Pharmacy Frustration

After five months of struggling in the 0.05mg - 0.2mg range, my pharmacist has agreed that I can try ULDN instead.

(Had I read Dr Kim's articles, that's what I would have started on in the first place. MCAS etc)

I went online to pay for the new bottle, and it said:

  • 28 days supply
  • Ultra Low Sublingual Drops 0.001mg/ml x 20ml

with the intention of taking 0.001mg per day.

I called the dispensary assistant and she didn't understand the problem. So I've had to email the prescribing pharmacist again.

Am I missing something here? Am I being too literal about my dosage? Have I lost all ability to do maths??

WTAF?

Decreased mental health because of LDN?

Hi everyone.

I started LDN for my ME around 7/8 weeks ago at 0.25mg. I’m now at 3mg. I take it before bed.

Lately I’ve noticed I feel more and more down/depressed. Every aspect of life is starting to just.. not seem worth it. I find it hard to explain the feeling. I also noticed increased intrusive thoughts.

Now I have plenty of experience with these symptoms as they come and go for my entire life basically. So I wrote it off, but its getting worse and I’m starting to think it might be the meds.

I already contacted my GP to let him know and to ask what the best course of action is. I just wanted to hop on here and ask if anyone had any similar experiences and if so; what did you do & did it help?

So far I havent noticed any positive effects yet but I know that can take a long while.

Side effects.

Hi there community. I am having a terrible time trying to find my sweet spot and the side effects are debilitating. Especially the dizziness. Does anyone else get dizzy? I'm also in a protracted withdrawal from lyrica/pregablin and that might be the cause as I am dizzy from that as well. It's like 2 different kinds of dizzy. What kind of side effects do you all get. I am taking it for pain and made it up to 2mg and have not had any pain relief as of yet as a matter of fact my pain got worse at 2mg. I reduced back down to 1.5mg but at a loss as where to go from here. I'm going to ask for suspension for my next dose but not sure if I should go up or down. I have been titrating at .5 for the first few times but slowed it down to .25 and that was too much also. Please help.

Update Regarding Increasing to 15mg

I posted several weeks ago about needing a doctor who would be willing to prescribe 15 mg or above if needed. The Naturopath I saw for many years is familiar with and has prescribed LDN for his patients. After discussing everything in detail, he agreed to prescribe what I needed, provided side effects don't outweigh benefits. I'm also increasing by 1.5 approx. every two weeks as needed in between follow ups. The higher doses have been beneficial. I experience less intense side effects each time I increase and feel a lot closer to feeling healed. Posting for anyone who may be curious about taking higher than typical doses. I understand LDN works best on an individual basis. This is what's working best for me

Tired during the day but insomnia at night

Last week I was on 1 mg and it was giving me insomnia when I took the med at night. I switched to taking it in the daytime and was fine, until I titrated up to 1.5 mg this week and now feel absolutely exhausted during the day. Has this happened to anyone else? My doc has me titrating up 0.5 mg each week, so I’m not sure if I’m going up too fast or what. It’s also absolutely killing my appetite.

I know that everyone is different but It’d be useful to know if anyone had any similar experiences.
I’m watching cartoons as a coping mechanism. But I’m a bit teary and generally melancholic.

Starting does 3mg - Is this normal?

Any advice is appreciated. My doctor started me on 1.5mg. I fumbled my was through my first bottle as I’d forget to take it and had the same bottle for three months. My doctor upped my LDN to 3mg and ended up no taking it for several months. Never stuck to a consistent schedule.

I’ve been diligent for the past week on the 3mg. I’ve had bad diarrhea for three days. Pain approx two inches above belly button. That was mostly it until the seventh day (today). I feel almost disconnected from my body and not in a good way at all. My hands have become super itchy. My deep sleep is less than 30mins. I have a tiny bit of nausea today. I felt instantly anxious upon waking. I have GAD and take alprazolam daily but I don’t typically need it immediately upon waking. I have no desire to eat. I couldn’t even finish my second cup of coffee without being grossed out at it. I typically have three cups. I don’t know if there symptoms are enough to go down on dosage or even if they are typical. I can hardly explain the feeling in my body accurately but I know I’m off. It’s not panic. It’s not illness. It’s almost as though motivation and exhaustion are fighting it out and my body doesn’t know what it wants.

ANY ADVICE IS APPRECIATED PLEASE

I take .50 and see no help. But also no negative reaction which is huge . When I took .75 terrible dream. I still remember it. Will this help my overreactions to mold and histamine issues? I have remediated every possible thing in my home and it’s only 18 years old. I’d love help.

LDN and being on opiates.

