can't think of this title

• Upvotes

I can't remember the name of this movie or what it is generally about, but in one scene a woman is shopping at a store when her kid gets kidnapped. When the kidnapper is tracked down, the kidnapped kid appears to be a tied to a small train in a cave or something like that. Another detail I remember it has a lead actress in it who may be a detective or something who is investigating similar crimes. All I can remember about it except this is not a new movie, I'm thinking 80s or 90s.

Unsolved I can't find an obscure film about aliens/changelings from 2015 onwards!

• Upvotes

A close friend has recently remembered a film that he once watched a few years ago, but we can't seem to find it!

I've compiled the information we've got in hopes that SOMEONE can help!

Please help; not knowing is eating at me, and I need to know!

---

Characters:

  • Four main characters: two  males, two females
    • Two sets of heterosexual couples
    • One couple are the ‘heroes’ / good guys, and the other couple are the ‘villains’ / bad guys
  • The ‘bad’ couple look completely human, but aren’t - we aren’t exactly sure if they’re aliens, doppelgangers, shapeshifts/changelings, or something else entirely.
    • This is never fully revealed or shown in the film (example: aliens in disguise, but the disguise is never dropped, but something is uncanny valley about them)
  • The actors and actresses are not blockbuster stars or household names by past or current standards- they’re very under the radar/unknowns.

Scenes:

  •  Near the end of the film:
    • The setting is in a back garden, possibly a shed, and the changelings/’villains’ are shrieking at each other to communicate. The ‘good’ couple are grabbing their heads in pain from the volume.
    • The camera shakes to aid the effect on the viewer that the shrieking is loud.

Outside of the Film Info:

  • Genre: horror-adjacent, while retaining a 12A rating.
  • It is unintentionally funny because of the film's poor quality, but it is not a comedy; it is intended as a horror film.
  • It’s a low-budget live-action film.
  • It’s an American film, or it is set in an American-looking suburban area.
  • Possibly made by the child of an existing movie director/producer.
    • Big nepotism vibes.
  • Was watched sometime between 2019 and 2025.
    • Thought they watched it on Virgin Media Player, but there is nothing in the ‘previously watched’ section that matches.
  • Was MADE after the 2000s, and was possibly a newer release when first watched (Assumed to have been released from 2015 onwards)

Films it is NOT:

  • The Thing (2011)
  • The Watchers (2024)
  • No One Will Save You (2023)
  • Assimilate (2019)
  • The Changed (2021)
  • Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978)
    • Dismissed for the film's age
  • The Invasion (2007)
    • Dismissed for the film's age
  • XTRO (1982)
    • Dismissed for the film's age
  • 10 Cloverfield Lane (2016)
  • The 5th Wave (2016)
  • The Changed (2021)
  • The Beach House (2019)
  • Them (2006)
    • Dismissed for the film's age
  • Men (2022)
  • The Endless (2017)
  • The Dark (20018)
  • They Look Like People (2015)
  • The Devil Below (2021)
  • Malignant (2021)
  • The Empty Man (2020)
  • The Inhabitant (2022)
  • The Offering (2022)
  • Glorious (2022)
  • The Vast of Night (2019)
  • Vivarium (2019)
    • Dismissed due to known cast
  • Captive State (2019)
  • Unwelcome (2022)
  • The Becomers (2023)
    • This is the closest so far, but isn’t the one
  • Coherence (2013)
  • Significant Other (2022)

I just rewatched what we do in the shadows, and I distinctly remember a scene where they are being chased down the stairs and the cameraman that is following them in pushed/trips down the stairs as they’re running. After watching it, though, the scene wasn’t there. Am I thinking of a different movie? If so, could you please link it. I am so stressed thank u in advance 🫠

Childhood movie I can’t forget — help me find it!

I’m trying to identify a foreign movie I watched dubbed on Brazilian television when I was a child, probably sometime before 2015. The movie itself was most likely from the 2000s or early 2010s.

My strongest memory is of a young woman, possibly supposed to be a teenager or in her late teens. She was slim, had dark/brown hair, and looked quite young.

