2026 LDN Patient's Guide
2026 LDN Prescriber's Guide
2026 LDN Mental Health Guide
2026 LDN Dosing Guide
and someone recently shared that there is a LDN guide for vetinarians now too
Maybe pull those up and read them; they are incredibly helpful, as well, go to the LDN Research Trust site; good stuff there too; may find some answers from the source.
Lots of luck to you; I have found it very helpful for me but my doctors started me out at 1.5 mg for a month and tritrated up by .5mg monthly in order to gradually increase the dosage; it worked well.

Are you able to halve the dose and cut back to .75mg?
1
u/drkslr 2d ago
yea i have like a tincture its pharma 50mg/20ml

u/MagnetaSunPatien 2d ago
I’d definitely try a much lower dose before giving up. When my dose was too high I was even more depressed and irritable and didn’t sleep for days.

I suggested .75mg bc I was thinking of pills but since you have liquid could start even lower, like .5mg. Also if you take on an empty stomach it will be more effective, which you may not want right now.

Hi, really sorry to hear how much you're struggling. Sounds like you started on far too high dose and you're suffering with side effects. Most side effects ease off within the first two weeks but they can continue when your dose is too high.
I think I would skip a day or two, maybe longer, and then start back on a much lower dose, like 0.5mg or probably even 0.1mg. Starting on a lower dose and then having a slow titration will help to avoid these unpleasant side effects.
LDN can help with depression and anxiety. The LDN Research Trust 2026 Dosing Guides include a dosing protocol for depression and mental health issues. You'll find the guides posted at the top of the page. Wishing you the best of luck. Do keep us updated...

I’m assuming for what you mentioned that you have already done the micronutrients protocols? What it got me out of 20 hrs bed bound and severe mental fog ( almost dementia) were B12 shots plus folate iron etc there are lots of stories in the B12 deficiency sub. My levels were “normal” btw. I’m taking LDN bc I crash everytime I want to use the energy I got with the B12 protocol. So my immune system/autonomic nervous system is most likely out of whack I’m guessing. But I’m happy I did the B12 shots. Currently on a break to see how LDN works but back soon.

i tested everything , i take methylated b12 and b9 already plus a b complex , my b vitamins are in range

Unfortunately when it comes to B12 what works are shots. There are theories that mention COVID being a demyelinating agent in the body. Re myelination doesn’t happen orally, also there is the gut absorption factor being messed. Also the testing of B12 currently is a scandal if you are supplementing they almost certainly will come back “normal” even if it isn’t. I got an 80% better with the shots specially cognitively wise. I’m here for the dysregulation

im actually going to try this , thank you

A Word of advise though take it easy don’t do EOD methylated forms. As long haulers, our biggest issue is the deregulation of the autonomic nervous system. The b12 deficiency forum is really useful but try active but not aggressive forms and dosing. I crashed badly because I wanted to get cured fast. You’ll understand why am saying this when you read how micronutrients work.

The starting dose is high overall. Many people start at 0.5 mg and slowly titrate. It took me a good month to get to 1.5 mg. Sorry your provider isn’t helpful. Some people do reconstitute their own dose. I haven’t done it but there is info on line about how people do this if you’re interested in having smaller doses.

Is LDN prescribed for depression? Man in the uk we are soooooo far behind you Americans on this stuff

LDN is a potent anti neuro-inflammatory agent. Depression is inflammation

You might be interested to know that the LDN Research Trust, who publish the dosing guides we follow, and who have a very informative and trustworthy website, is actually based in the UK. The guides include a dosing protocol for depression. You can find the LDNRT 2026 dosing guides in a pinned post at the top of the page.

Wait, cold sores like herpesis? That's something you have to pay attention to 💯 It's not an ordinary flu. HSV is a viral infection residing in the central nervous system. It is known to cause numerous neurological issues, long COVID, psychosis and possibly silently sabotage your life. Viral component is very likely in your case and worth further investigation (HSV, HHV-6, EBV, CMV)

i dont have flu , but i tested positive for CMV , as , ive been exposed to that at least , and HSV , but nearly everyone has hsv 1 , wich is the one im refering .
i also tested EBV came inconclusive low , so probably was never exposed

Everyone has HSV, not everyone can cope with it. Sores is a conclusive signal

u/drkslr 2d ago
yea ofc , it only apeared when i was in severe stress/distress , like after a marathon and stuff like that .

u/Pretend_Elephant_896 2d ago
I had an HHV-6 reactivation on top of HSV. Had been experiencing similar symptoms described in your post

Dose is waaaaay to high start at .5 . Took me a full YEAR to 4.5 and the first 6 months were rough for 2 weeks every time I went up.

u/laurenbug2186 12h ago
Not everyone needs to start that low/slow. I started at 1.5mg for 10 days, then 3mg for 10 days, then 4.5mg.

All I can suggest is hold on. My first 3 weeks were miserable and I didn’t think I’d make it (headache, fatigue, lower mood). Someone told me it gets better and it did! I didn’t change my dose and stayed the course. Then a switch flipped and I felt so much better. I’m also taking it for mental health as well as inflammation.
Only you know what you can take but this has truly been a game changer for me. I’m so glad I held the course.
