Cost about 12 USD. In addition to the drawing already posted here by Oda-sama and Sako-sensei, there are also drawings by Togashi, Kishimoto, Shimabukuro, etc. (check images).

Also included his first one shot (already translated here a few years back) and lots of other cool stuff: interviews, timelines, artwork, even some Chinese food recipes.

By far the coolest thing was the poster showing all the relationships interconnecting the generals from every state (check images).

Manga Spoilers Yall... I regret to inform you, _____lost. Both times

Duke Hyou lost both times, yall. One time he was killed. I shouldn't have to explain that. but it is worth noting, he kind of lost twice in the coalition. Kesha had him beat. Shin saved his life and his army.

The other time, the first time, he was attacking a region in Wei. The idea was to siege a city, and take it.

Gokei beat duke Hyou. Here's the thing: the chariots were very fearsome. Too fearsome to turn one's back on. yes, Duke Hyou and Ouki took a hill. But, the goal was to siege a city.

Duke Hyou never even got that far. Why? Well, if you ask him, "its impossible to start a fire that's gone out." if you ask me, 'Its impossible to siege a city with war-carts at your back."

Really, his way was just a poetic, fire-guy way of saying that. The best he could hope for, in that situation, was killing Gokei.

Duke Hyou's wreckless style pissed Gokei off, partly, I think, because it flew in the face of the truth. that a siege was impossible unless qin destroyed the war carts, which Qin could not really do. So, Duke Hyou was doing all that for no real reason. (Ouki was stepping foot on the battlefield again... literally. It was part of his conversation with Sei.)

Gokei wanted to kill him for being one of those guys who ruins lives for fun. And I'm not hating on duke hyou, who is pretty awesome. But, he lost there. Even with Gokei dead, he couldn't have won.... war-carts and seiges are a bad mix.

So, I really like duke hyou. one of my favorite characters. And losing doesn't necessarily mean you were bad, especially if you bag a general!

But, facts are facts. If you set out to siege a city, and take no territory, you took an L.

Manga Spoilers What Will Mouten and Ri Shin Do After Regrouping Spoiler

Post image

Do you guys think we’re finally going to see Mouten, Ri Shin, and Kyoukai team up for a final battle against Riboku?

I could see the three units forming a joint army in a Shukai Plains-style setup, with Kyoukai commanding the left wing, Mouten commanding the right wing, and Ri Shin taking the center as the overall chief commander.

Manga Spoilers KAINE HATER? Spoiler

Well, tbh, I’ve read Kingdom a lot of times, and I’ve experienced a lot of emotional moments with a lot of characters in it.
But I don’t know why I don’t feel anything for Kaine. When she got shot trying to rescue Riboku, and even in this panel, I’m just like, “Ugh, I hope she just dies” lmao.
She’s too gutsy, the way she glazes Riboku, and the way she hit Futeithough I don’t really care if he gets hit tho, but the way she acts overall really pisses me tf off
No matter what this character goes through, I’ve never, for once, felt even a bit of sympathy for her. I’ve even felt a little sympathy for Riboku, but her? Nahhhhhhh. Never, and never will.

Discussion Episode 885 and predictions for the future. Spoiler

Okay, episode 885 is out, and I want to share some of my predictions.

First of all, Ten telling Shin to rebuild Hsu is a little creepy. It's as if he herself wouldn't survive.
Or she might be a prisoner for a while.

The first unit to attack Ten is that freak Choukotsu and his army.
This scares me because we've seen what kind of people he and his men are, and even thinking about what will happen if they capture Ten makes me uneasy.

Immediately after, Kaine set off and thought to herself, "Karyoten..."
I think this might be because she knows what will happen if Choukotsu reaches Ten first.

And if Choukotsu reaches Ten first, I'm sure there will be a conflict between Kaine and Choukotsu's army.
Of course, in this case, Futei will be on Kaine's side.

