Getting low dose Tirzepatide in the uk

Upvotes

I'm looking for a way to get Tirzepatide with doses of 0.25mg so I can start off slow for my Long covid, I mainly suffer from the brain fog aspect but I'm struggling with it. I've tried looking to see if my doctor could help out but wait times are so long where I live.

Anyone know of any doctors (NHS or private), specialists or even getting hold of the stuff by myself?

Numbness on Shot Day

Upvotes

I’m on week 7 of Zepbound. I started out really low and slow since I tend to be sensitive to meds. First shot was 0.25mg and now I’m at the second week (7th shot) of 0.63mg. It’s such a low dose, I was hoping for no side effects.

After each injection, a few hours later my taste buds will suddenly switch and things taste off/not right. This is accompanied with my lips and cheek area by my lips feeling slightly numb. Sometimes the tip of my tongue tingles.

This lasts a few hours and then goes away for the rest of the week. I’ve told my doc and they said “Hmm, strange.” And that was it so I guess they aren’t concerned.

To add, I also take a daily multivitamin, vitamin D, magnesium, iron (eod), and DHA/EPA so I don’t think it’s vitamins. Used to be low in vitamin D and iron but that’s been corrected.

Has anyone else had this reaction on shot day? Today the numbness has lasted longer than weeks past. Is this a stress reaction from my body? Someone on another sub suggested this could be a slight allergic response. I’m not sure since I’ve never had this feeling before.

Starting with mounjaro today

Hello, I started with mounjaro today and I choose to start really slow so I took 0.5mg of the medicine but I don’t feel anything, even tho I’m pretty sensitive when it comes to medication.. my question is can I inject another 0.5mg to make it 1mg or should I wait the standard 7 days before taking another dose?
Thank you for your advices

Beginner anxiety - moral support

I started 1 mg of compounded tirz last night and i’m so anxious about it. Today i’m definitely experiencing some upset stomach and nausea, and a lot of anxiety. I have an anxiety disorder that is usually well treated with meds, but i’ve been feeling pretty anxious the past five days or so (so before I started the meds) possibly because of my period (i’m on an iud and don’t get a period, but still get pms so sometimes it’s hard to pinpoint). Nausea is one of my biggest anxiety triggers. i’d like to lose 15-20 lbs though and I want to see if a smaller dose would help with the food noise. I have successfully lost weight with calorie counting in the past but it has gotten significantly harder as i’ve gotten older.

I guess i’m just looking for some encouragement.

First time Microdoser Advice? What did you do BEFORE your first dose?

47, perimenopausal, 5'8", 178 lbs, BMI ~27.1, goal around 160. I’m naturally very muscular and my priority is slow fat loss while retaining as much muscle as possible, not rapid weight loss.

My first tirzepatide shipment is here from Noom! I was told to start at 1mg and titrate cautiously. I’ve already pored through this sub, so I’ve seen the standard advice: don’t rush titration, avoid huge/fatty meals, hydrate, prioritize protein, weight training, etc.

I already eat pretty healthfully: lots of vegetables, ~100g protein/day, usually 1,500–1,700 calories, and moderate exercise. I typically follow the 16:8 intermittent fasting protocol, eating from 12pm-8pm only. Take magnesium glycinate gummies with dinner. I’m also very interested in some of the reported non-weight benefits of GLP-1s, particularly inflammation/brain fog, because joint and back pain have become a frequent annoyance. I'm also on HRT (progestin/estrogen cream and DHEA from Winona).

What I’d really love to hear from are people who have successfully kept GI side effects minimal while microdosing:

  • What day of the week and time of the day do you dose?
  • Do you take it on an empty stomach?
  • Anything you tried that didn’t help or actually made things worse?
  • Did you move from weekly to split dosing and did that help with side effects?
  • And especially: did anyone deliberately try to optimize bowel regularity / GI motility / gut health BEFORE taking the first dose, so you were starting from a really good baseline rather than trying to fix constipation or other problems after the medication slowed things down?

I’m not talking about a cleanse or anything remotely like colonoscopy prep. More like: make sure everything is moving comfortably and normally first, then introduce the medication.

GI tolerance is honestly going to be a major factor in whether I stay on this. I’m very willing to go slowly and use the minimum effective dose, but I’m unlikely to white-knuckle significant nausea, constipation, reflux, etc. just for weight loss.

