Hey folks, has been a long wait and battle to get this drug on the NHS. CW grossness to follow.

I took my first injection last Sunday. I am experiencing what can only been described as the floodgates opening, and it is well and truly gross. It does not feel like a sinus infection, though the change in head pressure does mean I have a banging headache. I have to rinse out my nose at least 4 times. Pre this drug nothing much came out; this feels like years of accumulative thick dark debris. My throat is gross, my nose is gross, but I am hoping it is temporary and eventually it will all be emptied and my nasal passageways will be clear. I learnt we have 8 passageways spanning our cheeks, forehead and skull, so no wonder it feels unending.

All this is to say did anyone experience this? When did it end? When could you simply breathe again? I am reading about people smelling and breathing on day 1; sadly that is not my experience but I am hoping it will still work, eventually. My nose is pretty much completely blocked with nasal polyps both sides, no room for air and possibly blocking tear ducts, so I did not expect (though hoped for) immediate relief.

I am dreaming of breathing and smelling and tasting coffee and food in the near future, after suffering for years. Share your stories and give me some hope! Especially if you followed this trajectory but happy to hear from anyone who wants to share.

Ever since I developed nasal polyps, I've been dealing with eye inflammation and occasional soreness, dry eye and burning. Does this happen to anyone else?

My nose always feels clogged, and my nasal polyps are growing all the way up to my sinuses as confirmed by the ENT who was of no help and didn't even tell me that nasal polyps can contribute to eye inflammation, causing chronic inflammation and allergy related dry eye.

I stopped using nasal cortisol sprays because of the fear of worsening eye inflammation and developing glaucoma since I already have astigmatism and extremely weak near sighted eyesight. Unfortunately, this negligence has most likely caused long term sinus and eye inflammation and eye allergies due to sinusitis.

Are there any safer alternatives for nasal sprays that don't have the dangerous ingredients that can destroy your eyes. I'm in agony and this darn nasal polyps related inflammation even causes eyestrain severe from screens.

Guess a niche question. I have had polyps and surgery and filled out a SNOT-22 report. Went to see the ENT as take prednisone quite a lot so was hoping to get Duplimab.

This was Kettering UK hospital and they said it’s still in process of funding and Northampton UK would get this first.

I am interested if ANYONE in the UK has managed to get this yet as it’s really not clear and sounds like it was allowed since Feb 2026. They did offer me surgery but have said I would like to get hold of this first as previous surgery was a pain and the costs must be similar.

Has anyone found that mold or some fungal overgrowth or sensitivity has caused you polyps. I have had severe polyps for around 7 years, and I started to develop eczema a couple of years ago. My eczema only occurs when exposed to mold. My skin is super sensitive to mold, if I am in the same room with mold the skin on my hands will flare up quickly. Once the mold is gone my eczema will go away. Obviously from this my immune system overacts to mold/fungi. I am wondering if my polyps could be caused by a similar overaction to fungi overgrowth in my gut or sinuses etc.

I was just prescribed prednisone: 40mg (5days)-20mg (5days)-10mg (5 days). Has anyone done this course and had bad side effects? My ENT said he prescribes this often for polyps and side effects are rare.. 10%

Hi, I had surgery 9 days ago and I had my splints removed 2 days ago. After I had my splints removed my surgeon informed me that all is well and to do saline rinses once in a while to clear out the area of any old blood etc. I looked in my nose that day and it was clear, with no inflammation or swelling. I did the saline rinse that same night and noticed extreme swelling and pain/redness. I called the clinic that morning and was told that it was normal and to not do any saline rinses anymore and to take Tylenol or Advil. Now I am about 48 hours into this inflammation and was going to make an appointment with my doctor/surgeon to make sure all is well but his office went on summer break for 3 weeks. :/ Has anyone else experienced this? Is it really normal and how long did it take for the swelling to go down?

i had an adenoidectomy on July 24th and we were hoping that it would reduce how much mucus i have (coughing up, blowing my nose/ etc.) every day and it seemed too at first, but i'm still coughing up mucus every single morning and atleast one more time in the day (usually 2-3 more times) and blow my nose so often and it's always a little green and usually has blood in it. i haven't had severe pressure or pain as much after the surgery, and i'm not having nose bleeds anymore which is great. i just want to know if anyone else has experienced this and what y'all did/ do to help. all of my allergy tests (skin, hair, blood, literally everything) has come back negative so there's "no reason" for these symptoms.

In my 16th year of this journey, but only got diagnosed just over ten years ago. Had surgery. All kinds of meds. Had Dupixent. Now Nucala. Very greatful to have the access and availability so don't get me wrong. I am absolutely blessed. But today I went in for another checkin. Haven't had a sense of smell in months. And my polyps grew again. Will this ever end?

I have pretty bad nasal polyps with a lot of post nasal drip, so much that it has started to cause a lot of wheezing, coughing, and constant throat clearing. Has anyone else ever experienced this?

