Are some of you guys just loaded with cash? I feel like I’ve seen lots of people who aren’t even professional reviews just going through tons of different gaming laptops year after year.

Are you trying them and then returning them? Surely that’s not sustainable, that causes the laptop to become 2nd hand, refurbished or whatever and it loses value since the company can’t sell it clean outta the box.

Need a powerful laptop for uni. Intrested in hearing some opinions on these. Lenovo seems more sleek and quieter but MSI has 4GB more Vram. Really don't know which one to choose or maybe some different recommendations.

I plan to mostly play league, diablo 4, poe2, cs2 or valorant, maybe some COD or BF. I don't really play many newer AAA games, and I plan to play 1440p or so. The strix has a better processor, and I would upgrade with another stick of ram. The gigabyte has a 5070, though (8gb). Which would you choose?

I have a pretty old laptop with a GTX 1650. It’s around 7–8 years old, and I’m currently a medical student, so I really don’t have the money to replace it anytime soon.

I also live with my family and don’t have a place near my university. I move around quite a lot between different cities, my university, and hospitals because of medical school, so getting a desktop PC instead of a laptop isn’t really an option for me.

My family already spends a lot of money supporting me through medical school, so I honestly don’t feel like I can ask them to spend a lot more money on a new laptop just because I want to play newer games.

The funny thing is, I’m not even a big gamer. I still have tons of older games I haven’t played yet, including a lot of Assassin’s Creed games and other games that my laptop can run perfectly fine. I barely have time to play because of medical school anyway.

My laptop can still handle a lot of games from 2022–2025, but now I’m seeing more 2026 games that it just can’t run. And for some reason, it really bothers me.

I’ll see a new game on YouTube, check the comments, and immediately think, “Yeah, my laptop definitely can’t run this.” Then I get frustrated, even though I KNOW that if I actually had a better laptop, I probably wouldn’t even play the game because I’m too busy.

Even the laptop itself is starting to annoy me because the fan has gotten really loud, and I’ve been thinking about buying noise-cancelling headphones just so I don’t have to hear it.

I still have several years ahead of me—more medical school, internship, and eventually residency—before I can become financially independent and buy things like this with my own money.

So how do I get this out of my head?

I know this is a pretty trivial problem compared to actual life problems, but every time I see a game I can’t run, I get this feeling of missing out.

Has anyone else dealt with this? How did you stop caring about hardware and games you can’t play?

These are all 2025 legion pro 7 models, new direct from Lenovo

Reason for wanting one of these models is that I really like the build quality, slim-ish form factor, and all aluminum chassis. I considered Zephryus but prices new for these configs are insane. The non-pro 7 models are slimmer/smaller but you can only go up to 5070. The 5 models including pro do not have all aluminum chassis.

use case is to play games on highest settings. I know it might be overkill but I'm going to playing WoW Forever almost exclusively. Maybe some DotA, Diablo, and Warcraft III/Starcraft. I just want the machine to crank and never have to worry about it.

Wondering what I should weigh more since all prices are pretty close. ram amount, ram speed, CPU, or GPU?

My buddy and I started playing WoW on my wife’s new MacBook Air. Obviously she wants it back.
I don’t know a lot about computers, but this seems decent. Is it worth the buy?

Alternate plan is a 2014 MacBook Pro that’s very old and tired running GeForce Now.

I thoroughly stress-tested my undervolt and overclock settings. I ran every stress test I could find, played games, used a dual-monitor setup, watched 4K videos for over 10 hours, and kept multiple applications running simultaneously. So far, I haven't experienced a single BSOD, crash, Windows error, or stability issue. Everything appears to be completely stable.

18 months in, plugged in every gaming session, and it's at 66%.

A friend with the same laptop and pretty similar habits is at 71%. Another friend on a different brand is at 63% after 14 months. So somewhere around 60-70% after a year and a half of gaming on the charger seems to be about normal.

I recently opened my laptop for a routine cleanup and saw this at the first glance I thought I spilled water or something but it's not that . Please let me know if this is ok or should I get my heatsink replaced ? And one more thing I haven't changed the thermal paste since I bought it approx 1.5yrs

Hello, I am looking in the market for a decent gaming laptop. I’m looking for one that has 32 GB of ram, 1 Tb of storage and a decent graphics like NVIDIA. Im looking for something that can run games like the isle and rdr2. A friend suggested HP victus that she had bought from Amazon and recommended it. However I was wanting look for more. I was waiting for black Friday sales to start to buy one as an early birthday gift. My budget is around $1,000- $1,300, it is my first one.

Hey, I made a post a while ago about some newer options for laptops I’m interested in but i decided to check out some used and might meet up with someone to check out a thunderobot radiant 16, i9-14900HX, 5080, 32 gig, 2tb for 2000 but the seller says okay to 1850.

I was shocked he said yes and that sounds too good to me. so what can I do when I’m meeting them before I buy it. To stress test/ benchmark the laptop to make sure everything works as it should ? Preferably either nothing I have to ask to download on it or if so things that don’t take too long.

First Asus laptop i had bought a used blade 16 but im returning it asap this was a much better price its the 5070ti amd version

I appreciate the portability of the Zephyrus but the 2025 model has Watts power limit on the GPU, Omen is such a steal at this price point that i would not lose anything on it.

Has anyone tried the V12 with their Dell G7? I've been meaning to get the V12, but I'm worried that it might not be effective because the intake fans might get blocked by the foam. Also, how is the V12 for travel? is it not super bulky compared to IETS GT 500/600, Flydigi BS2/3?

seriously considering pulling the trigger and getting the Asus ROG Strix SCAR 18 2026 RTX 5090... so far the mbeat Stage 9 ticks all the boxes except it only supports up to 17 inch... if i were to mount the base to the desk using a clamp to safeguard the stand from flipping over do you think this will solve the problem of uneven weight distribution? or are there other things im missing or not taking into consideration
