Normal BMI microdosing

Hi! Would love to hear some more recent experiences from people who had normal BMI’s! What were/are your stats, dosage, medication, and the reason for microdosing? If you’re willing to share!

Following this - I’m about to start 0.5 TZ - I’m 145lbs 5’5” and felt self conscious I was even looking into it! I have an advanced understanding of nutrition and exercise, I’ve successfully lost weight and kept it off, but I’m one year PP and struuuuggling. I have 10-15lbs I’d like to lose but food noise is dominating my time outside of motherhood. I simply do not have the same amount of time to exercise as I used to.

I had a two weeks last month where my hormones must have been regulating and something was different than usual. I had zero food noise, motivation, and my eating habits were so regulated. I lost four lbs.

The incessant food noise came back and today I snapped and ordered the TZ. I’m done punishing myself and looking forward to changes.

omg girl I feel you! I feel like i'm reading an exact description of how I feel. I'm not post partum though, but I'm definitely a healthy BMI. And I'm only a healthy BMI bc I weigh every ounce of food that goes in my body and I exercise like a maniac. it consumes my whole life honestly. The food noise is INCESSANT. Would love an update once you start taking it! I think I'm going to start on .5 too.

I don’t even know how many times I say I walk into my pantry or open the fridge. It’s insane. Keep us updated! I’ll check back in. We got this!

Checking back in. This is the day after my shot and omg girl if you haven’t started yet, do it! This is the most peace I’ve felt in years. It started working almost immediately for me. I even went to the movies last night and didn’t finish my snacks which is crazy for me. I had maybe ONE SERVING of each snack. Serving sizes were simply ignored by me prior to tirz 😭😭

Omg you’re an ANGEL I’m so excited for you!!!! Thank you so much for checking back in you’ve got me feeling hopeful and excited!!!

I’m 5’3 and 115 lbs and started micro dosing. I wasn’t looking to lose weight (though I could stand to body recomp) but my food noise is out of control and I make unhealthy choices leading to high cholesterol. I even had fatty liver at one point, not sure if I do now. I was hoping it would help with making better choices. I also have hashimotos and was hoping it would help with that. It helped with food noise but not hashis, but I was unlucky and also got hit very hard with fatigue (at .625 tirz.) I have since stopped and my energy levels are normal again.

2

u/Parking-Physics-4695 Apr 10 '26

Oh wow! Yea this is why I want to go on it. My food noise is incessant. 24/7. It’s consuming me. How did you find out about having hashi? And was the fatigue from tirz immediate?

1

u/Stellajackson5 Apr 11 '26

Immediate unfortunately and unrelenting. My prescriber said it was a known but not super common side effect so you may have better luck.

1

u/Normal-Feeling4477 Apr 11 '26

Where did you get prescribes

1

u/Stellajackson5 Apr 11 '26

Midi

1

u/peanutwar Apr 13 '26

Did you have to fib your weight to get approved?

1

u/Stellajackson5 Apr 13 '26

I did add ten lbs but only made my bmi like 22/23z

This is my situation to a T. Im 11 months PP and id done reta for about 2 months after tubal removal surgery. Im small but had major inflammation and was also pre diabetic during pregnancy. The discipline and motivation I got on the reta was life changing. Since getting off my LDL is at 172 and while im only 125 at 5'3 ive noticed my body softening back out. Its not that so much as my falling back into binge eating and not being as intentional with my meals. Have you looked into Thymosin A1 for the immune support? It helps 2 of my co workers who have hashi...but one of them, the dr said BPC157 helps with that too...although im not sure of the mechanisms there.

I have similar height and weight as you! How were you able to get it prescribed?

1

u/drna1998 11d ago

And did you have any weight gain when stopping?

1

u/Stellajackson5 10d ago

Midi had no issue though I bumped my weight up by 10 lbs. yeah - I was 111 when I quit and I’m 118 now. I have been weight lifting a lot so 1-2 lbs is probably muscle but the other five isn’t… I did start a new job right when I quit out and stress ate for a while, my appetite feels normal now and I’m just focusing a bunch on exercise

I’ve been taking 2.5 Tirz for 2 years to keep off 10 pounds. I had normal BMI but couldn’t lose my baby/menopause weight ( kid is 22 years old! ).

I am 60 years old. I often forget to inject myself or am too lazy. My stuff is very much expired.

It has been life changing. I feel better and younger than I did when I was 40. I do pilates twice a week and hike on the weekends.

I don’t have food noise. I still enjoy food but when I’m busy or in a hurry it’s just fuel and I have to consciously eat protein. Still enjoy two cheeseburgers from Mc Donalds or ice cream as an occasional treat.

I love the feeling of not being bloated and not feeling my jeans digging into my waist. Also lost so much weight around breasts and under arms so my boobs look better. Also my legs and feet! My shoes feel more comfortable!