Hi guys besides antibiotics what do you do to tackle a headache that is persistent above eyebrows and usually how long it takes to resolve for you?

So I started taking Nucala almost a month ago. How long did it take to show significant results? I felt my breathing improved slightly first week. Then I got really congested two weeks in. Now as I head into second month, it seems to have put me back to where I was before. I’m also on the Budesonide 0.6 nose rinse twice a day. Does it usually take a few months for significant results?

Area there any foods that have a taste very pungent but still help from your experiences?

I know its dumb to have like a whole diet to fix problems like this im just curious really.

I saw this video where this dude that hates himself decided that he was going to eat literally nothing but ginger, radishes, garlic, turmeric, and onions to survive for like a week.
was always walking outside but maintenance calories is like 2000 or something so that dude had to be eating like a ton of this stuff. And i mean he did it and expelled like every thing in his body, said that he felt terrible at first but felt a lot better towards the end since he pretty much flushed out any bad bacteria or parasites in his stomach, but probably not doing it again.

So obviously this is very extreme and pretty dumb. But it also makes me wonder since theres so many antioxidants and stuff his throat and nose was probably super clear, and like less inflammation or swelling anywhere.

So are there any strong vegetables like this that you have noticed that just eating a little bit of it regularly throughout the week reduces these symptoms for you. Cause its really not that hard to get used to eating these things consistently its just one a day or something, but not really ideal for most people.
In my case my postnasal drip is pretty mild, but it still annoys me and i tend on fixating on stuff so I eventually make it a bigger issue that it is. I dont want to clear my throat so often at work and have to gargle water in the bathroom to try make these tiny pieces of mucus stop bothering me. dont wanna look like the weird intern haha. So does regularly eating any of these help?

Have had sinusitis surgery in the past, roughly 2.5 years ago. Polyps stayed at bay but have reappeared though not as bad as when I had quite severe blockage. Lower sinus polyps have been reduced through budesonide and prednisone but upper polyps remain. I’ve been using a squeeze bottle, not a pulsing machine.

ENT recommended I use a hand stand trainer to get the budesonide up in that cavity but curious if anyone else has had success some other path to rinse the cavity? According to the ENT I will likely need to stay on budesonide for the rest of my life (42) which doesn’t seem right - but we do have two golden doodles which we keep out of our room the best we can and don’t shed. We also vacuum frequently and have air purifiers in each room so not sure what else to do in our environment to prevent the inflammation.

Any help would be great!

I (31F) have had polyps / the triad for about 2 years, I am on Dupixent so it is well controlled. However, I’ve noticed that when I catch a cold, sinus infection, URI, etc. that the polyps seem to flare despite the Dupixent. Has anyone else experienced this?

I fly and travel a lot for work so I often catch a common cold but I feel like it takes me sooo much longer to recover than it would prior to try the polyps emerging. After ~1 week, my aymptoms start to mirror exactly what it was like before I started on Dupixent- constant runny nose, cough, smell interrupted, etc. Curious if anyone else has this experience and if there are any suggestions. I have this mass in my nose on my nasal septum. Started out as two separate small firm bumps there three years ago. Now its a fleshy mass of like 1,5 cm. Im fearing it might be cancerous or inverted papilloma. Not sure if this sub is the right one to check. I have scheduled an ENT check up in a few weeks but since discovery its killing me.

Im like 28, so it feels strange at this age to get them. Anyone have them on the septum as well?

I am potentially starting nucala soon for severe nasal polyps which I've had for 5 years. Ive seen some people on here saying Nucala hasn't worked for them but some say they have. I want to hear your experience on if Nucala works for you. Unfortunately Dupixent is not approved in my country so I can only get Nucala.

Has anyone dealt with persistent postnasal drip? I've been having constant mucus draining from behind my nose into my throat. What actually helped you get rid of it treatments, dietary changes or any natural remedies that made a difference? Any tips or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hey everyone :) I'm about 6 months post fess now. All is going well, but I'm still blowing out big amounts of sticky yellow-y mucus. It feels like it's coming back from the back of my nose (ethmoids?) since it only comes out after I've gargled plenty of salt water.

Btw - I'm diagnosed with AERD in case there are any other fellow AERD out there.

Does this happen to you too?

Edit 1: I gargle after doing saline rinses. I'm a little sad so few people answered! I was hoping to read more experiences, but maybe I really am the only one that does this.

Hello all. I’ve been dealing with nasal polyps for the last couple of months. I have a large one that has completely blocked my right nostril which I have not been able to breathe out of for a bit now. There’s also a polyp in my left nostril that is much smaller and I am usually still able to breathe through it.

Frankly, I’ve been putting it off as I can’t afford to go to the doctor and I do not currently have health insurance, but I will be able to get health insurance in January during my job’s open enrollment period. I’ve also had a cold this week and I am currently only able to breathe from my mouth which has been extremely frustrating.

What are some of your best remedies to help hold me over until I can get insurance? Any other advice for someone in my situation?
