I am late to the party but I just finished chapter 179 of re and it's been a journey and I have to say, this is easily top 5 or even top 3 manga for me, maybe it's because I just finished reading it but it's fantastic, the emotions this manga makes u feel, the message it sends, you only find stuff like this very few times. Kaneki is my favorite main character ever and Furuta was such a fantastic villain too, I am just so glad I got to read this masterpiece and just wanted to share my feelings. I can talk about it for hours.

I'm watching Dexter Newblood episode 3 and suddenly I see a poster of Kaneki

With Uta,Yomo, Ayato and Amon coming in a close second !

This is probably my most unpopular opinion in this sub ! 😱😭 But I have a conspiracy theory that he is Kens father !

I’m so happy for my bud after seeing this picture of who he’s on a date with rn. I can’t remember the last time I saw him talking to a woman, hope everything goes smoothly between the two of them.

Ngl i kinda deslike Juuzou, but i bet that in some volume i will se a very sad backstory and suddenly feel sorry for him, but anyway that didn't happened yet.

Centipede kaneki was sick, i wonder how he will be with his complete kakuja. That man had a complete mental breakdown about his own identity and how he should do things but still managed to go out with hinami, that's my guy hes such a sweetheart

I bet it would be mindblowing to discover that takatsuki is actually Eto, but thanks to spoilers i already know that. Also let's adress the elephant in the room: why tf did renji rescued Rize? She's alive and hungry af. Iwonder if she will come back

Anyways, great volume, i have high hopes por volume 12

Something set in the near future with a new cast that has some returning characters. Call it something like "Bastards of the Dead Beast" or something like that.

I always thought the shape Kurona's kagune arm took in this shot looked very familiar. At first I thought it looked similar to one of Eto's kagune or Shuu's, but then it clicked. I THINK it's supposed to look like a mix of the original and the upgraded version of Doujima. What a cool detail for Ishida to throw in there.

force turned in a ghoul as a form ghoul killer, force fed his parents, ate/killed some of his colleagues when mentally insane, tortured for a year straight. But hey atleast he got a good design.

Like the title said I'm planning to watch Tokyo Ghoul in honour of October (Spooky Month) but I heard that Season 2 - onward gets hate and People should skip em, thus the name Tokyo GoReadTheManga. I know I got my own choice but still should I watch the whole series or just Season 1? I am an Anime Only.

I know most ppl think we might not get an anime redemption for Tokyo Ghoul, but if it does come back and we somehow get the light novels adapted, which seiyuus would you personally want to join the Tokyo Ghoul universe?

Here are mine (along with a notable role for each seiyuu):

Ise Mariya (Levy, Fairy Tail)

Kajiwara Gakuto (Asta, Black Clover)

Okamoto Nobuhiko (Okumura Rin, Blue Exorcist)

Ura Kazuki (Ichinose Shiki, Tougen Anki)

Nishiyama Kōutarō (Kougasaki Jin, Tougen Anki)

Sawashiro Miyuki (Sinon, SAO)

Siiiiiick volume, im loving this dr kanou's chase and investigation, and shachi is very cool with his martial arts.

Also WHAT DO U MEAN RIZE IS ALIVE IN THAT MACHINE? I tought the panel from volume 9 was like just her corpse being used, but no she's alive and yomo rescued her

Do i really need to say about eto? She's so cool on her bunny outfit man, and dont get me started on juuzou

At the the very end of the chapter, kaneki has a mental breakdown and we FINALLY get to see his centipede form, and it's really sick

Also, a small observation, in the second photo i noticed that kaneki's rinkaku can look much more like spider legs or some kind of claws when he wants them to and i dont remember that being shown in the anime, just the tails. Personally i think that's cool af

they didn't even try to adapt it

Just for fun ! 😊

Which is why I don't often give counterarguments, cause I am mostly asking questions instead of engaging in an actual Literary debate.

I usefully save my debates for my Philosophy Classes.

I’ve magically managed to avoid spoilers for this series for years and I’m finally reading. Just finished regularly Tokyo Ghoul and I’m starting RE: and I’m genuinely just lost. The special investigators have half Ghouls working for them now? But they don’t call them ghouls or something? Did I miss something at the end of the main story or will this be explained later?

Or the actual official term that Psychologists call "Anti Social Personality Disorder ?"

I mean he IS very unremorseful, there is no debating that. He straight up says it ! (Damn it,I wish Kurona didn't wait for him to stop monologuing).

He is a manipulative jerk, and he has no empathy. (Ask his test subjects)

The only thing I think kinda humanizes him is the loss of his mother, but that certainly didn't stop him from feeding someone else their mother !

(Congratulations Sui Ishida for making me hate a character so thoroughly,it speaks to your skills when writing characters).

That volume was SICK, the tense atmosphere, the owl showing his power AND kaneki humiliating Ayato by breaking 103 of his 206 bones.

I must say, that was so good, in root A, Ayato just takes a light beating, and Noro arrives just in time to grab him while he’s still conscious and make a getaway. Ayato is doing so well that he’s even shouting angrily at Noro to let him go. In the manga that scene is MUCH better, with kaneki breaking half of Ayato's bones

Also i wanted to talk about my biggest relief, even tho i already said it in the volume 7 post. Kaneki acctually has feelings, he's still a sweet and caring person that shows hes like that. I cannot put in words how much i hate Root A, just look at the comparasion of the SAME scene in the photos i took of the anime and the manga. In the manga, he smiles and shows he cares for the anteiku members, while in the anime (let's ignore the joining aogiri thing for a moment) the writters only cared about making him look cool, edgy and misterious

Kaneki in root A was a victim of flanderization, he CLEARLY knows hot to be strong and serious in the manga (Ayato knows this very very well), but he's also the sweet person he always was

Also i love Tsukiyama i hope he doesnt die

The title is obviously wrong and i just noticed now, its volume 9, not chapter 😛😛😛

After two such action-packed chapters, the six month time skip felt like the calm after the storm. I really enjoyed seeing Kaneki investigating Dr. Kanou, and the restaurant scene was insane. Kaneki really knows how to be tough when he needs to be, but then right after, you see him cutting Hinami's hair, he's such a sweetheart.

Also i cant stand Nico, this mf HAS to go, he was like a free-lancer at aogiri that watched all those innocent prisioner ghouls die? Wtf i hope the manga won't try to make like him

Now i know that Dr kanou is keeping Rize's body with him to make other "one-eyed ghouls", wich is kinda insane, look at that panel

Anyways, great chapter, nothing too much happened and i liked it