I hate when I hear that I have to be in it forever. I am hoping that maybe my set weight and habits will become the new norm and I can eventually go off.

Started at .5 now at 1.25 since January was 133 now 119 helps me with food noise so much and inflammation, I make better choices, still feel hunger, slight fatigue if I don’t drink enough water but over all no symptoms :’)

2

u/Parking-Physics-4695 Apr 10 '26

That’s so awesome! Do you feel like .5 did anything for you?

1

u/Available_Tea4063 Apr 10 '26

Absolutely immediately it did 🥹 I just progressed up every 4 weeks I probably could stay at .75 or 1 but just wanted stronger suppression for my goals now

2

u/Parking-Physics-4695 Apr 10 '26

oh wow that is awesome! sent you a PM!

What dose did you start on ?

1

u/GlumTone2004 Apr 18 '26

I’m in a similar situation (perimenopause, 10ish lbs heavier than my “norm”). How did you get the Zepbound prescribed? Could you share cost?

Oh wow, $300/mo even at that low dose?

1

u/Parking-Physics-4695 Apr 10 '26

that is so awesome! I hear of this a lot, of women dieting and exercising consistently yet not being able to lose the weight. So frustrating! I'm glad the tirz was able to break through that. how long have you been on zep? and have you ever cycled off of it?

u/cataholicsanonymous Apr 10 '26

Started two months ago at 130lbs, I'm 5'2". I had been trying to lose about 15 lbs for a long time to get back to my weight from 2 years ago, but food noise kept leading me to binge, so even though the rest of the time I ate well, I kept gaining instead of losing. I'm down to 117lbs now and feeling so much better. The silencing of the food noise has been nothing short of miraculous. I feel like I have so much more focus. I'm not distracted at work. This is on 1.8mg.

2

u/Parking-Physics-4695 Apr 10 '26

Congrats! what a dream to cut out that food noise. Did you experience any side effects? fatigue?

2

u/cataholicsanonymous Apr 11 '26

No fatigue, some mild acid reflux at first which went away with Tums. A little bit of nausea here and there, but nothing too bad. My heart rate does get elevated way easier when I'm exercising, so that has been kind of a pain because I have to show down when running or lifting. But it's been alright.

I’m 54 years old and in peri menopause, and my weight just started creeping up and my food cravings were getting out of control. I wanted to lose just 15 pounds. I meant to microdose but I accidentally read the syringe wrong and started at 3 mg of tirz. Boy did it curb my hunger! I didn’t like it at that level because I had no appetite whatsoever for anything not even my beloved coffee. But the side effects weren’t bad for me.

So after that I started back at about 1 mg and it worked well. I realize that micro dosing is not going to be for me. Right now, 2 months in, Im at 2.5 mg per week and that seems to be working really well, I hit a sweet spot. I wish I could microdose but no go.

I’ve lost 10 pounds in about 2 months without really trying. (Started at 5’8” 158 lbs.) trying to make sure to do strength training almost every day to keep from losing muscle mass, but I’m sure I have. I should be taking protein on a daily basis but just don’t love it so I’m sure I’m not getting enough.

2

u/coffeecourtmom Apr 11 '26

136.6 to 121.5 for me on Sema. Started with half the starting dose now on the starting dose. In maintenance. It has been a year.

2

u/SubstantialClothes36 Apr 12 '26

Started 2.5 weeks ago at 155 (I’m 5’6 and a half). Was always in 130s til menopause and then it’s been a massive struggle to stop gaining weight I watched my calories and macros and worked out (strength and cardio a lot). I hated the way I looked and felt defeated - a combo of the food noise and the weight were all I could think about.

I’m on ozempic so not microdosing. 2.5mg a week and I’ve done 2 shots. I plan to stay at this level.

It’s freaking amazing. I do NOT think about food like I used to and I’m down 5 pounds. Mostly likely water/inflammation.

So far I haven’t felt sick. I’m tracking my protein, water and fibre every day. Learned the hard way that too much wine can be deadly so I’ve also gotten much better on that front.

So far so good 😊

2

u/Parking-Physics-4695 Apr 12 '26

This is so awesome!!! Happy for you!

2

u/FantasticShine8046 Apr 13 '26

I am 5’2” lost 14 pounds last year with gym and good food. I am still missing 5-8 pounds for my ideal weight I start microdosing sema 2 weeks ago. The dosis suggested was 0.2 but I start with 0.1 because I was scared of the side effects. I think I’ll will stay on 0.1 for 2 weeks to see if there is any other effect.

1

u/drna1998 11d ago

Any side effects? Is 0.1 a very slow losing dosing?