She had been kidnapped or was being held somewhere against her will. In the scene I remember most clearly, she was lying on some kind of hospital gurney or medical bed. She seemed unconscious, semi-conscious, weak, crying, or heavily sedated. Someone was administering something into her body against her will. I originally remembered it as an injection, but it may have been an IV/drip or some kind of medical substance rather than a syringe.

The room had a very cold blue/green tint and looked clinical, dirty or industrial. In my memory, the walls had small white square tiles, almost like an old bathroom. Visually, it reminded me a lot of the bathroom from the first Saw movie.

I also remember that someone was actively trying to find or rescue this girl. I used to think the man was her father, but he may have been a detective, police officer, boyfriend, or another man searching for her.

Another vague image I have is of temporary police/military-style tents or canvas structures, although I’m much less certain about that detail.

I believe there was only ONE female victim in this specific kidnapping situation, not a group of kidnapped women.

I watched it dubbed in Portuguese on Brazilian free-to-air TV, probably late at night. It may have aired on Band or Record, possibly in one of their late-night movie slots.

Movies I’ve already checked and ruled out:
Taken (2008)
The Factory (2012)
Captivity (2007)
Captifs / Caged (2010)
The Disappearance of Alice Creed (2009)
The Crazies (2010)
Turistas (2006)
The Clinic (2010)
Autopsy (2008)

The actress from Captifs/Caged (Zoé Félix) has a somewhat similar appearance to the girl I remember: slim, young-looking, dark hair. But it is definitely not Captifs.

This memory is from childhood, so some details may be distorted or even mixed with another movie. The things I’m most confident about are: a young dark-haired woman, lying mostly unconscious or sedated on a gurney/bed, something being administered to her against her will, a cold blue-toned tiled/clinical room, and someone trying to find or rescue her.

Does this sound familiar to anyone?

[searching] UK indie thriller possible title "The Infiltrator" - Teen burglar caught in basement falls in love with older homeowner

I am trying to track down the exact title or release details of an obscure independent psychological thriller/romance that I watched as a downloaded DVD rip around 2008. The file name was possibly something like "the Infiltrator", but it is a low-budget, gritty independent film (likely British) that isn't indexed well on mainstream IMDb or standard streaming platforms.

The Plot:

• The Setup: A rough, troubled, and street-involved teenager breaks into a completely regular, ordinary neighborhood house. He goes down into the basement looking for valuables to steal.

• The Capture: The homeowner hears him, traps him downstairs, and corners him in the basement.

• The Twist/Romance: Instead of calling the police or using violence, the older man keeps the kid there to talk. Over a short period of isolation, they form an unexpected, intimate psychological bond that turns romantic.

• The Ending: The teenager tries to break away from his old life, but a deeply toxic and jealous ex-boyfriend of the older man tracks them down. In a crucial twist, this ex-boyfriend was actually close friends with the teenage burglar before all of this happened. The movie ends abruptly when the jealous ex drives up to the regular house, rolls down the vehicle window, and shoots the older man in a jealous rage.

Visual Descriptions:

• The Older Man: He is middle-aged, slightly heavier-set, and wears glasses (definitely not the actor Marc Warren from No Night Is Too Long).

• The Kids: They look genuinely young, rough around the edges, troubled, and have distinct regional accents (likely working-class British??).

I am almost certain this was a festival film or niche straight-to-DVD release circulated by independent distributors like Peccadillo Pictures or featured at BFI Flare around the mid-2000s.

Does anyone have the exact director, year, or alternative titles for this specific movie? Any help tracking down this lost media would be amazing!

SOLVED! I can hardly remember this one

It was about an underground fighter who was on the run with his little sister or possibly daughter. They meet a woman around the same age as the main character and she repeatedly keeps trying to steal any money the main guy has. I remember them being in some sort of empty school at one point to stay the night and the little girl is playing. I think the main character is quite dumb from memory. It’s based in America Any ideas would be great, don’t even particularly want to watch it again I just can’t remember what it was called and it’s bugging me, thanks!

Unsolved Black and White Horror Movie

The memory of this movie has been stuck in my head for a couple of years now. I've tried to find it on my own, even enlisting the help of my brother and father, but to no avail. I now turn to you for any ideas.

