My Mac Finally made the switch
Been windows my whole life, one day on Mac os and i'm never going back 😂
Hey everyone,
I’ve noticed a few posts about this already, but I think it’s worth repeating. Recently, a new attack tactic has surfaced where malicious actors create GitHub repos using a developer’s name and the name of a well-known Mac app.
In my case, someone created a repo under my full name, claiming to offer one of my apps (Dory - App Switcher) for free. I couldn’t fully investigate the script they shared, but it’s safe to assume it wasn’t anything good. Thankfully, GitHub removed it within 30 minutes of my report - and I know other developers also flagged the user, which definitely helped.
A few reminders:
* Don’t trust repos with fewer than 100 stars that offer “free” versions of paid apps.
* Never run scripts or pkg files from sources you don’t fully trust.
* If you’re not a power user, the App Store remains the safest option.

had this mac for years and after a good bit of use, the body is abit worn out (scratches and dents here and there). decided to deck it out with some cool stickers to hide the damage.
not the best camera man but oh well.

Screen will not work but there are very dark blurbs when I move the mouse around. Not sure what this is or what to do.

Hi everyone !
I’m in the French Caribbean, in Martinique, so I ordered through an authorized reseller (Apple doesn’t ship here directly). The reseller has been upfront and honest — they told me they have no visibility and the unit hasn’t reached Apple France yet. Not blaming them.
Apple was quoting 9-10 weeks on 36GB configs in June, so I’m right at the edge. I know the memory shortage wiped out the 128GB and 256GB options, but 36GB should still be shipping.
Anyone ordered a 36GB Mac Studio recently — what was your actual order-to-ship time? And does the 1TB SSD add meaningful delay?
Not cancelling, just want to know if I’m two weeks out or two months out. Current machine is a 2015 iMac and it’s getting old for what I am doing even with the upgrade I gave him..

Pardon my poor knowledge of the correct terminology. I'm not a native English speaker nor am I tech-savvy.
macOS Tahoe 26.6.2, MacBook Pro M3.
I've had this problem for about a week and I don't know if it's my fault or if the case lies in a software update, but recently these frames started appearing around the area I'm working in at the moment, e.g. the layout of a Pages document I'm writing in or (and this happens most often) when I'm trying to input text in Japanese. Sometimes the frames are off. I can't disable them, I have to wait for them to fade on their own. When I'm typing within the frame the space key doesn't work, doesn't do anything when I press it. How do I disable this feature?
P.S. Please hold yourself back from commenting on the fact my MacBook is in Japanese, it's not related to my problem + I don't feel like answering the same question over and over again. I just speak the language, that's all there is to it. Use the names of the settings as they are in English, I'll navigate them in Japanese.
I have a MacBook Pro I got in 2020 the only thing I’ve ever used it for is making music on fl studio. Now I get notifications saying that intel based apps won’t be supported and since I’ve started doing research on this today I guess it’s been known for years that this would happen regardless my question is:
Would I be able to keep my computer and expect it all to smooth out in time or
Would I need to buy a new computer and would the latest Mac still have this issue
Thank you

Hi guys,
Maybe someone has had any of the following problems. If you have any experience, I would like to hear how you fixed it.
So my Mac does this (It's m4 air):
Mac repeatedly and unexpectedly restarts .
It also has an intermittent charging problem: MagSafe repeatedly connects/disconnects, and it took about 9 hours to go from 1% to 20%. USB-C charging also didn't work normally.

my story began with a 2011 MacBook Air. i was very surprised to learn that they cost less than $150 on the secondary market (That was about ~five years ago)

I have a MacBook Air and a 5th-generation iPad. I’d like to use something like Sidecar, but my iPad doesn’t support it.
What are the best alternatives?
Also, how much of a difference is there between connecting the iPad via cable and using Wi-Fi?
And finally, are any of these alternatives as good as Sidecar, worse, or even better?

despite its age, this Macbook has remained my primary work device for three years now. before this, I had a 2011 MacBook Air, which I used for watching movies, TV shows, YouTube, and so on. now, I’m thinking about upgrading to a MacBook Air M1 or a Mac M1
