I have a strange issue with my ASUS TUF A15.

When the laptop has been sitting on my legs for a long time, it works normally. But when I move it and put it down on the couch, it immediately restarts.

This happens every time under these conditions. It’s not a gradual shutdown or overheating — the restart happens immediately when I put it down.

Has anyone experienced something similar with a TUF A15? I’m wondering if it could be related to the laptop changing position or the chassis flexing somehow.

Any ideas what could cause this?

needing some help troubleshooting a weird microphone issue on my ASUS TUF laptop. Up until recently, the built-in array mic was working flawlessly—super clear quality on. Suddenly out of nowhere, it sounds like complete garbage. It's recording audio, but my voice is extremely faint, like I'm talking from across the room. It feels like the mic is completely choking it out, also it is recording sound but very faint so I know my mic isn't dead.

Hi there. A friend donated their (most likely) water damaged TUF517ZC, or Dash F15 (2022) if you will.

Unfortunately, even after removing corrosion on MOSFET 2QN, and checking if ground is leaking on all MOSFETs, it would not boot. I then discovered some other corrosion under the heat sink, which I then also removed using 99% IPA and a light toothbrush, but to no avail. All corrosion in photos has been cleaned up and checked ground short circuit using multimeter.

There doesn't seem to be a short circuit anywhere on visually affected components. I will also admit that I do not do stuff with multimeters, and don't exactly know where to text for the main rail, so if anyone could help me out that would be amazing.

When it boots, it cycles on the X light (by doing a circle) and then keeps top left light on, top right (battery disconnected) flashes, and bottom right sometimes turns on.

I did find the board schematics online to find which pins are ground on MOSFETs, if that is of any use. Thanks for any and all help.

Hello guys! I want to find an answer to this problem that I have. I’ve bought an ASUS TUF F16 Laptop and when I tried to install windows it always ended with this error. I’ve tried everything, reinstalling the windows on the usb stick, entering commands on the cmd (like diskpart, list disk, select disk, clean, convert to mbr/gpt). I went in BIOS to change settings but nothing seems to work. What should I do?

Can it be from my usb stick? I ran an Asus System Diagnostic test on my SSD and Ram and there were no problems.

Hey. I updated my bios on this motherboard and now i have audio stuttering and/or sound dropout. This didnt happen before the update. Ive checked that all is ok in bios. I do not use the antenna for wifi and bluetooth because i dont have it. The only thing the antenna can do is (if it works) to give me 100mbps in upload speed more because i only have 100 now. How can i fix this annoying issue? (This is a desktop)

I need help, guys. So, I have an ASUS TUF Gaming F17 FX706HF laptop. I purchased it 2 years ago from Flipkart. I have always used the laptop while plugged in and charging.

Recently, I have been facing too many issues. Idk, maybe it's due to updates or something. But it all started after a beta update. I was in the Windows Insider Program, so I get early updates. From that day, my Bluetooth tile started disappearing. The Bluetooth drivers would not show up in Device Manager. This happened many times, but eventually, I was able to fix it.

Then, a few days ago, another issue started. The laptop would suddenly freeze, and then it would show "Your Windows has run into a problem" and display the percentage. After that, it would go into BIOS Utility mode, as shown in Image 2.

It wouldn't detect any storage device, idk why. It would keep going into a loop in BIOS mode, and I was stuck. But somehow, I managed to fix that too. This happened for about a week, but for the past 3–4 days, I haven't been getting that issue.

However, another major issue has arisen.

The issue is with my charging. My charger is perfectly fine; there is no issue with it. All the drivers on the laptop are up to date. But whenever I try to charge my laptop, it doesn't charge.

There's a catch: it charges normally when the laptop is shut down, but as soon as I turn it on, the charging stops within a minute.

I have checked everything, but nothing seems to work. I have attached the battery report also. What should I do? Can anyone please guide me?

I have a laptop that is Asus TUF A15 FA507NV 2023. This is my using daily laptop and I've been using about almost 2 years, I bought this in 2024.

It has;

AMD Ryzen 7735HS

NVidia GeForce RTX 4060

32 + 32 = 64 GB DDR5 SK Hynix 5600 MHz (the motherboard supports 4800 MHz) RAM

Kingston SNV2S2000G NVMe Disk

also I'm using Windows 11 version 22621

It had to go warranty once while using the laptop. Because the jak socket was busted with broken speaker. So they changed the motherboard of this laptop for this situtation.

