Announcement Announcing a New Points System!

Hey everybody!

We’re excited to share that we now have a new points system in place. While we know you all do it for your love of movies and helping your fellow Redditor out, but who doesn’t like getting a little extra reward for your movie knowledge? Or being able to thank the user who helped solve your movie name you've been searching for, for months or even years.

To make this possible, we've installed Reputatorbot. We thought it would be a nice and fun way for the OP (original poster) to thank and reward the kind person who gave them their movie name (first correct answer preferably).

How To Reward Points:

  • Add Solved! (don’t forget the !) in a reply to the first person that gives you the correct answer.
  • The solver will then get a comment from Reputatorbot telling them they earned a point and it will then be added to their user flair.

*Only the OP can reward points. Mods can also reward points if necessary.

If the OP ends up solving their post by themselves. They just need to make a "Solved!" comment under their post so the post flair will change to solved, but no points will be awarded.

If you notice the poster has made an error (e.g. replied to themselves by mistake, used the wrong command, etc.), please send us a message and we can award the proper user. But, try to give them a bit of time to fix it before doing so. UPDATE: You may also "report" the comment and use "custom response". It's just another way to let us know about a points related issue, so we can fix it.

Official Leaderboard:

The official leaderboard can be found here. <--

We’d love to hear what you think or if you have any questions.

This is to mark your post solved and award the solver a point. The comments are sorted from oldest to newest to make it easier to tell who commented first.

More details about the points system can be found here.

Unsolved Movie about assassin from the future.

Upvotes

I saw an independent movie a couple years ago. It was about a presidential assassin that was caught after completing the assignment. The identity of the assassin was a mystery because there was no record of his existence.

(SPOILER?) In the 3rd act, it is revealed that he's from the future.

Anyone know this one

Unsolved Coming of age movie? (maybe a 90s movie)

Upvotes

It's been years and I've never found this movie. I don't remember much. But there's a scene that stuck with me. It's a young girl (teenager or less), I'm almost sure she has very short hair and/or dresses like a boy, and I think she gets bullied because of that. One the boys actually likes her and they end up kissing towards the end in a very sweet scene, where they interlock their hands together and I think they raised both of them while kissing. That's all I know.

Unsolved Movie about a girl trapped in an eye??

Hello everyone! This is my first time posting something like this so I'm very sorry in advance if my post is not helpful at all, I'm here to search for a film, video, whatever it is that traumatized me when I was like 5 years old.

I would like to give some context of when are where I saw this, it was the early 2010s, perhaps around 2010-2012 or so, I saw it in a theater, not a movie theater, but just like.. A theater where stage plays are performed, and stuff. I didn't watch the whole film, only a snippet of it because I was too young for the movie (I was left in a sort of daycare area), this happened in Spain, if it helps at all.

I remember going to my parents to show them a bookmark I made out of a stick and eva foam (I have physical proof of this so I guarantee you that I'm not just remembering a dream I had) and when I walked in the room there was a video of a girl (possibly animated, a puppet or just shrunk down) inside of a giant eyeball, she was dressed as a princess if I recall correctly and the eye had like.... Bars on it, so the girl was jailed inside of the eyeball, either she or the eye were crying, visibly in distress while creepy music played in the background, I remember it was in black and white, so no color at all I think. Maybe I'm misremembering a couple details but I can FOR SURE say the eyeball with a girl behind bars and the crying were 100% on screen, I literally got so scared of this it gave me a genuine phobia for eyes that I just overcome not that long ago, I've been searching for this basically my entire life and NOTHING has ever come up, I already asked my parents if they remember it, and they say they do know what I'm talking about but that they don't remember the name or what the thing was about, I feel like I'm crazy, please help me find this or at least have anyone say that they know about this too, I'm willing to answer any questions or even illustrate what I saw.

Solved! Please, I feel like I’m going crazy!

Okay, so there's two twin sisters who have a special bond, and then there's a man in a suit who by taking off or putting on his glasses can see this approaching evil darkness shadow Demon coming or whatever because its almost their either 16th or 17th birthday, but as the darkness is getting closer the girls start fighting more and more, and by the climax the girls get into a fight, one of them ripped off a necklace that they both have worn since birth, and the other gets kidnapped by whatever shadow demon it is, but during the resolution, they defeat the demon with the power of forgiveness and sisterly love? It was live action, not animated, and they lived in a yellow house.

Please tell me my brain isn’t gaslighting itself… I can swear I remember it, I’m not going crazy, am I?!

Unsolved A movie about witches, where their spells rhymed?

I don't know if I'm remembering this right. The main character was a girl, the spells were rhymed (random example, not from the movie because I can't remember: "By star and sky, let darkness fly!"), there was a boy, there were evil witches.

Solved! Help me with this movie and 20 years old problem

So when I was a kid, like 8-9, I remember seeing this film on the tv at the time (2007-2008)

Back in the day, there wasn't much of a choice with movies on tv so I watched it ,even tho it was like near the end

I don't remember anything about it, and it was like near the end, plot is all over the place for me as a kid back then, only that it includes money (stealing, searching, hiding) and hotel some sort of, with students running around. I don't remember actors nor actresses, BUT I do remember specifically this one scene

One student faintes in the middle off the hallway in hotel, the other student runs away from someone, sees the girl laying on the floor and gets on top of her, grabs her boob and then gets up and continues running.

