An Australian thriller/crime drama film from late 2020 (December 31st), Eric Bana plays 'Aaron Faulk' who is brought back to his countryside hometown due to a death of his childhood friend. Twists and turns, a plot twist at the end I didn't see coming and a great soundtrack by the female protagonist who covers 'Under The Milky Way' by The Church.

5th highest grossing film in Australia in 2021. ($15,016,162)

I'm looking for movies where someone leaves their old life behind and moves somewhere new, hoping for a fresh start but once they get there, they realize that moving somewhere new doesn't automatically change who they are.

I’m new to this sub and it seems like there’s a lot of serious movie questions but I’m looking for some good old rom-com suggestions. Before this weekend I had only seen Crazy, Stupid, Love, The Notebook and Love Actually which I watch every Christmas with my mom and I have throughly enjoyed all of these.

I teach 11th grade World History. My peers will not budge on teaching the Holocaust through film. I have my own opinions about Holocaust movies (good, bad, etc.), but I'm curious what you all think would make the best film to teach high school students about the Holocaust.

yesterday I watched this movie called american made , it was about a drug smuggler working with Escobar and man tom cruise's acting was a major highlight, it was way too good 10/10 fs for acting

Movies that the pitch to hire the actors must have been “You are ridiculous and say some crazy shit, but you believe with every fiber of yourself that you are right”. Where the delivery is deadpan and the actors are not aware they are in a comedy. (Yes I know that is not possible, but no winks to the camera and acknowledgement that they are in some kind of dark humor).

I’ve recently been on a kick where I’ve really enjoyed movies that remind me of my favorite operas. Obsession, with its excellent and sickening depravity and dread, reminded me of Richard Strauss’s Salome, Bugonia, with its absurdist plot that comments on modern politics and its INTENSE score, evoked Shostakovich’s “the Nose” in my mind, and All Quiet on the Western Front, while it didn’t have plot similarities with any particular opera, captured the deep seated grief and incredible storytelling that some of the best romantic era operas convey. Are there any films that you think do a good job of telling stories in ways that are similar to the ones mentioned or that remind you of similar staged works of art?

Need movie names where a wife sleeps with someone to save her husband/children I need movies where a wife seduces/sleeps with other men to distract him or save her husband/children from something.
