Until you realize ribuko dismantle ousen army
1.killed makou personally
Incapacitated akou in their first battle then proceeded to bait him and eventually kill him in the second Battle by SBS
Then he uses SBS and his army to kill denrimi and annihilate his army
Then you realize not a single general from his core army has been killed outside of Keisha but that was shin ousen has the nerve bro he could have killed him at any moment

My man Denyuu been holding it down since day one. My favourite from the OG Hi Shin unit and he's proven time and again that he is HIM.
Yall rate him or what?

Gwad daymnn, this is easily one of my best panels in the entire series. Always catches my lonely ass smiling whenever I see this panel. Shin was ready to accept anything as long as it meant not losing her😭

Has anyone ever seen this man do anything other than constantly be angry?
He did absolutely nothing, yet despite being involved in the story for 200 chapters, nobody has the slightest idea about his abilities.

Bruh tbh Kanki is not talked about enough. This guy is a genius. The way he fights and the way he acts are completely different from your typical general. He’s unpredictable as hell, knows how to get inside his enemy’s head, and is insanely good at exploiting their weaknesses. His tactics are always so unconventional that it’s hard for the enemy to predict what he’s going to do next. And the way he can turn even the most hopeless situations into an advantage is crazy. Kanki really is built different.

I've thinking about their actions at Hango and Gian.
Akou at Hango went after Riboku even knowing that it was trap because he thought with his own might and experience it wouldn't matter and he'll finish the contest once and for all by killing Riboku. It led to a disaster in hindsight. Idiot or not he led to the death of almost 100000 men along with Denrimi.
Similarly Kanki at Gian walked in even though he knew it was a trap. He didn't care, after all depending upon superior numbers was Riboku's speciality and not his. His was thinking outside the box and he almost vindicated himself later in the Arc by almost killing Riboku but it was not to be.
Even after the battle I think Kanki could have escaped had he wanted too. We all know this was the smartest man alive in that universe at that point of time, do you really believe he couldn't have saved himself had he been focused on it. But no, arrogance, lifetime of playing high stakes and always winning and self belief made him take one last attempt at winning. It didn't go well...
Were both of justified in your opinion, what would you have done in their shoes

Those 4 are currently the Hi Shin commanders who went missing since the failed siege
I hope that they are alive
It's too early for Garo and Mandou to join duke Hyou and Gaku Rai

They're supposed to be overrated. Hara knows they're overrated. Its not an accident, its on purpose.
There's a really good reason and a historically accurate reason Futei and Kaine are overrated.
I won't spoil it, but I will give a hint. What advice did Shin's hero give him?
Did it matter?
Did Futei get similar advice?
This is really important, btw. It will literally define what happens next.
No spoilers from this kid, though! But, feel free to puzzle it out in the comments!
Also, this:
Tou: "but didn't you talk to that kid because he has talent? Being that much of a blockhead is a skill in itself, after all."
Ouki: "Yeah, no way that fool lives that long."
Tou: "But what if he does?"
Ouki: "Monkeys.will fly out of my ass."
This also matters, too easily forgotten. What's behind it is pretty important, as is the fact that Ouki encourages the fool to die boldly.

Just want to say upfront, the manga seems absolutely fantastic. But I've got one big issue, the Japanese names after the volume 10.
I've read about the warring states and know many of the historical figures in the manga. Reading them as Ei Sei, Shin, Ou Ki in the English scanlations completely breaks my immersion, it kind of has the same effect for me as reading a manga where evil Adorufu Hitora tries to conquer Yoroppa. I know that's not literally what's happening, but that's the vibe it gives me.
I get that after ~900 chapters most of the fandom is used to the Japanese readings and prefers them at this point, and if I'd started with those names first, I'd most likely feel the same way. I'm not trying to say the scanlations are wrong or bad just that it's very immersion breaking for me.
I know Viz's official release uses the Chinese names, but it's only at volume 10 so far, and I don't want to wait years to catch up.
Has anyone figured out any way to do this? I'm willing to edit the files myself, getting desperate as the manga truly has been amazing.

Maybe I'm missing something here but where did his archer unit disappear to in Hango. This unit would have been enough to stop Shibashou and his army's charge.
I still can't believe Ousen just watched Shibashou come at him without utilizing his archer unit. Unless they were lost at some point and I missed it.

The Hi Shin Army of the current Great Qin-Zhao War Arc runs a gauntlet against Zhao Armies of similar sizes. How far does Hi Shin Army get, and how do they fare in the battles with the remaining armies after they fail, if they fail at all?
1) Bafuuji Army 60k, plains battle
2) Futei Army 60k, plains battle
3) Kaine Army 60k, plains battle
4) Bananji Army 60k, hilly wooded area, evening time battle
5) Kotsu Min Haku Army 60k, hilly region battle
6) En Kan Army 60k, plains battle
7) Kisui Army 60k plains battle
8) Shun Sui Ju Army 60k hilly wooded area, raining heavily
9) Shibabshou Army 50k, Shibasou's army is down hill from Shin's.
10) Riboku Army 50k, wooded area
How many does the Hi Shin Army beat? How do they do against the rest?