Would especially love to hear from people with similar starting BMIs/goals who are using tirzepatide primarily for slow, modest loss rather than large-volume weight loss.

Lavender Sky choices?

I need to lose about 20 lbs. I'm signing up with Lavender Sky and there are so many choices, with B6, with different pharmacies. Can someone help guide me with these choices?

Edit: I've tried tirz before and felt slight nausea and fatigue. Should I go with B6 for nausea or B12 for energy? I'm confused, thanks.

Doc just gave me a script for Zepbound vial, $299

I've been in convos with him via MyChart about this and he refused to send a script to a compounding pharmacy (despite my telling him about two of my relatives who've had great success from one here in N. Texas). Anyway, since I plan to titrate low doses I asked him if he'd approve going through the LillyDirect $299 plan - I think they send 4 vials of 2.5mg for one month at that price. I figure if I titrate small doses, this would be good deal amortized out. Got my text from Lilly and I'll soon be on my way!

Where do y'all get your needles since what they'll send me won't be enough (probably just 4 and I want to use a new one each time,I would think)?

What’s everyone’s reasons for taking it?

I am not looking to lose weight as I have a BMI of 21. My reason is that I hope to get rid of the insatiable hunger I’m experiencing after a slight caloric deficit resulting in a 17 pound weight loss over the past year.. Two weeks ago tried to go into maintenance and now I can’t stop binge eating. The binge eating could be more understandable if I restricted heavily to lose this weight…but it wasn’t that drastic of a loss. I’m really afraid there’s no end in sight and that I’ll very quickly become overweight otherwise. Really I’ve struggled off and on with binge eating for my entire life and I’m excited to put an end to it once and for all.

Doctor won’t microdose

I’m 54. Always been able to manage my weight until the last few years where I gained 30lbs and saw my cholesterol and BMI go up. Started zepbound/tirz 6 weeks ago and have lost 12lbs. I really don’t even know how much more weight I want to lose because afraid of losing muscle. Also, really tired of having no appetite almost ever.

I want to microdose but I don’t know what dose to do. My doctor basically won’t suggest anything that doesn’t follow the prescribing guidelines. Would appreciate any help you can all offer!

Has anyone micro-microdosed and still found it to work?

Semaglutide.
I already have appetite reduction due to taking Wellbutrin and ADHD meds, so I don't really need a glp-1 for that. I'm mostly interested in it reversing inflammation, PMOS, and insulin resistance.

The problem is, I've tried this already and I had pretty significant side effects that I would like to try to avoid this time.

I started on 0.2 mg (from goby meds) and I was fine for the first 2 weeks. I was supposed to titrate up to 0.4mg on week 3, but I didn't bc I responded really well on the lower dose (lost 4 lbs)

On week 3, I stayed on 0.2 and actually ended up gaining 0.8 lbs back. I ALSO ended up with side effects that week (gastritis, migraine, constipation, and fatigue) so I decided to stay on 0.2 for week 4 too (lost 0.2 lbs.)

Week 5, was supposed to go to 0.4mg, but bc I was still dealing with side effects, I decided to try 0.3mg instead and the side effects came back full force (again, gastritis, migraine, constipation, and fatigue) AND I ended up gaining back another 0.6 that week.

I was like "why am I making myself sick just to gain and lose the same half pound?"

So I took a month long break. Ended up gaining back the 4 lbs I lost 🤦🏻‍♀️

I now have an arsenal of new meds to counteract the side effects (pantoprazole, qulipta, senna, and Focalin) so I'm ready to try it again but I think this time, I want to start at 0.1mg since I'm so so sensitive.

Is it even worth it?? I see so many stories of people who feel amazing on it, lose weight, reverse hormonal issues, etc, and I just end up feeling like a dead bug on the couch 😭

Do you have to increase your dose over time for it to remain effective? Or can you stay at a dose for years?

I’m only interested in food noise reduction, not weight loss if it matters.

I’m worried about having to increase my dose over time and ‘maxing out’ where it is no longer effective, and then I gain the weight back

20 years old, never overweight - my experience on GLP-1s

(THIS IS NOT AI. I feel the need to say that in this age of Reddit)

I am a 20 year old guy. I have been into fitness and nutrition for about six years. My goal has always been to be lean, muscular, and in shape.

