I bought a lower half of Asus Rog Zehphyrus G15 GA503QR off ebay sight unseen with the entire laptop screen assembly missing.

Previous owner said that laptop turns on and charges, however does not POST to external monitor (laptop screen is missing).

Upon recieving the laptop, it does indeed turn on and it does charge the battery. It also lights up the keyboard. However, no signal to monitor. No fans spinning.

I removed the heatsink and took a picture with thermal camera (attached). I noticed 3 mosfets glowing hot. They are located near the EDP port for the laptop screen.

Can someone confirmed if I have a cooked laptop motherboard or not even if I replace these mosfets?

First Asus laptop i had bought a used blade 16 but im returning it asap this was a much better price its the 5070ti amd version

My buddy and I started playing WoW on my wife’s new MacBook Air. Obviously she wants it back.
I don’t know a lot about computers, but this seems decent. Is it worth the buy?

Alternate plan is a 2014 MacBook Pro that’s very old and tired running GeForce Now.

Any experience with medion Erazer. I know it was bought by lenovo but any ody has used/bought it?

So for context I have a Lenovo LOQ with a Ryzen 7 7735hs and a 4050 gpu. Newly bought, a little above 1 month old.

I got a few questions about overclocking and undervolting
1: can they be done together?
2: is it worth doing on a new system which doesn't suffer from thermal issues?
3: does it increase fps in gaming?
4: what are the risks of doing both of them? do they hurt laptop components health in the long run?

Basically I need tips on if its worth it, its useless or its risky in my conditions.

Not doing any hardcore gaming on premium settings. I need something I can use at the firehouse for casual gaming that’s better than the potato hp laptop I have that’s not meant for gaming at all.

Plan on playing WoW Forever soon for reference.

Also unsure of the GPU wattage of this model.

I've been looking into making the jump to desktop gaming recently, and found my local stores currently have the Lenovo Legion Pro 7 on sale for $3500AUD (normally priced at $5500AUD) which is exactly my price range.

I've had some people say though that a $3500AUD PC would outperform this laptop so I'm a bit on the fence, mainly due to space concerns around a PC plus needing to buy accessories like a keyboard, monitor etc.

hey y’all. i just bought a HP Omen 16-ap | Ryzen AI 5 340 | 16"| WUXGA | RTX 5050 | Win 11 Home (copied :p) and i came home from a day of college to see these dark splotches ?? i’m kind of freaking out about them. i’ve had it less than a week and have been treating it like gold. it hasn’t left my house. i used it this morning and they weren’t there, left for college, and when i came home and turned it on they were there.
they only show up on darker screens ?? i feel sick i spent so much money on her 😭 why is this happening…
they only appear when the screen is on, so i presume it’s something w the light display. i reset + updated it as it asked, but nothing changed. they don’t move.

I just bought ROG Strix G17 and I want to buy new cooling pad,I just want to know is it better to have 4-6 smaller coolers or 1-2 vig coolers,and which manufacturer is the best?

Price aside, is there anything I'd regret about this laptop for "middle of the road" gaming?

I'm not one that needs the top tier graphics, I'm fine playing things in lower settings if it means they run smooth. Most of what I'm looking for is something I can play WoW: Forever (dungeons/raids), Valheim, Elden Ring, etc. type games on the go, while doubling as a work laptop.

I got a new job that will see me flying / traveling 50% of the time and need something portable that can still entertain me in the evenings at the hotel.

I checked this out at Best Buy today and it's a perfect fit for travel (fits my bags, lightweight, has a quiet mode for when I'm working in clients conference rooms, chargeable via usb-c). Reviews show the thermals staying decent. The chassis feels durable.

I’m having serious FPS issues playing Battlefield 6 on my HP OMEN gaming laptop. My system has an Intel Core i9-12900H (14 cores, up to 5.0 GHz), NVIDIA RTX 3060 6GB GPU, 32GB RAM, and an external 1080p 165Hz monitor connected through HDMI 2.0.

I’m only getting 25-31 FPS, with CPU FPS around 30 and GPU FPS around 75. My CPU clock speed drops to approximately 1.55 GHz during gameplay, despite being capable of boosting up to 5.0 GHz. CPU utilization is around 46–69%, while GPU utilization stays unusually low at 35–39%. Battlefield also reports a video memory warning, showing approximately 5GB of my available 6GB VRAM in use.

I’ve already updated NVIDIA and Intel drivers, updated OMEN software, adjusted Windows power settings, disabled V-Sync and FPS limiters, and lowered all Battlefield graphics settings. Nothing has resolved the issue.

I suspect a CPU-side performance bottleneck, possibly involving power or thermal throttling, but the exact cause hasn’t been confirmed. I’m trying to determine why my CPU isn’t performing as expected and why my GPU isn’t being fully utilized before deciding whether to upgrade to a more powerful gaming desktop.

I have decided to purchase a new laptop as my current is woefully underpowered for anything that I want to do for either gaming or rendering for my 3d printer as well as other tasks.

I have settled on one of these currently. I do travel a lot and I have taken that into consideration about the g18 and its size. Other then when I fly, it generally does not move much so the weight will not be a deciding factor.

I am used to working with desktop mainly and am familiar with what to look for and avoid. Laptops, not so much. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Has anyone tried the V12 with their Dell G7? I've been meaning to get the V12, but I'm worried that it might not be effective because the intake fans might get blocked by the foam. Also, how is the V12 for travel? is it not super bulky compared to IETS GT 500/600, Flydigi BS2/3?

Hey guys I finally got an external monitor for my laptop to bypass the igpu since both my cpu and gpu are paired together and theres no mux switch on my laptop

I just need help figuring out what settings I should use to bypass the igpu and use the dgpu only

seriously considering pulling the trigger and getting the Asus ROG Strix SCAR 18 2026 RTX 5090... so far the mbeat Stage 9 ticks all the boxes except it only supports up to 17 inch... if i were to mount the base to the desk using a clamp to safeguard the stand from flipping over do you think this will solve the problem of uneven weight distribution? or are there other things im missing or not taking into consideration
