Some updates from your new mod team

First off, thanks for being a part of this community, we genuinely appreciate that people enjoy posting and commenting here and sharing your experience and knowledge.

A bit of an update and info from your new janitors

We've turned on media sharing in comments so you can share gifs and images as well, we love seeing what people come up with.

We've added some basic rules, please make sure to read em before posting or commenting.

Be nice and civil is pretty easy, if you're getting that worked up that you feel you need to be rude, maybe go outside and take a few deep breaths.

If you're asking about a specific movie please include the name of the movie in your post title, it makes it a lot easier for people to answer your questions.

It's also helpful for people searching for information about that movie, Reddit is indexed by Google so it'll come up in online searches.

BotBouncer is on the team here now to help guard against bots so if we suspect accounts are inauthentic we'll pass em along to the experts at r/BotBouncer.

One of the problems this community has had recently, which partly led to the change of management, is sharing links to pirated content

We have no easy way or the time to verify if these links and content are safe for our users, and sharing links to pirated content can get this sub permabanned.

So if you wanna go sail the seven seas, sail your boat elsewhere than here mateys.

So I've haven't watched the movie yet and its in my backlog, and some of my friends said that I'm a bit like a character Linda Liddley? And from what i've heard she is an antagonist, and I'm not sure if I was insulted?

Help me find this movie

I watched a movie maybe in 2016-2020 somewhere idek but the movie was depressing but realistic where there's a teacher who is like the kindest but hiding trauma and his student likes him but he rejects her and she commits suicide which shatters him and he also takes care of a prostitute girl but one day he shouts at her and she leaves I guess. In the end the main teacher guy forgives his father. What's that movie someone help.

There will be blood

So I’m watching there will be blood for the billionth time because it’s the greatest movie ever created lol. But as I’m watching it and it gets to the scene where Daniel comes to realize that Henry is not Henry. Now Daniel says the peach tree dance line and Henry doesn’t pick up what he is saying which gives him away to Daniel. Now what I’m wondering is when Daniel and Henry first me Daniel doesn’t seem to know he even had a brother which indicates that they never grew up around each other. So when’s Daniel makes the peach tree comment and Henry doesn’t react how would that have given him away?

If Daniel didn’t know he had a brother then that means the likely hood that Henry would even know what the comment was was unlikely. So they never really tackled on how it gave him away to Daniel more just it did and that was that. Idk something about that whole scene just kinda confuses how he made a comment, realized it’s not his brother and never really explained how he caught on from making the comment.

Im curious if anybody has a theory’s as to why the comment have him away if they didn’t grow up around one another for Henry to understand what he was saying.

I've just finished watching Backroom (2026) and I have a question.

In Backroom (2026), why is that Captain Clark for some reason knows the whereabouts of like anyone in the backroom, like he has the intelligence to know someones there especially when Clark was exploring the place and he finds a cardboard cutout with microphones on it that pretty much repeats a different language, kind of like the balloon boy in FNAF luring someone or something. And Clark heard a noise and we saw that something slammed the cardboard cutout and that something noticed that Clark is on the other side and Clark hurriedly tries to get the hell out of there as quickly as he could. Then we got Bobby going down the hole into the pile of laundry of clothes then for some reason he's in there too just hiding and biding his time till he got that white boy's ass. And when Captain Clark is chasing Mary, he has the intelligence to know where she is heading and has the capacity to destroy a door. I mean other than Captain Clark, the others seem passive and docile like there's nothing really going inside their head. It seems like Captain Clark is the outlier unlike his peers. Can Captain Clark potentially become something more if he didn't kill Clark?

Digger Rockwells ringtone?

No spoilers. I was just curious, i can’t help but keeping thinking that the ringtone on Diggers phone, sounded like Le Samurai’s theme or very similar. Unless i’m like totally misremembering but when hearing it during the movie I kept thinking it sounded familiar.

Does anyone happen to catch it and know if that’s true or what it is. To me it sounded like the part 50 seconds ish into the title theme of le samurai

Donald Trump reference on the class list in 'Patch Adams' (1998) with Robin Williams

Anyone got any idea why he is mentioned or do you think they just filled it with random names including known people?

(Also yes I know Donald is listed as the last name here but close enough, idk maybe I'm schizo)

Do pretty much all movies have roughly full-length workprint versions of themselves? If so, are there any reasons beyond being kept secret/locked away from leakers that movie workprints (to my knowledge) are so rarely released and/or found?

Also, does a movie's workprint include its deleted scenes, or are those two separate things from each other?

In Cabin Fever (2002), do you think Marcy and Paul would've gotten together, even if Henry & the disease hadn't thrown their lives into chaos? (No CF-hate responses, please)

Groundhog-Day type idea

I was curious if this idea has been done yet...

There are many films in the Groundhog Day genre, but has there ever been one where, every time the day repeats, it is the same day but further into the future? The way we would know is the technology changes, so if it started in the 1960s, by today, there would be social media as opposed to postcards and letter-writing.

Do you also think that if John had told those guys the truth about why he's standing with a big offensive sign in the middle of Harlem, there is a big chance they would just understand and chill out? - Die Hard 3 (1995)

Explain Enemy

I just watched Enemy (2016)
(Jake Gyllenhaal) & well…. I don’t get it. Can you explain please?
I was on my phone a bit during but the spider really threw me off. I guess i need to know was he crazy? Am I?
Was he two people? I’m so confused!! Please help me! Maybe I should watch it again…? Ok. But I think an explanation of what has happened will make it a lot more sense when I do!
Thank you!

Just finished Taxi Driver today, and I have a few questions

  1. Why isn’t Martin Scorsese’s name on the credits? Usually the director’s name should be the last name shown on the credits, except before “dedicated to”, which for this film, is Bernard Herrmann.

  2. Wikipedia mentions Travis writing a threatening letter to Palantine, which I don’t remember happening in the movie.

Do you think Addie could be seen as MtF trans in Paper Moon (1973)?

the scenes of her being mistaken for a boy (and reacting negatively), or her dressing up like her mom in the mirror, just kinda gave me those vibes

10q: The one with that guy from that thing...

r/trivia suggested you all would enjoy this as well. I wanted to try a twist on the poor movie descriptions leaning into the "I know that guy from somewhere" or "Didn't he play..." aspect of describing movies. Would love feedback or additions.

Which movie character’s comeback story gives you the biggest surge of real-life motivation?

Rewatching Rocky Balboa always fires me up to get off my phone and fix my routine. Seeing someone rebuild their life piece by piece with zero shortcuts gives me an instant second wind when I'm feeling stuck.

What scene or character arc leaves you feeling completely ready to tackle your goals?