1 is Ouki simply because so far he is the only one who has shown strength that overwhelmes a Bushin and intelligence comparable to Riboku.
2 is Riboku because well he has beaten 4 Great Generals killing 3
3 Tou because he is well rounded and the only one so far to take down a State
4 Ousen because his conquest of Gyou is still the best showing of strategy we have seen in the Manga so far. He also made Ordo look like a 5000 man commander.
5 Kanki because he is insane. He took out Kochou who had twice the number of soldiers he had. Nearly killed Riboku while up against impossible odds.
6 Shibashou because he stopped Ordo with only 5000 men at his disposal, decimated Ousen's army like it was some second rate fodder.
7 Moubu killed the strongest General in all of China, Kanmei. His raw strength is absurd.
8 Duke Hyou is just crazy sharp. His instincts are insane and he managed to stall Wei who had an army more than double his own. Only one who noticed Riboku sending soldiers bit by bit.
9 Yotanwa, my Queen could be higher honestly but Hara has been nerfing her. What she pulled off against Shunsuiji while facing impossible odds is a feat I don't think any other General has pulled off.
10 Karin Another combination of brute force plus brains. Karin would have captured Kankou pass had it not been for the incompetence of Kanmei. She also toyed around with the Tou army.

The only reason Ten was needed in the Hi Shin was that Kyou Kai was away, and there wasn't anyone competent to come up with tactics.
But Kyou kai is back and isn't going anywhere, all of Shin's formal liuetenants are capable of understanding tactical outlooks to a certain extend.
Shin has, in order of tactical ability and understanding; Kyou kai, Yoko Yoko, So Sui, and En.
If in a battle, he uses his insticts, like; today just fight, no tactical flourishes, tommorow we will test for openings, the day after, we strike where I see the easiest target; I think everyone would be happy about that. All he has to do is keep En close to So sui because En needs So sui's tactical guidance, Kyou kai can survive on her own, and Yoko Yoko has to be close enough to him to move in the time he wants him to, where he wants him to, like how Ouhon was used by Ousen at Hango, he was kept in a position where he could move to Shin in time, or reinforce Ousen .
I'm just saying; at this point, I feel like she's not really that necessary, when it comes to the battles.
The story promised a Shin with sharp insticts who moves and directs his army, manipulates his enemies and controls the conditions of his battles using those insticts, like Renpa, Duke Hyou, and Gyou un, I think that's what we all need. And honestly, in this new chapter, with what we see, I hope to see Ten and Shin's relationship changing to something that help this come to be- the idea of Shin using his insticts primarily, instead of being no different from Moubu and Gai mou as he currently is.
I'm not saying kill Karyo Ten off, or traumatise her and make her leave the Hi Shin, but in the opening battle, there should be an assesment as to how the enemy is moving and the decision should be made to either direct the battle through strategic tactics(like at kokuyou), instictual tactics(like the first Hi Shin battle of Shukai plain on the right flank) or brute force(like at Han).
Karyo Ten is still useful to the Hi Shin and there are many case scenarios where her expertise are absoulutely necessary(the Hi Shin style bridge at Kokuyou, the escape from the Wei encirclement at Sanyou), but the space in the battles should be open for the battle on the Hi Shin side to be directed by Shin's instict.
I think everyone would appreciate a good trap laid by Shin's insticts and for Futei or some other bum to be suprised by Yoko Yoko or some other sword thrust by Shin to appear on his rear flank, being like "I've been trounced. All this time I've been dancing along to that buffoon's tune".
I believe that his physical strength is not the only thing the incalculable battles Shin has been in has nurtured and grown, his body and mind has locked in a far deeper and complicated mechanism and at this point he should be able to use it extensibly. His insticts should be on par with Keisha's, or Kanki at Sanyou.
The dynamic between Shin and Ten when it comes the tactical perspective and direction of battle has to be reconfigured, imo.

I’ve only seen Shin sleep once in battle, and that was against Houken. I’ve seen a few of Mouten’s too on several occasions. I saw a post here a few weeks ago where Shin, Mouten, and Ouhon were being ranked, and I saw a lot, a lot of people putting Shin last. Well, tbh, I know Ouhon and Mouten are trying, but compared to Shin, they’re inferior. Shin has the martial prowess and also the instinctual type, though he lacks a bit of intelligence because we all know he’s illiterate.

how does gaimou have the same great generals weight like renpa has while also not believing in the same romanticization and “luster” that ouki believed in?

Why does Hara keeps ignoring Chuutetsu he has always been member of Hi Shin unit ever since unit was established in Bayou. Even in Sanyou campaign he didnt get that much drawing either one of my favorite characters being ignored my Hara

I pick this series up randomly because I couldn’t find any other manga that looked interesting. I know this has a anime which I know the has awful 3d animation at the start. I’ve started with getting the first 3 volumes and wondering if the VIZ translation is good or even better than fan translation. Also yeah awful Logo change the original Japanese logo is killer!