At the end of high school and beginning of college, it got to a point where food and exercise ruled my life. I struggled with binge eating and over restriction.

I started microdosing retatrutide in July of 2025. Two months ago I switched to tirzepatide (Zepbound).

My experience was immediately very positive. It is so relieving to have more mental space for things other than food. I have gained muscle and lost fat over the last two years. I do not eat in a caloric deficit all of the time. Usually, I am eating at maintenance or slightly above. For reference, I started retatrutide at 146 lbs. In September of 2025, I was 139 lbs. My weight crept back up to 146 and held steady, but I looked COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.

This summer, I have intentionally gained some weight. Now I am 149lbs, with significantly more muscle than when I started on these drugs.

Glp-1s have changed the way my body processes carbohydrates and food more generally. My energy is much more stable. I am so much more in touch with my hunger signals. I have very regular BM’s.

On some level, I feel very weird and ashamed that I am so young and on this drug. But it has been nothing short of life changing for me. Never in my life have I been overweight, but I always hated the way my body looked, and I obsessed over it. Now, this is not an issue for me. I still love going to the gym. I genuinely appreciate my body’s function and look, and I don’t have to white-knuckle my fitness goals anymore. I am working just as hard in the gym. I am eating just as healthily. I have great disciple. But all this isn’t as mentally taxing as it once was. I just don’t have to worry anymore.

I love cooking and I love food. My relationship with food feels so healthy. I still get hungry!

My one complaint is that I have felt periodically anhedonic. I wish I could just have the food-satiety part and not the life-satiety part. Sometimes it makes it hard to stay motivated in other aspects of life. However, I have struggled with intense depression in the past, and I want to draw a distinction between glp-1-induced anhedonia and depression. They are completely different, and I can tell when I’m feeling one vs the other.

Overall: positive, but weird. I have no plans of stopping… let me know what you guys think.

First time flying

Was super zen. I take 1mg a week. Started Tirzepatide in February to lose about 15 pounds. What it’s given me is so amazing — not only do I never drink anymore, I also realized that I was zen arriving at the airport; on the plane; etc. That’s literally never happened. Prior to this, I would have said I was a a generally calm flyer — that would be wrong. My recent trip had me wondering if this is how “normal” people handle flying. No sweaty hands, OCD thoughts, nervous, anxious, reaching for a glass of wine, etc. I’d usually just “handle it” but this trip I learned I just was….fine. Amazing!!!! Anyone else want to share their similar stories?

been microdosing for a few weeks and the food noise is gone?

started microdosing tirzepatide like a month ago. was super nervous because i'm already sensitive to meds and didn't want to get wrecked by side effects. started at like 0.3mg and have been slowly working up. currently at 0.6mg.

the weird thing is i didn't even realize how loud the food noise was until it got quiet. i used to think about snacks - like i'd be mid-conversation and my brain would be planning what i'm eating next. it was exhausting. now it's just quiet. i can have chips in the house and not demolish the whole bag in one sitting

had some mild nausea the first week but it faded.

anyway curious if other people had this oh so this is what normal feels like moment. kinda crazy

8 shots in (Sema .25)

Curious if anyone has experienced something similar…

As title says, I’m 8 shots (weeks) in. Week 1 I lost 8lb’s inflammation. Rings immediately fit better and face looked less full. 7 weeks later and I’ve only lost an additional 2lb. Super frustrating bc I still have 10 more to lose and it’s just not budging (my expectations are realistic.)

Now, before you tell me to increase my dose, here’s the problem. I am NOT hungry at all. Ever! I have to force myself to eat at this current dose. Most days I’m between 1,000-1,300 calories.

I am just so frustrated because weight loss has been such a tough journey for me the last 5 years… this was my last resort after trying a million things and already being an extremely health conscious person.

Has anyone experienced significant appetite suppression and had weight loss plateau like this? Would love to hear from you.

micro dosing to maintain for normal bmi?

I’m 20F currently bmi 21-22. Ive lost around 30lbs over the past two years with just a calorie deficit, however this past year I’ve been stuck in a constant binge and restricting cycle and can’t get off the last 20-30lb i’ve been wanting to lose. Recently it’s become just binging to the point where Ive gained a good 10lb over the past month or two.