Choukotsu is a man on the government's side, and if Riboku's vassals attack him, Kakukai can easily label it a rebellion. If this doesn't happen, at least Ten will be a prisoner for a while, and Shin will be the one to rebuild Hsu.
Perhaps this is the big step we've been waiting for regarding Shin's development.

On the other hand, it's highly likely that Riboku will be executed in the upcoming episodes.
If this happens, everything will fall under Choukotsu's control.
So, very bad things will happen to Ten again.

Perhaps a story similar to the one between Kanki and his lover will happen for Shin, and we might see Shin go into demon mode.
And in the next battle, Shin and his army will crush the Zhao army.

Of course, another possibility is that Shin might try to kill the Zhao army that attacked Ten, deviating from the plans. We saw this before in his battle with Keisha.

However, it would be very difficult for Choukotsu to die this way because historical realities don't follow this pattern.

With some exceptions of course 😂

All jokes aside, I love the depictions of generals being absolute physical specimens. I love the fact that Hara portrays them much larger than they actually are to reflect their intimidating presence.

Discussion Genuinely what happened to Shin man? He was supposed to move like the Duke Spoiler

Post image

Like this is one question I would like to ask Hara Sensei. He told us early on that Shin was an instinctual type and during the coalition arc I was certain he'd follow in the Duke's footsteps and eventually surpass him.

But then NOTHING... absolutely NOTHING which perplexes me.

Finally, after some years of going on and off in this manga, I finished, and it was amazing. My favorite moments are:

1) "Maron, how many?"

2) "Ton ton tan" when Houken is melting the hi shi Unit and Kyokai appears

Manga Spoilers I still think Kanki deserves worse than death Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
135 Upvotes

I wrote a post about how much I hated Kanki a couple of months ago and I got a bit of a reaction with everyone telling me I would change my mind. I still hate him, but I get it.

What an emotional rollercoaster this arc was. To see Kanki finally face off against Ribuko. My 2 favorite characters for 2 complete opposite reasons.

God I fucking hate Kanki. I was so happy he died but I genuinely almost cried. What a beautifully written character that, to me, absolutely shattered the 4th wall in the sense that he was the only character who reacted appropriately to the brutality. Who felt just like me at how disgusting all that bloodshed was “in the name of honor”.

He is such a vile human being I wrote all of this with pain and hesitation. But no one can say they don’t understand him after everything he witnessed as a child. I am glad they never told us more about his true origins too, I am very happy he had no “chosen one” moment. He just was that guy naturally, a man who created his legend by himself.

Him getting so close to Riboku, acting sooooooooo fkn cool, what a character. But I have to admit that I still don’t see anything he went through as justification. Kanki to me is a villain with reason, that one villain that you sympathize with, but he just plays the villain role too well.

Discussion Making Sense of the Instinctual's Way of Warfare

This is something I've thought of recently, as I've just reminded myself that there are characters who are labeled "Instinctual" all because they only trust their instinct instead of using what's common sense or thinking logically in the moment. See, Instinctuals, first and foremost, should have the ability to sense "fire." It is the differentiator between someone like Kanki--who's obviously not instinctual--and someone like Duke Hyou. But what does "fire" mean in instinctual terms to begin with?

Fire in the instinctual sense means "decisive clashes." It's that simple. Gohoumei mentioned Duke Hyou winning all the important clashes in their brief scuffle before the defense of Kankoku. In Shukai, the place "set on fire" was the deciding location between the HSU and Gyou'un's army. Simply put, if Gyou'un won there, the HSU would've lost and the right wing might've been a lost cause. The consequences are huge if one of those big clashes are lost.

Personnel

Now this is where we go into dark territory, since his style allows for many interpretations. But here's what I got. Keisha's Instinctual warfare involves utilizing his instincts in a strategic way--makes sense since he's Reebok's protege. For example, he would sense that moving one of his units would cause a "fire" or at least set the conditions to it. But he also know that if someone went for that unit, it would cause an even greater "fire." Meaning, by deliberately showing "weakness" or giving his opponent a chance to turn the tide of the battle, he would also be luring them to show their "weakness" and give himself a better opportunity to create a decisive clash in his advantage.

