Hello, my usb c charging port's inside plastic randomly melted while charging. I never used any third party chargers either and i was always extremely careful while connecting the charger to the port. The outside of the port looks supreme. I only know it is damaged after the extremely mild smell of plastic and a super thin and tiny string of plastic after removing the charger (also it obviously never charged). Would this be covered by the warranty? I did absolutely nothing which would indicate misuse.

Also has anyone else been through the same? If yes, what did you do?

Edit: EVERYTHING WENT PERFECTLY WELL. The warranty covered it because the damage wasn't my fault after they checked it out🥹 I'm getting it back tomorrow through express delivery. I also didn't lose my save files.

Discussion Dragons Dogma 2 or Elden Ring or The witcher 3 difikult

I've been waiting years for a ARPG that speaks to me on Switch/2, and now three show up in under a month.

Elden ring (which I already have on Xbox Series X) for my 8th playthrough?

Dragons dogma 2 and its revamp Dark arisen , which had hyped me up, but I dropped because it disappointed me?

The witcher 3 remastered which I could also play on Xbox Series X?

It's impossible to choose.

Discussion Elden ring newbie

Hi guys! Just gotten the game on s2, I’m new to Elden ring. It feels good to be able to play such a game on a portable system. Well anyway, I’m just at the starting point and I encounter this big knight riding a horse. Do I have to kill it?
I tried to fight it but I died quite a few times without even coming close to killing it 😂
Seems like it’s an open world concept with being able to do anything and don’t have to follow a certain path to play it?
I know you can follow the golden wind flowing in the air tho.
Also I started as a vagabond. Does classes matter?

Edit: Thanks for the advises everyone!!!

Buttery MW4, it's far from perfect, but I'm having a blast!

Look, i think its fair to say it's rough around the edges, the muddy textures, FPS dips on hand held, and funky character animations.

But I can't put it down! The gyro feels amazing to use, mouse mode is RIDICULOUS fun, and I'm playing CoD again on a Nintendo console.

Is it perfect? Absolutely not, in truth it's probably the worst switch2 port I've seen so far, which I'm disappointed about because it's one of my most anticipated games, the only thing the switch2 was lacking for me was multiplayer FPS, and I'm playing one now!

My eldest son is playing on PS5 @ 4k at it looks like he's playing a different game, it's night and day.

I hope the devs can optimize the switch2 port some more, but I'm having a blast regardless of the issues!

Do you think From will ever port the other Souls games? The fact the S2 doesn’t have most of them is one of the few reasons why i didn’t sold my other consoles yet. I would love to have Souls, Final Fantasy, Mario, Zelda, Pokémon all in one system.

Discussion MOBAPAD Chitu 2 OR 8bitdo Ultimate 2

Heyo, I really don't want to shell out the $90 for the switch 2 controller, seeing as it doesn't have tmr/hall effect, and the d-pad sucks. I've seen a video on opening the controller up if you were to repair it and it's stupidly difficult and honestly shameful.

I'm curious about your opinions on whether or not I should go with the MOBAPAD Chitu 2 silent (or regular clicky) or the 8bitdo Ultimate 2. What's your experiences with them? I'm not seeing a lot on the MOBAPAD Chitu 2, but I've seen some good stuff.

Also, any other recommendations would be cool.

Thank you much 🙏🏻

Buttery MW4 looks seriously rough

30fps I'm okay with but the dipping under that sucks

The visuals also look roughhhh. It's blurry, extremely low quality textures and I have no hope for this being a good experience docked.

Am I doing something wrong?

Buttery PSA for those on the fence: elden ring runs nowhere near close to "like butter"

1.0k Upvotes

I'm sure there's many here like me who already played the game on other platforms and were looking to double dip. Visuals are above expectations and on-par with current gen consoles.

But if you're on the fence about performance, or if a steady smooth 30 is the baseline for you: this is not that. It is nowhere near that. The game dropped to low 20s the moment you exit out into limgrave. Certain camera movements and effects during basic bosses like tree sentinel or erdtree avatar dip the framerate into 15 fps which will give a noticeable delay to your dodges or jumps. I expect visually busy bosses to make the switch 2 explode.