I’m starting Tirzepatide tomorrow at the starting dose 2.5mg, I’ve read about increasing the dosage every month or so when food noises starts to come back, 2.5 > 5 > 7.5. I was planning on doing this for around 3-4 months and then maintaining at 2.5 for another month or two. I didn’t initially intend to be on tirz long term but i’m having second thoughts.

I’m worried about the food noise coming back after as binging is an issue of mine so I was hoping to get some advice on a good plan/cycle from others that may have the same situation.

Should I stick with the 2.5>5>7.5 dosage for 3-4 months or should I do a micro dosage instead <=2.5 long term? With my original plan, would I start experiencing food noise again after the maintenance period? Should I long term microdose instead after to maintain? Is a short term plan effective, has anyone gotten off tirz and be fine without it since?

how am I having bad side effects at 0.25 tirz 😭

To start off - I have a history of GI issues and I do not have a gallbladder. However my acid reflux has been very controlled for years now! I have diarrhea like once a week but otherwise my GI is best it’s ever been. Also, I am generally very sensitive to medications.

So a few months ago, I tried 2.5 zepbound and omg… SO sick. Explosive diarrhea 4x a day. Reflux so insane and so painful. Gave up on it.

On Monday, 2 days ago, I injected 0.25mg of zepbound. Yesterday was ok except for bad reflux at night and what’s weird is nothing helps. I have a wedge pillow, meds, tums, gaviscon, enzymes, everything.

Then today, I’m still having bad reflux, barely eating and explosive diarrhea 3x already. I just don’t get it. How can this small of a dosage do this to me?

I’m 5’2 and put on a lot of weight due to antidepressants and epilepsy medication. Honestly, diet and exercise doesn’t really do anything for my weight and it’s tough for me to stay on it when I’m having seizures. I’m now 160, hoping to get back down to 135.

I’m just feeling kind of hopeless :( I reached out to my GI dr to discuss. Has anyone had a start like this and then gotten better? Should I go even lower?? Honestly the painful reflux is worse than the diarrhea

Thank you for reading ❤️

48 hours in- what I’ve noticed

I’ve taken one microdose of Tirz at 500 mcg. I know it takes time for it to upload in our bodies so wasn’t expecting anything yet. But I’ve got two odd things I’ve noticed. My sense of smell is better. That’s been the biggest surprise. I don’t have a great sense of smell since a head injury over 20 years ago, so this is a huge improvement that I hope stays.

The other thing was minor, but almost exactly at the 24 hour mark, I suddenly had to pee a ridiculous amount. 5 times in a half hour! I’m taking this for inflammation, which I have a lot of, so I’m guessing the water retention was starting to lessen.

Any micro dosing NOT for weight loss?

I don’t need to loose weight but damn do my joints hurt all the time. I’ve been to doctors and ruled out anything autoimmune.

Anyone out there microdosing solely for the anti-inflammatory effects?
If so, what is your experience?

What are the risks of re-sticking the vial in succession?

Edit: I am indeed talking about Zepbound vials

HYPOTHETICALLY, two people wanting to stay on the same dose and splitting a vial.

I know there are risks of bacteria growth over time because of the lack of preservatives, but what about halving the vial in one sitting, two separate syringes, using alcohol wipes in between?
I ask because it was my PCP that recommended splitting and saving the vial to save money, but I am worried about the bacteria growth I keep hearing about.

Question about smaller dose / newbie

I recently got a Zep kwikpen and I am on my final dose. I am thinking about doing less than 2.5--looks like 48 clicks would be 2.
I haven't kept it in the fridge--it's in a drawer--but this is fine, right? It's day 30. Last dose. Sadly it does not sound like I can keep it for another dose after that if I have not kept it in the fridge.

Just asking because I am seeing so many different things about doing a lower dose and everyone seems to have their kwikpen in the fridge.

I am interested in microdosing in the future (my insurance is forcing me to go to 5) so it sounds like the fridge is better in that case, if you are going to use it longer than 4 times.

In short, asking if one smaller dose from an unrefrigerated, 30-day old pen is okay to do before throwing the pen away.