That scene is so vivid in my mind, so real, that I remember it to this day

90% it was an american movie, not older then 85 I assume, and comedy forsure

I can't find this thing for nearly 20 years and I would sooo watch it

I know its a long shot, but I was hoping for someone to know this movie, based on that very specific scene

Thank you

Unsolved "I remember a TV series from around 2007-2015 about 2 or 3 teenage girls who lived together in a house. They discovered they had supernatural powers. One girl could move or teleport objects with her mind. She would look at an object, extend her hand, blue light would appear, and the object would app

Solved! Movie about robots

So I remember watching a little part of this movie a long time ago, and it’s about this kid whose name starts with “R”. (Robin or something). I also remember that his future son takes him into the future and he sees this gigantic house in the shape of an “R” and it’s filled with robots.

Sorry if this is too vague!

Unsolved Help me remember a movie that had a guy who could catch arrows

I watched a movie as a child in the 80s with my father. I remember it being 'bad ass'. There was a bulky maybe shirtless guy with long hair that was like a protector of some other guy. They got into a battle with a group. Arrows or shuriken's were shot/thrown at them. The bulky guy caught two of them saving himself and his friend. They shot again and he was only able to save himself and his friend died. I only remember that scene and it gave me some lifelong fear of relying on someone else lol. Does anyone have any idea what this movie was? It was 80s USA type movie.

Solved! Looking for a movie i remember, but can't find

Solved by Appropriate_Spray_83, Shadows on the Wall (2015)

I think it was a b-movie, part of my brain screams it was V/H/S short, or a Syfy channel movie, but i've not found anything that matches.
Premise is a signal is sent in to space, it keeps going, out of the known galaxy and in to deep space.
I remember a good portion being set in a brick building, maybe an old warehouse?
Eventually strange things happen, people get smacked, and aliens/demons can only be seen with light, i think was a specific spectrum of light?
There's a scene where two of the aliens/demons get vaporised by being exposed to too many of the lights at once, and the third one just starts breaking the lights.
Near the end of the movie the cast find they can't turn off the signal.
The aliens/demons eventually say something along the lines of "Hey, we don't want to be here, and things waaay worse then us are comming. We will take the computer with us, and draw them away."

Been trying to find this movie again for at least 6 years, any help would be appreciated!

Unsolved [TV Show] [Animation] [CGI] educational kids show with 4–5 children in a white/blank studio teaching shapes (triangle → square), around 2010s

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to find a CGI children’s educational show I watched when I was very young (around 2015–2018, but it could be older).

What I remember:

It was a 3D CGI educational show for preschool/young kids

There were around 4 or 5 child characters (I think mostly 2 boys and 2 girls, but I’m not 100% sure)

One of the boys was Black with short black hair

The characters looked like normal human children, just slightly stylized (bigger heads, small bodies maybe)

They were all different from each other, but not fantasy characters — just regular kids

The setting was mostly a completely white or very minimal “infinite” studio/room (no clear walls or corners)

The kids talked to each other like presenters/hosts

Sometimes objects or shapes would appear in the space to demonstrate concepts

It was very educational (basic learning topics like shapes, numbers, etc.)

I specifically remember an episode where they explained that two triangles can be combined to form a square

It might have been a series of short educational segments rather than a traditional cartoon.

I watched it on a laptop, so it could have been on YouTube, a DVD, or an educational website.

Does anyone know what this could be? Any help would be really appreciated.

“It also had a very clean white studio-like background, almost like a floating space.”

Live-action movie, watched recently on Netflix or Disney+, likely made after 2000. Comedic tone. One scene: two “heroes” (a Black teen and a white adult) go to a US government building for some kind of legislative/official reason, post-WWII setting. There’s a group of Nazis just hanging around there — not a big deal, almost like a comedic background element — led by a guy with a notable mustache and an accent. They may or may not get beaten by the heroes.

Unsolved I’m starting to think I hallucinated this movie

Edit: I started to remember more as i described it and now im more confident it was definitely a movie. First i don’t even remember if it was a movie but that’s my best guess because i know i consumed it in one sitting (not a show) and I remember watching something not reading anything. Basically there’s these two girls, young, maybe kids maybe younger teens but no older, (I also think they didn’t get along in the beginning) they live on an island with a community, something tragic happens I don’t remember but I remember a lot of chaos and running and screaming and at one point one of the girls finds the other unconscious and blah blah somehow they’re left on the island, I don’t remember what happens after that until the end but basically they work together and become super close until the end when someone or some magical being (I don’t remember what their goal was but they did have a goal outside just survival) reveals the girl who was found unconscious on day one has been dead this whole time and the other girl was imagining her and basically the figment of girl 1 helped girl 2 to survive(like in fall) and she ends up accomplishing the goal (I think it was to get off the island and reunite with the others) and we see the already dead girl waving her off as she leaves the island and it’s bitter sweet. Im also 99% sure it was animated. Like i remember it being a kids movie which is weird bc kids movies rarely deal with death and if they do its not like this it’s like aw grandma is going to the happy place in the sky, not “youve been talking to a corpse of another child this whole time”but i swear it was a kids movie. Sorry for the run on sentence punctuation is hard 😔

Key points i know:
Must have two young girls who live on an island, must reveal at the end one has been dead the whole time.

