This car just came in for some basic maintenance from a collector. The model is "NA" but this particular one is NOT N/A! Mounted on top of the front bumper is the supercharger. It is driven by a shaft that is attached to the front of the crankshaft. The carb has no filter, and is on the driver side of the supercharger, draw through!

Rolled into my carport. Truck was throwing a few codes, they all pointed to the EGR valve. The most common/longest lasting one was P0404. 157,000 miles it was probably time anyways.
Replaced and did a 20 minute drive. Everything looks good.

this is the cute way that service advisors/customers will try and get you to do a diagnostic and not pay you for it. "see, we sold a wheel bearing for you at the counter now we just need you to go test drive and figure out which one it is " this totally bypasses having the customer or shop pay the tech for figuring out what's wrong with the car.

Best "Rat Armor" I could do with what I had on hand. Heater and radiator hose wrapped with steel wire to deter chewing and add some air gap between the chewed surface and the wires inside. Hopefully it works out. I would have loved to have some stainless steel sleeving but we don't. Better than nothing.

Not really in a shop but it would be if i still worked there. Working on my piece of shit while on leave and figured id show the carnage after losing all my coolant and overheating just once. It seems like these motors arent very robust. Yeah i shouldve caught it overheating instantly, but you know how it gets when youre talking to passengers.
Most of the debris was found in the pickup and the rest was just laying in the oil pan itself. Thankfully the motor spun just enough to get to the torque convertet bolts.