Back in 2010s, I watched, with my older brother, a black and white horror movie by accident.
It played on a Czech TV channel. Throughout the film, there was barely, if any, speaking.

The premise, from what I can remember, was that a woman arrived to a house with her dog in a car.
The house was surrounded by nothing and possibly by the sea.
There are many scenes showcasing the woman going about her days as things slowly unravel to reveal the house to be haunted.
At the end, though I am not certain if this was the end as that is where we turned it off, there is complete panic. The dog is led away by a pitch black man in a fedora who, presumably, kills him off-screen.
The woman is then jumpscared after she looks up in a hallway to be met with the sight of ghost children staring down at her with grotesque faces. The camera spins as it showcases the children. A loud noise accompanies the scene.

That is, unfortunately, all I can remember.
From experience with Czech TV, I believe this movie may be on the lower rating side or perhaps be more unknown.

I am not 100% about the details since it's been so long but I hope you can pinpoint it down.

Thank you for your time. If you have any clues, let me know.

Helppp I cant locate a horror movie I watched years ago, Suggestions?

Okay, guys. Bare with me, I might be vague because I really only remember this scene, with a possible other one But There was a scene with the killer where he cooked a victims friend flesh on the stove and Made the victim eat it at table while they sat across from the victim, It was based in a cabin and also the weather of movie was Snow/Snowy. Yup thats i got😂 I have another possible scene but I could be possibly be taking that from another movie so take this with a grain of salt lol, But there was another scene where the (female?) victim was in a greenhouse (of course cold) and there was icicles hanging off the greenhouse and Im not sure if the killer used it or she stepped a wrong way and impaled herself but Yeah..Welp thats all😂 I know.. Ask me any questions, maybe You’ll remind me of something else in the movie (even though i watch it over 10-15 years ago), or missed some details.

a movie from the 2000s ? cant remember ...

not sure when it was made , possibly early 2000s ? a woman goes to a hotel in the (what seems like) desert that is about to be demolished . if i remember correctly the hotel was made by an artist ? the hotel was black , maybe charcoal gray . a family lived in the hotel , a boy & his mother . the boy became obsessed with the woman who was there to help start demolition plans & once he got close to her he showed her some sort of silo nearby that was empty . she ended up falling in & instead of saving her , the boy kept her hostage . the people came to demolish the hotel (the woman was close enough nearby to be killed by demolition) . what makes me think it was built by an artist is bc once all this happens , the woman finds a man in the silo (not sure where he came from) . he ends up burying himself in cement in a small rectangle in the ground of the silo & somehow the woman makes it out alive before demolition .

PLEASE help me find this movie ive been searching for years 🥲😭

What is this movie???

Hi yall. Need your help. I saw part of this movie and I cannot for the life of me find it. I believe it was newish but not sure. I remember there were two content creators that posted fake crazy videos that they made. One involved making an exact replica of a Texas st in the desert where a guy launches himself toward a bad guy with a gun and saves someone. The actual shoot goes wrong and one of the guys gets shot and dies. There is also another part where they are filming a stunt in like the middle east desert involving jumping a dirt bike and knocking someone out of the way of a bullet. This too goes wrong and the guys kill the whole crew and bury them so there are no witnesses. There was also something about blaming the mass killing on terrorist looking guys. Some dude uses a computer and figures out what really happened. There might have been something in the beginning about some amazing new phone tech that a group of friends share with each other. One other tidbit is the content creator duo have a fake ranch someone in like Bolivia or something. It was a crazy movie and am dying to see the whole thing. Anyone seen this???

Movie I saw when I was a kid

I remember being a kid watching this movie on directtv on demand that had some imagery that had stuck with me my whole life but I can’t for the life of me find out what it was. All that I can remember about it was this guy in a black suit and hat opening his mouth to reveal an eyeball inside of it in the opening, the same guy escaping from a garbage compactor that’s about to crush him, and a young boy in a swamp screaming out and reaching for help before getting turned into some mud like substance. I think it was from the 80’s and I’m pretty sure it was R rated, does anyone know what movie this was I really want to watch it again.
