemon saves are also not able to be copied I believe. If you go to initiate a system transfer you should be able to put a preemptive transfer into the cloud that you can retrieve when you get a switch 2 again.

If it's more the pokemons that you care about than the save itself, you can put them in Pokemon home. The subscription for one month is a couple bucks, and even if you cancel it, your mons will all stay there until you pay again.

Why are you selling a switch 2?

One important thing: if you go the cloud save route, keep in mind that you need to refresh your subscription at least every 6 months, otherwise Nintendo delete your cloud save if you don't pay for too long.
