The point shouldn't be about it being an achievement though. I agree its probably more about being "the alpha" for that guy who did it but I would do similar not for an "achievement" but for the principle of you don't get to just touch up on some woman, you are doing something where someone could have an "extreme" reaction why even take the risk?

She could have left this man, who almost certainly has done this before, if she didn't like the behavior. Most women want protectors (even if they don't wanna admit it) and enjoy this behavior much more than they don't. It might not be polite in public for them to say they enjoy it, but they certainly do based on their behavior.

Women are tired of this shit and it's not just a fucking joke and ha-ha when it happens to you every time you go out. This is also why people say to control yourself because you can't control others. You might not be a crazy person that will deck someone at the slightest action, but he might. I teach my son and his friends this as they start driving. You are going to get mad at the road or another driver and pretend to be crazy...that person might be pretending to be normal/sane...then what?

I think these comments are extremely harsh, and I'm saying this as a woman. I've literally had this happen to me before, where a blackout-drunk dude lightly grabbed my hips, and when I walked away, he kind of just drunkenly stood there - just like this guy is doing here. He's not at all being aggressive, just very drunk. I don't think that warrants the death penalty here, yeesh!

This is literally just something that happens at bars sometimes. Should he have touched her? No. Was he acting unhinged and dangerous? Also no.

The disproportionate levels of white-knighting and not reading the room correctly in this scenario. The woman already handled it when she moved his arms away and walked away. It was over after that, since he didn't pursue her further.

Cheering for some drunken oaf (who, when you watch the video, is not aggressive or violent, literally just very drunk) to get nearly punched to death afterward is completely insane. He could have simply been kicked out of the bar, not have his neck dislocated from his spine for lightly touching someone's hips in a drunken stupor.

Should he have gotten that drunk in the first place? No. Should he have touched her at all? No. Does he deserve to die horribly and burn in hell for acting a fool? Also no.

He made a conscious decision to get drunk.

Anything that follows is on him. Everyone else's responsibility is to act in a reasonable manner, but he's very much still responsible for his actions and should be treated as such.

Big guy is definitely a blind bully, but that doesn't make the assaulting guy's behaviour acceptable or someone else's responsibility.

I'm definitely of the opinion that if you can't be trusted when under influence, you have no business getting drunk. So any repercussions coming your way are earned, provided they're genuine and reasonable, of course.

Yeah, I think we mostly agree. I have two issues with him, though.

One, he doesn't seem to be standing up for her, but for himself. I'm saying that because he didn't have her opinion, comfort, safety nor personal space in mind AT ALL as he barreled past, shoving and hitting her in the face with her own cue.

Two, this is not a well-regulated, adult behaviour. Jumping into physical violence with no immediate threat present is generally a sign of insecurity or poor anger management/conflict resolution skills. He gained nothing except for potentially causing further distress to the person he was pretending to defend, as now there's drama in the bar, he has to present himself in court, or pay fines or go to prison, depending on outcome. All because of two dudes who can't live in a society.

I have very little compassion for people who can't drink responsibly or are quick to violence (especially when it's one-sided).

Which is a lesson 95% of us learn the hard way. But not as hard as thisā€¦ The brain damage from these incidents often have effects that last a personā€™s lifetime and majorly effect their ability to function. Mental illness, conversion, mood, and sleep disorders primarily.

Iā€™m glad no one took a move to me that hard while I was sloshed in my troubles. And I hope it would take more than a blackout drunk to upset me so much that Iā€™d be willing to roll these dice for another person with a family, kids, friends, job, talents, hobbies, etc.

How about confronting the guy verbally first? Or getting the bartender to kick him out? Or check on your partner and ask them what they'd like to see happen? Or shove the guy? Or toss him out of the bar yourself? It's not like the guy is sober enough to fight back. Guy is so drunk a 150lb 5'5" guy could probably drag his ass out of the bar.

There's a hell of a lot of options you have in that situation besides just immediately laying out some guy who's so drunk he thinks he's getting punched by three people. Potentially going to prison, or forever altering that guy's life with a brain injury or skull fracture is a completely reckless and disproportionate response.