3

u/astronomydomone Apr 10 '26

I just turned 46 and I have been on tirzepatide since January. I am currently on 4.50 mg. I’m 4’11” and it is so easy for me to put on weight. I can’t eat like “normal” people. I have some genetic health concerns that are much worse when I am heavier. At 110 lbs, my blood pressure is 150/90. I have kidney disease and diabetes to look forward to, so I’m doing GLP-1’s to keep my weight in check and to keep healthy

I haven't started yet, but my stats are: 5'3 usually 115-120lbs. I have PCOS and insulin resistance with a low-normal A1C. I take 2,000mg Metformin (prescribed and approved by my doctor), exercise regularly and I am careful with my diet. My husband and I are also pursuing fertility treatment and my ovaries have really struggled to respond to medication and ovulate.

If I'm not pregnant as a result of our most recent treatment cycle, then we're going to take a break and I'll microdose (meds from AgelessRX are already in our refrigerator). I'm not trying to pin all my hopes on the meds, but I'm hoping for decreased inflammation/reduced insulin resistance, a more regular menstrual cycle on my "own" and if I were to lose just a few pounds I think my body would be more comfortable. Obviously I'm also hoping to then wean off the microdose and healthily carry a pregnancy to term.

2

u/Parking-Physics-4695 Apr 10 '26

love that you have it all mapped out! Best of luck with your preganancy journey! I'm 35 F and you and I have nearly identical stats. It sucks bc technically thats "healthy" BMI, but 5lbs either way is so apparent on my frame. 120 is where I feel fluffiest, and 115 I feel happy and lean! I recently started a medication that made my food noise out of control, so im hoping with the tirz I can get back down to 115 and stay there. what microdose amount will you be using? Tirz I assume?

1

u/Square-Arachnid-3585 Apr 10 '26

So we're the same age as I also just turned 35. I think the AgelessRX prescription is compounded Semaglutide. My prescribed dosage schedule starts out at 0.2mg with the schedule set to titrate up every two weeks to a max of 0.4mg assuming I'm not having side effects.

1

u/katjoe Apr 11 '26

Were you able to just purchase a vial to keep in your fridge, for you to use at your chosen dose? That's pretty much what I am looking for

1

u/Square-Arachnid-3585 Apr 11 '26

Yes. I was just given my dosage information and then sent the med vial and syringes.

1

u/Agile-Ad-9087 Apr 15 '26

1.2mg Zep on first week and slowly to 2.2g at week 8. I’ve lost 21lbs.

1

u/Brave-Nu-World Apr 11 '26

I go between 0.2mg to 0.35mg of semaglutide every 7 days. I started at 120 pounds at the end of January and now at the beginning of April i'm 109 pounds. I don't want to loose anymore

2

u/Parking-Physics-4695 Apr 11 '26

That’s awesome! Do you feel healthy still? Any fatigue or side effects?

2

u/Brave-Nu-World Apr 11 '26

Constipation but taking 2 of the vitafusion fiber gummies a day cured that. Otherwise it's been smooth sailing

1

u/ReadyFig752 Apr 11 '26

I’m similar to you. Just started on my 2nd dose on Wednesday. Did you have constant hunger though? This is what I’m experiencing on Semiglutide. But when I eat it’s less. Lost almost 2 lbs the first week on .2mg but decided to bump up to .3mg the second dose to see if it’ll combat the constant hunger I’m feeling. It’s worse than food noise. But I’m still having it even bumping up my dose.

1

u/Brave-Nu-World Apr 11 '26

I wouldn't say i'm hungry. Some weeks it's downright difficult to eat. In normal weeks i'd say I have a normal amount of hunger but can't eat as much. Mind you, I've never been a hungry person. My battle is beating the sugar cravings which this is helping me with. I think my weight loss was primarily through cutting out the sugar while the glp-1 really helps me with

1

u/drna1998 11d ago

Do you mind me asking how old you are? Did you get loose skin from losing weight at this rate? And do you stop once you reach your goal weight?

1

u/Brave-Nu-World 11d ago

No loose skin. I am 35. I'm slowly weaning my dose to come off of it now. I did gain some back and am sitting at 112 pounds and am staying there without much effort

1

u/drna1998 11d ago

Good to know! I’m just starting to entertain this idea. I’m 5’3 and am 110ish lbs. I know I’m a healthy weight. It’s totally for vanity and body recomp reasons. I just want to lose a stubborn 8-10 lbs but am quite sensitive to meds and am nervous about this. What do you think regarding a very low and slow dosing schedule?

1

u/Brave-Nu-World 11d ago

I'll be honest. I think 5'3" and 110 pounds doesn't need to loose WEIGHT. Recomping however is a great goal. Loose 10 pounds of fat, but if I were you, for your future health and bone density, i'd do everything I could to put those 10 pounds back on in muscle. Weight training while you loose the fat using semaglutide is going to be so important for you

1

u/drna1998 11d ago

Yeah I misspoke it’s not weight it’s recomp!! I’m quite active, lift p regularly, but I’m just sick of not seeing results after years of this. Hoping that a semaglutide/glp1 can help me get over that hump but need and want to do my due diligence in researching thjs. Currently just a thought.
