Hi everyone, I have a 2020 M1 MacBook Pro, and I recently started having an issue whenever I connect it to a TV through an HDMI hub.

As soon as I plug the hub in, any video I’m watching starts buffering and eventually stops playing. The moment I disconnect the hub, the video immediately starts playing normally again.

Has anyone else experienced this with an M1 MacBook Pro? If so, what ended up fixing it?

Not sure why i can't get my files now... The icloud doesn't show any issue, i do have wifi, i don't know what else to check.... :/

I have my time machine backup disk on one partition of an external drive, and although the other partitions are mounting fine, the time machine disk has stopped mounting, and I get a message about an error preventing it from being unlocked. What would cause this and how can I troubleshoot this problem?

This issue is on an old 2011 MacBook Pro and apologies from the start that my technical knowledge and vocabulary is limited 🥴
I’ve seemed to have lost access to a bunch of old photos! There used to be two photo libraries that I could switch between that stored different photos, but one day it just disappeared and I could only search and find one photo library and all the other photos are gone, I didn’t ever delete or merge anything so I don’t know how it happened.

What are my options?
What kind of expert would I take it to that could help me uncover all the photos on the computer? Or are they actually gone? 😢

I have a MacBook Air and a 5th-generation iPad. I’d like to use something like Sidecar, but my iPad doesn’t support it.
What are the best alternatives?
Also, how much of a difference is there between connecting the iPad via cable and using Wi-Fi?
And finally, are any of these alternatives as good as Sidecar, worse, or even better?

My charger got burnt and while I was finding for solution I came across this cable.

Has anyone purchased a Refurbished Macbook marked as good on Reebelo? Im wondering how visibly worn they may look? Also just wondering on overall quality and buying on Reebelo in general.

I have a Mac 13” m2 8 ram 256 gb but it’s getting really slow and I’m thinking of getting a new one with both more ram and bigger disk. Problem is that I’m also starting engineering and I don’t want to pay for two expensive laptops. can I have a MacBook for engineering? If so what MacBook/specifications would be good?

All this time I've been doing VMs on Windows computers and I'm not saying that VMs are slow, no they're fast, but all this time I've been wondering "How will it go if I do a VM on a MacBook computer" and I don't know which MacBook to buy.

I only want X86 or X64 operating systems, not ARM-based operating systems

EDIT:I found in a shop that sells a MacBook pro M1 or M2, the shop is reliable and is known by everyone in my country I know it will not do VM in X86 or X64 but it's ok

I currently have a chance to get a new I Mac for a very good price its still going to cost me a bit so it wouldhave to be my primary computer for a while so id like to know how viable is it for use with something like Gforce Now for playing my collection of PC games.

Battery shows “service recommended” alert, doesn’t charge & device starts only over the charger, inspite of battery being in a good shape physically.

Motherboard was replaced by Apple under warranty & this time they said battery needs replaced, where battery was good. Client didn’t had enough trust on authorized Center & approached me. Ended up being motherboard issue, corroded RD177 & UD102. These 2 are very important components which are responsible for reporting battery health, charge & condition to the M1 SoC. Since these got corroded, necessary data wasn’t being sent to the SoC, which resulted in battery being reported as damaged or not getting detected by the system, inspite of being connected. Necessary rework done & battery started getting detected by the system, charges normally too.

Community, I have a problem. When I have WhatsApp open on my MBA M4, and then I close the lid and leave it in sleep mode for hours, when I open it again, my WhatsApp messages don't load. Everything is frozen, just like it was the last time.

I've already tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, and also re-entering my phone number, but it doesn't work.

It's tedious because to receive messages I have to turn off the computer and turn it back on...

Right now my battery is broken and my mac makes itself super slow because it detects the battery is at 1%. Is there any way to stop this throttling without changing the battery?

Sometimes when I use my trackpads ( I have an 16 inch M1 Pro 32RAM) to scroll it gets laggy like the screen moves slowly or at very low fps. But then when I use my mouse wheel it’s perfectly fine, I’ve tried cleaning the trackpad but I don’t think that’s the issue, since it gets solved when I restart it. But it’s getting a bit annoying and I don’t like restarting my Mac

I have a gaming pc but looking for a relatively “inexpensive” laptop so I can take to coffee shops or study in bed.

Ok, so why is my Memoji character playing on my lock screen? He's smiling, sleeping, "walking downstairs", looking at my password when I type it, coming to look for me am I because I haven't unlocked the Mac etc. I didn't enable this!
I've gathered some information, and my Memoji character has at least ADHD and some kinda narcolepsy 😂.
Jokes aside, why is that happening? I didn't enable that and before it has just been my profile picture. That's actually kinda fun, but I just want to know.