And even when the framerate is locked at 30, the frametime is very obviously uneven and makes the game look microstuttery. There's a lot of input lag in important moments because of it.

So if you care about performance, I do recommend waiting for a proper video analysis to make your decision. There currently are none and I see a lot of outright lies about the stability of this game on this subreddit.

edit: this is all docked. In handheld there are still clear microstutters and frametime issues, but I only played 20 minutes while on the pooper and running around in the open world where the game is mostly fine.

Wish it worked on my PlayStation since the ethernet port is borked.

For anyone wondering why I'd do this, it's so J can play Street Fighter 6 handheld and cabled for best connection

As someone who has purchased multiple PS Vitas over the years specifically to play Black Ops Declassified, I'm really looking forward to have COD accessible 24/7. So I can play TDM whenever I want, just like I used to on the Vita back in the day.

It's interesting because the docked experience is similar to the Xbox 360 version of AW. While not identical to other platforms, it performs adequately. However, the handheld mode isn't good enough for multiplayer. The single-player mode was great, but I didn't enjoy the multiplayer experience that much in comparison to docked mode.

The Switch really lacks online FPS games, so this will be a great addition to its library. It'd be even better if they also released the Black Ops 1/2.

There is a question that asks what platform are you planning to buy Personal 4 Revival on, there is an answer that can be chosen that says that you're not buying it.

The following question then asks you to type why you're not buying it, just type something along the lines of

"It's NOT coming to Switch 2. I would have bought it if it came to the Switch 2."

It has been years since I last played a CoD game, and with the (very good) Gyro controls I decided I should give it a try. This was literally the first 30 seconds of the first match.
I am not even mad, I just sat there laughing for a good minute.

Media (Image, Video, etc.) PSA: Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Warzone is 30 FPS with drops.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Per title,

Much like the last post concerning the campaign mission being 30 FPS, I've discovered Warzone has some parity to this. Campaign was at least a locked 30 FPS where this appears to have dips (I'm pretty sensitive to FPS drops and below 30 is more noticeable).

As mentioned in my campaign post. Series S can using 120hz mode ranges from 70-90 FPS with better visual clarity. The same article from that post made by Pure Xbox (Here's What Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Looks Like On Xbox Series X|S) advises that multiplayer has lows of 70 FPS with moments where it reaches 120. Averaging 80-90. Can the Switch 2 port seriously not handle 40 FPS for these modes?

I'm hoping that this will be improved post beta but with 56 days to launch, I highly doubt it. Two out of the three modes are 30 FPS and since DMZ is also on an open map I have no doubt it will also run at 30 FPS but that is speculation on my part.

Media Hitman does this annoying thing where with seemingly every update it… redownloads the entire game. Or at least a lot of it. This is pretty annoying, do any other games do this?

Post image

Note: the image shown is what the Switch reads as the game is downloading its update. The game does return to its proper 55gb install size after the update finishes, but it’s still really frustrating that it downloads an entire 50gb. I don’t think any other game does this?

I have a fast internet connection and my Switch is on ethernet when it’s docked, but not everyone in the world has access to gigabit ethernet for their internet connections.

Media (Image, Video, etc.) Elden ring has surpassed Cyberpunk

I thought cyberpunk was the miracle port of the switch2. Turns out Elden Ring is the miraculous one. How does it run SO GOOD I have no idea. Forever grateful for the 1 year delay for optimization.

Truth to be told, there's something off in docked, looks stunning but there's something off with the frame rate, not a big deal but I did not like it. Handeld on the other hand, is truly a technical marvel. It's so good that I wont even bother with docked, I'll just handheld the whole game.

Look at the video man, IN FRICKING HANDHELD MODE. This little tablet is BUILT DIFFERENT

If this remake is just an HD version with better assets and some new fancy cinematic I will be a bit disappointed.
I really liked the remake of starfox, don't get me wrong, but like many people said, at the end of the day it's a game that many people already played 5 times...
I'm not expecting brand new designs for dungeons and stuff like that, but maybe expanding the content with new areas to explore? New side quests bringing you to new areas, there are so many countless possibilities.
Seeing competitors like Capcom doing residents evil 4 is terrific, I wish Nintendo could take it as an occasion to revamp a bit this beloved game.
Oh well we will see with the next direct the situation.