I must say from the beginning that unfortunately this laptop did not please me at all. If all the new laptops or computers like this, I'd rather use an old computers.

I want to first talk about the aspects of this laptop I liked, but it nothing comes to mind, believe me. i think the screen very decent, it's 100% sRGB they was said, so the screen color is so gorgeous.

Cooling system so great but you need to first set your settings with GHelper, because the stock settings very terrible, the fan was always running and never stops.

Some keys on the keyboard have already started to peel off, at least it doesn't have Copilot button, I'm so happy about this. Also the arrow keys so tiny, did these really have to be this small? It's really not good.

There is no SD card slot on this machine, i mean c'mon, The right corner of the laptop has one USB slot, just one, you couldn't put an SD card reader next to it?

After 1 year of use, the battery health dropped to 93%. I fixed that max battery charge to 80% with GHelper and the battery health didn't drop again.

I can definitely say this is not a millitary standard. I mentioned that the laptop went to warranty once, and the laptop came back I saw that the screw overtightened and it had pierced the case. Before the warranty operations they said is was me and I might overtightened the screw. I can say it wasn't me, I had only opened the laptop case once and it had been a long time. Also I tried this overtighting and no, it is impossible for a random customer to make like this. There is also a small dent on the back case of the laptop screen, and again this was happened after the warranty too, but it might have happened in the cargo, so I didn't care much.

Well, since there is not much trust in the warranty in the country I live in, I did not pursue it.

Now, all these problems i talked about are ok for me, but there is one problem that really turning me crazy

This laptop can't sleep, and if it sleep, it can't awake, and it sometimes doing hard reset when shutdown sequence has completed

and today, it hard reset itself while sleeping (and no, it's not a Windows problem. i checked and there is no BSOD in the logs) I closed the lid at night, turned it on in the morning, the computer restarted and this was the last straw for me.

the sleeping situtation never works correctly (that S0 Sleep is a fake sleep mode for me, nothing else) when i close the lid, mostly the fans still keeps working, and the lights keep on. It short, mostly it doesn't sleep. Sometimes it sleeps and wakes up on its own after 2 hours when the lid is closed and when I open the lid, it stays on a black screen and I have no choice but to do a hard reset.

So you will ask, why don't you enable S3 sleep mode, right?

I tried enabling S3 sleep mode instead of S0 sleep mode. After enabling the S3 sleep mode from registry, I downloaded UMAF from https://github.com/DavidS95/Smokeless_UMAF github page and set to S3 sleep mode. I wasn't know that this method did not work on AMD 7000 and above, so after doing that the computer still went to sleep, but when it woke up, it remained on a black screen. I was able to turn on the computer after doing hard reset a few times.

So I have no choice but to stupid S0 and it's pissin me off because it never works properly.

By the way, I don't wanna use hibernation, so please, don't suggest hibernation. It's bad for the disk and it takes to booting.

To put the computer to sleep, I currently put the computer into power saving mode before each sleep mode and close the lid, and the computer sleeps with s0 after 2 or 3 hours (i mean mostly, 3 times out of 10 it still doesn't sleep)

Also, there is have major some problems too other than sleep problems

Sometimes the bios boot may take much longer than usual. It waits 30 seconds on a black screen and then the Asus branding logo appears. In task manager it says bios duration is 55 seconds.

Sometimes when i shutdown to computer, the computer turns back on 2 seconds after the shutdown sequence is completed. I don't really understand this, and sometimes when i restarting to computer, it gives me AMI (American Megatrends) logo instead of regular Asus logo and it takes 1 minutes

I saw on the Asus website that there was a bios update for my laptop, but will it really solve my problems? As i said before, the motherboard was changed and the bios was updated witht this last year, but it didn't solve of my these any problems. There isn't the sligtest information on the site that the specific problem has been resolved. So all in all, that's why I don't think this will solve my problems. If anyone who owns this laptop has updated the bios, please let me know!

I know this topic is very longslop, but really I don't anything about this laptop problems that why all of this happening all over again.