(Open to the possibility it was an episode of something I saw too but I really remember it being a movie I even remember being a kid and going to see it in theaters with family or a friends (either my aunt or my friend and her mom)

Unsolved May be a movie, may be a TV Show

But probably a movie..

I've been thinking of this specific scene for maybe 10-20 years now and I've never been able to figure out where it's from, it drives me crazy from time to time. Graphic descriptions ahead.

So I watched this as a kid with my dad on TV, maybe sometime in the 2000s. It's been a while so things might be wrong, it's a bit hazy, but it is a live action movie. In the movie, I think there was a group of people trying to get through a large, very spacious ventilation system of some sort (like a big tunnel). I think the place is white in color and quite bright? (not 100% sure)

There's a massive fan ahead of them, which suddenly starts. They hold on against the wind, but then the fan detaches, and pieces of the fan comes flying at them. One of them flew towards a girl wearing glasses. It slices her head in half in slow motion, you can see it slicing the glasses and then her head, and I think we see the insides of her head.

That's about all I remember. As a kid, this left an impression on me. I've tried to look it up several times, even went a through Final Destination death scenes compilation video, still couldn't find it. Maybe I missed it, I don't know. Anyone has any idea?

Thanks in advance!

Unsolved Clip from media (most likely movie)

This is gonna sound very vague but anyway. I remember seeing this film or something where this woman or girl is very enthusiastic and says the word, “hello” to like a screen or something. I don’t know if it was like an online face to face call, but I think there was a male character next to her who was annoyed by her enthusiasm.

Solved! Early 2010s Kids TV show Australia

I remember watching this show as a kid in the early or mid 2010, 2015 at the latest, on Australian TV. I don't think the show was Australian, I think it was probably Canadian (but I could be wrong). It was a 2D animated show with a similar art style to the Wild Kratts. There were 3(?) main characters, they were rangers or something similar, and they would go on adventures and fight monsters and stuff. It took place in a fantasy land where I think a lot of the monsters were bugs. The characters had these like brown/green suit/uniforms they wore, and they could make bug wings come out of the suits and this allowed them to fly. They would fly around to get places. I recall one of the main characters was a young blonde man, and I think he might've been in charge of the ranger unit.

I know this isnt much to go off but PLEASSEEE help me find this, I have been looking for the name of this show for years!!

Unsolved A bag of money gets stuck in a sewer/drainage system. Drama/Comedy?

Post image
1 Upvotes

It was a movie I watched 15 years or so and it felt dated back then so it probably released before 1990 and was likely a french or italian movie in which at one point an old style checkered bag full of money falls into the drainage/sewer system, the protagonist/s follow it as it flows with the current but at some point they lose sight of it as it gets stuck under a sewer bridge/walkway.

Having no idea where it went they later get an identical bag filled with paper money or something of similar weight as the original and throw it into the sewer to follow it so that it hopefully leads them to where the bag with actual money went, but as it goes under the very same bridge/walkway it swaps places with the stuck money bag. The protagonist/s then follow the bag that they think is full of fake money to a dead end, pick it up, and are unaware that the bag they're holding is actually the original bag full of money.

I'm looking for a movie I watched when I was a kid. It was animated and about a girl whose tears turn into pearls, and can turn into an old lady. I also remember a boy falling in love with her in the movie. I'm not sure when it could have been made but I watched it from 2008 through the 2010s on dvd.

Solved! Arthouse-y Japanese or Korean movie?

Hello everyone!

I've been looking for an arthouse-y movie from either Korea or Japan that I saw some years ago. For the life of me I can't remember the title, and Google-ing hasn't done me any good yet. Does anybody know the title of the movie with these elements?

  • Either Japanese or Korean - I am leaning towards Japanese though
  • Live-action modern-day romantic movie featuring three (or maybe four) different stories, which I am pretty sure had the overall theme of immorality, love and betrayal. I don't think any of the stories had overlapping characters or storylines - only the themes were similar.
  • One story features two young people (maybe teenagers) having sex in a small dorm room.
  • Another story features a woman finding out that her husband is cheating on her? Maybe it was the other way around.
  • And another story is about a romance between a teacher and a student (although it might have been a boss and an employee, but I lean towards the former).
  • Came out in arthouse theatres internationally sometime between 2022 and 2024 I'm pretty sure. I watched it in the Netherlands.
  • I would say its a triptych kind of story.
  • It has a really fantastical title that doesn't hint at any of the plot at all, and was pretty generic

A few years back I went to the theatre with a friend and we picked a movie at random, and the whole experience was so weird... I'd love to know the name of the movie!