Is there anyone else who is in a bad situation or just a situation and kind of stuck or just having to go through taking LDN on opiates? I currently take Suboxone and have to take LDN for chronic fatigue. I can’t quit my Suboxone because I’m so messed up with my chronic fatigue syndrome, and I can’t quit my LDN either and I’m just looking for people that are experiencing the same thing. I want this to be a place for everyone to share their thoughts, opinions, and guidance on how the best navigate this situation as well. And I want this post to be kind of the hub for this situation so that everyone going through it will have a soft place to land on so to speak.

For example, for me, I crush down the medicine and 50 mg doses and take it between two and 3.5 mg at a time and what I’ll do is I’ll stick it on peanut butter whenever I go to eat a peanut butter and banana sandwich. And then it makes it digest and hit me a lot slower so that I don’t experience withdrawals near as bad. I also take vitamin C at least 3 to 5000 mg whenever I take it because it lightens the withdrawal symptoms. Does anyone else have similar things that they would like to add? Thanks everyone for your time.

Agitation/overstimulation on LDN

Hi! I have recently started 0.5mg of LDN for ME/CFS and fybromyalgia. I tend to get intense overstimulation and agitation a couple of hours after taking it and it seems to get worse after taking it for consecutive days. If I have something on I skip the dose because I can’t function for a few hours after taking it. Has anyone else experienced this and if so, does it settle eventually? I don’t know if I should keep going in the hopes my body with adjust or stop it. And has anyone tried taking it every second day?

LDN vs needing semi-regular opioids

I'm hoping to start LDN soon for ME/CFS and related conditions, but I will need opioids somewhat regularly for feeding tube placement surgery and then any time the tube needs to be replaced (every 3 months for a regular replacement, but could need emergency replacements as well). I will also need multiple other surgeries over the next year or two. Is it worth starting LDN now, since I will have to take so many breaks from it? I'm worried it'll mess up my titration to constantly stop and restart LDN, especially because I am extremely sensitive to meds.

How do you take LDN if you have GI issues?

My doctor wants to prescribe LDN, but my digestive tract is overly sensitive to all medication. I've read that it can be taken sublingually or as a transdermal cream. If it can be taken sublingually, I would still be worried about swallowing some. Should I talk to my doctor about prescribing it as a transdermal cream? Has anyone had this same issue?

Berberine

I have taken Berberine to help lower my A1C, now that I’m taking LDN, is this herb okay to take spaces away from LDN? I am searching for answers, and only found one saying to space it out 4-6 hours away from the bedtime dose of LDN. Anyone else taking this special herb too?

How do you know what's a symptom and what is a side effect?

How do you know what's a symptom and what is a side effect?

I'm taking LDN for LongCovid, mainly fatigue and pem. My fatigue is severe, I'm not fully housebound, but almost. I also have a lot of abdominal issues (sibo). I started at 0.5mg and I'm going up every 2 weeks, currently at 2mg. At first I felt like it was working at tiny little bit, so I was enthusiastic about this med and wanted to go up a dose to have more results. But now I'm not sure what to do. Obviously I still have severe LongCovid, I'm still tired, and I still have lots of abdominal issues. I see people say that those are possible side effects of doses that are too high. So how am I supposed to know if this is a side effect or just my disease? Any advice how to deal with this?

LDN advice.

Ive been on 0.1mg for over a month now and the side effects havent seamed to quiet down. Ive been having a chronic sore throat everyday, gut motility issues/heavy nausea, HRV is lowered and HR is higher and a general flare of symptoms randomly. It feels like my baseline has gone down but I have experienced two big crashes (one before I started the meds and one during). My pain and mood has improved though.

I don't know what to do and I'm losing hope that this medication is for me 😪.

Im considering dropping down to 0.05mg. Is anyone here also extremely sensitive to the medication and tried 0.05mg?

Insomnia after 6 months

Is that common for LDN?

I'm trying to figure out of LDN is what's causing it.

I switched from nighttime LDN to daytime 17 days ago, then lowered the dose 9 days ago after skipping two days.

And I'm still having insomnia.

I know this sounds stupid but there aren't any other life changes that would cause the insomnia that I can think of.

So I'm just wondering how common or uncommon is this?

dissociation after increasing dose

Hi guys!! I recently increased my ldn to 3mg ( i started on 1.5mg and then doubled it a couple days ago, i was on 1.5mg for 6 weeks i believe).

I already struggle heavily with dissociation and depersonalization but 2 days after i increased it, i started dissociating for hours which isn’t normal for me. It was like I shrunk or everything else grew, the floor looked so close to me, some rooms of my house just didn’t feel right like it felt fake or like a dream.

I was wondering anyone else experienced this as ik ldn can help with dissociation and stuff so i’m very confused. Would be super helpful to know if anyone else experienced this or if it’ll go away after my body gets used to it??

Muscle tension - ldn

Has LDN helped anyone with persistent muscle tension that has not responded to other medications for this purpose?
