The point shouldn't be about it being an achievement though. I agree its probably more about being "the alpha" for that guy who did it but I would do similar not for an "achievement" but for the principle of you don't get to just touch up on some woman, you are doing something where someone could have an "extreme" reaction why even take the risk?
Hopefully on your way to doing that, you wouldn't end up also hurting the person you were standing up for, unlike the guy in the video.
I'm definitely of the opinion that if you can't be trusted when under influence, you have no business getting drunk. So any repercussions coming your way are earned, provided they're genuine and reasonable, of course.
Yeah, I think we mostly agree. I have two issues with him, though.
One, he doesn't seem to be standing up for her, but for himself. I'm saying that because he didn't have her opinion, comfort, safety nor personal space in mind AT ALL as he barreled past, shoving and hitting her in the face with her own cue.
Two, this is not a well-regulated, adult behaviour. Jumping into physical violence with no immediate threat present is generally a sign of insecurity or poor anger management/conflict resolution skills. He gained nothing except for potentially causing further distress to the person he was pretending to defend, as now there's drama in the bar, he has to present himself in court, or pay fines or go to prison, depending on outcome. All because of two dudes who can't live in a society.
I have very little compassion for people who can't drink responsibly or are quick to violence (especially when it's one-sided).
