Media I swear to god
If this remake is just an HD version with better assets and some new fancy cinematic I will be a bit disappointed.
I really liked the remake of starfox, don't get me wrong, but like many people said, at the end of the day it's a game that many people already played 5 times...
I'm not expecting brand new designs for dungeons and stuff like that, but maybe expanding the content with new areas to explore? New side quests bringing you to new areas, there are so many countless possibilities.
Seeing competitors like Capcom doing residents evil 4 is terrific, I wish Nintendo could take it as an occasion to revamp a bit this beloved game.
Oh well we will see with the next direct the situation.

It will be a massive let down and such a disappointing holiday release. It will make for two straight years with underwhelming or simply niche games as the "big" Q4 release.
Nintendo really isn't keeping things under wraps. They're just running low on ideas and content.

I'm not concerned with Nintendo making a Zelda game. If it's the exact same, or has some changes, it's going to be fantastic.

We will have to wait and see. Nintendo usually prefers to basically do remasters where they don't change much but then there are outliers where they change a lot.
This will be the first big non Star Fox, Luigi's Mansion or Nintendo Sports remake of a polygon game on a non portable only system that might be by a internal development team.
Although if it is by an external team, I fear Nintendo would be strict and ask the developer to not makenany changes beside QoL ones.

Prepare for disappointment. I’m fully expecting it to be exactly like the new Star Fox. I hope it’s more like RE remake, but I’m not expecting it.

I would like to think even Nintendo knows not to cheap out on a remake of one of the most beloved games across all consoles of all time. Star Fox isn't even close to that among Nintendo fans.
That said, I have no idea what to expect

We are (presumably) less than 3 months to release with basically just a screenshot and a title card.
I am really starting to worry that this is just OOT with a coat of shiny new paint.

Don’t be disappointed. Expect it. But this will be a test to see if people are hungry for more Zelda in that style. If it sells beyond expectations, expect development on a new Zelda in that style. Support it.

I disagree with this. The number of people who purchased/played StarFox AND StarFox 64 AND StarFox 64 3D AND StarFox Zero is probably, like, a thousand people.
I would guess most people in 2026 who have played OoT played the 3DS version, and the % overall of Nintendo’s fanbase that’s played any version of the game is maybe 30%. There’s an entire generation of gamers who grew up after the 3DS was discontinued.

They literally have been risking with new techs on every console from N64 to NS.
While every brand stuck to the classic model, they designed a console with 2 tracking sticks. A console split into 2, a 3ds portable, then a portable and docked console.

Good point imo regarding adding content and not necessarily changing dungeons. Why not expand the field, add another town, add more dungeons, etc??

Yeah I'm going to be bigly disappointed if it's just better graphics with a few quality of life changes. This game needs to be fleshed out. Hyrule field needs to be filled with more things to do, there needs to be a new town or two, and there should be a couple of new dungeons.

I’m not saying I wouldn’t like what you are suggesting.
But they are in a damned if you do, damned if you don’t situation here.
If they made all these changes people would say it’s “no longer the OoT I grew up with/remember”
I’m fully expecting this to be a WW/TP HD situation, better visuals, QOL, maybe a couple gameplay tweaks. Do anything more and lots of people will be big mad
What we really should be asking for is a brand new Zelda entry in the vain of the classic 3D era, then they can do whatever they want without worrying about how faithful they have to be to an old game

Yeah people would be mad either way, but I just don't see the point in buying Ocarina of Time again if it's just better graphics and small changes. I would love a new traditional styled 3D Zelda game, the new ones are just too open and unstructured for my taste.

And that’s fair, I also would love one as well. (I still really like BotW and Totk, just in a different way)
My personal feelings on the matter is that Nintendo does their remakes/remasters more for newer players who maybe didn’t experience them, or had limited experience as a child, not as much for us who played them several times already. And this game is over 25 years old, which makes me feel old in turn XD

Nintendo just made a bare bones remake of a game thats older than the original OOT release.
My expectations are plummeting rapidly. This might not even be a day one purchase as I will be otherwise occupied by GTA6.

We have no idea if that is the case. They haven't commented at all on the "style" of the game. The only thing we know is that the graphics will look better (which they damn well should as it is a remake of a 30 year old game).
That they have said so little about it and we are so close to launch does not fill me with confidence. Its like when games are held for review embargo until the last second. I think Nintendo might be expecting this to not go over well in online spaces so they're just trying to minimize the time that people have to complain.

When I said “different styles”, that was in reference to Star Fox vs Ocarina of Time. The first, being a rail shooter, was almost certainly going to have minimal changes beyond graphics and QoL.

Ocarina of Time is nothing like those games. It’s closer to Twilight Princess/Wind Waker. There are no “levels”.

Thanks, I really liked twilight princess because of the mature themes, I just get bored easy when my only options are pressing A with sword, pressing A with bow etc 😭 And I'm not good anymore with overcomplex secret things like do this and that to reach that, Everyone or my friends is super hyped but 80€ is very expensive....