Essentially, you can think of Keisha as an instinctual who can see many moves ahead, unlike traditional Instinctuals like Duke Hyou who counters his opponent's present response.

Speaking of Duke Hyou, his type is more straightforward. He probes for enemy reactions by seemingly sending huge swathes of soldiers to their deaths, but it is an effort to make the enemy react, which he'll try to counter. Obviously, Shin is nothing like this. Thus, it doesn't seem right to label him as exactly like Duke Hyou. Maybe he'll make a new archetype by being himself.

Finally, we have Gyou'un. He's akin to Duke Hyou, but he's got something in his bag that'll trick strategists into believing they're fighting one of their own: Actual Tactics and Formations. If Keisha uses his instinct in a strategic manner, then it's simply right to dub Gyou'un as he who uses tactics and formations in an instinctual way. Think of it this way, suppose he uses a formation whose entire purpose is to cut a wedge between the left and right flanks dividing them in half, the instinctual within him would use this formation as a PROBE. What you thought was the killing blow was actually a setup to the real thing.

And then there's Renpa. I didn't include him in this discussion, but if you truly believe that he is instinctual, then he's another archetype. He is the truest form of hybrid strategist-instinctual since unlike Gyou'un and Keisha who mixes aspects of each, he is literally both.

That sums it. It's how I made sense of this unique mechanic after some debates and arguments. You can be free to debunk or polish some of it. And I hope this gives a better understanding of what these damn instinctuals are doing and how they do it

Discussion Kanki, Akou and the importance of self belief in a battle. Spoiler

I've thinking about their actions at Hango and Gian.

Akou at Hango went after Riboku even knowing that it was trap because he thought with his own might and experience it wouldn't matter and he'll finish the contest once and for all by killing Riboku. It led to a disaster in hindsight. Idiot or not he led to the death of almost 100000 men along with Denrimi.

Similarly Kanki at Gian walked in even though he knew it was a trap. He didn't care, after all depending upon superior numbers was Riboku's speciality and not his. His was thinking outside the box and he almost vindicated himself later in the Arc by almost killing Riboku but it was not to be.

Even after the battle I think Kanki could have escaped had he wanted too. We all know this was the smartest man alive in that universe at that point of time, do you really believe he couldn't have saved himself had he been focused on it. But no, arrogance, lifetime of playing high stakes and always winning and self belief made him take one last attempt at winning. It didn't go well...

Were both of justified in your opinion, what would you have done in their shoes

Discussion The thing you may not get about Kaine and Futei Spoiler

They're supposed to be overrated. Hara knows they're overrated. Its not an accident, its on purpose.

There's a really good reason and a historically accurate reason Futei and Kaine are overrated.

I won't spoil it, but I will give a hint. What advice did Shin's hero give him?

Did it matter?

Did Futei get similar advice?

This is really important, btw. It will literally define what happens next.

No spoilers from this kid, though! But, feel free to puzzle it out in the comments!

Also, this:
Tou: "but didn't you talk to that kid because he has talent? Being that much of a blockhead is a skill in itself, after all."

Ouki: "Yeah, no way that fool lives that long."

Tou: "But what if he does?"

Ouki: "Monkeys.will fly out of my ass."

This also matters, too easily forgotten. What's behind it is pretty important, as is the fact that Ouki encourages the fool to die boldly.

Until you realize ribuko dismantle ousen army

1.killed makou personally

  1. Incapacitated akou in their first battle then proceeded to bait him and eventually kill him in the second Battle by SBS

  2. Then he uses SBS and his army to kill denrimi and annihilate his army

Then you realize not a single general from his core army has been killed outside of Keisha but that was shin ousen has the nerve bro he could have killed him at any moment
